Verfahren zur Herstellung von Pigmenten
Das vorliegende Verfahren betrifft ein Verfahren zur Herstellung von Pigmente, welches dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, dass man Monoazofarbstoffe der Formel

worin A den Rest einer Kupplungskomponente und n eine ganze Zahl im Werte von 1 bis 2 bedeuten, mit einer Verbindung eines Erdalkali-oder Schwermetalles verlackt. Die verfahrensgemässe Umsetzung findet vorteilhaft in wässrigem Milieu bei erhdhter Temperatur statt.
Die zur erfindungsgemässen Verlackung geeig- neten Azofarbstoffe gemäss Formel (1) lassen sich nach an sich üblichen Verfahren, beispielsweise durch Diazotieren und Kuppeln, darstellen. Die dabei benöti'gte Diazokomponente kann durch Diazotieren des Amins der Formel

Dieses Amin ist beispielsweise durch Umsetzung von l-Trifluormethyl-3-nitro4-chlorben- zol mit wässeriger Natriumsutfitlösung, vorzugsweise im Autoklaven, und anschliessende Reduktion der so erhaltenen l-Trifluormethyl-3-nitrobenzol-4-sulfonsäure nach bekannten Verfahren, z. Die Diazotierung der l-Trifluormethyl-3-aminobenzol-4-sulfonsäure erfolgt in der üblichen Weise mittels Natriumnitrit in mineralsaurem wässrigem Me dium, und die Kupplung wird mit Vorteil in schwach saurem bis schwach alkalischem Milieu durchgeführt.
Die erfindungsgemässe Verlackung durch Umsetzung der genannten Azofarbstoffe mit den Metall- verbindungen, vorzugsweise mit den wasserlöslichen Erdalkalimetall-oder Schwermetall'salzen, in wässriger Lösung oder Suspension bei erhöhter Temperatur, vorzugsweise zwischen 65 bis 100 C. Als geeignete Metallverbindungen der genannten Art sind die Verbindungen, vorzugsweise die wasserlöslichen Salze der Elemente Magnesium, Barium, Calcium, Strontium, Aluminium, Mangan, Eisen, Cobalt, Nickel, Kupfer, Zink, Cadmium und Blei zu nennen.
Die Verlackung kann auch in Gegenwart einer der üblichen Trägersubstanzen bzw. Substrat wie Aluminiumoxyd, Titandioxyd, Bariumsulfat, Bleisulfat usw. erfolgen.
Die so erhaltenen Pigmente werden durch Filtration isoliert und können nach Trocknung und Konditionierung, beispielsweise durch eine passende Vermahlung, zum Färben der verschiedensten hoch- molekularen Materialien verwendet werden.
Die neuen Farbstoffe stellen wervolle Pigmente dar, welche für die verschiedensten Pigmentappli- kationen verwendet werden können, z. B in feinver- teilter Form zum Färben von Kunstseide und Viskose oder Celluloseäthern und-estern oder von Polyestern in der Spinnmasse, sowie zur Herstellung von ge färbten Lacken oder Lackbildnern, Lösungen und Produkten aus Acetylcellulose, Nitrocellulose, natürlichen Harzen oder Kunstharzen, wie Polymerisationsharzen oder Kondensationsharzen, z. B.
Aminoplasten, Al kydharzen, Phenoplasten, Polyolefinen, wie Polystyrol, Polyvinylchlorid, Polyäthylen, Polypropylen, Polyacrylhitril, Gummi, Casein, Silikon und Silikon- harzen. Ausserdem lassen sie sich vorteilhaft bei der Herstellung von Farbstiften, kosmetischen Präparaten oder Laminierplatten verwenden.
In den nachfolgenden Beispielen bedeuten die Teile Gewichtsteile, die Prozente Gewichtsprozente, und die Temperaturen sind in Celsiusgraden angegeben.
Beispiel 1
225 Teile 4-Chlor-3-nitro-trifluormethylbenzol werden in einem l-Liter-Autoklaven mit Porzellaneinsatz mit 151 Teilen Natriumsulfit in 260 Teilen Wasser und 250 Teilen Äthylalkohol 10 Stunden unter Rühren auf 120 bis 125 erwärmt. Der Innen- druck erreicht dabei 3, 5 Atm. Man lässt unter Rüh- ren erkalten, verdünnt den Inhalt mit 1, 500 Teilen Wasser von 40 bis 45 und trennt von geringen Mengen öligem Rückstand ab. Die wässerige Lösung wird durch ein Faltenfilter filtriert, mit konz. Salzsäure deutlich kongosauer gestellt und durch Zugabe von 200 Teilen Natriumchlorid ausgesalzen.
Nach 2stündigem Rühren bei Raumtemperatur wird ge nutscht und der Filterrückstand gut abgepresst.
Nach dem Trocknen erhält man etwa 200 Teile 4-Trifluormethyl-2-nitrobenzol-sulfonsäure.
Die Reduktion zur 4-Trifluormethyl-2-aminobenzol-sulfonsäure erfolgt nach gebräuchlichen Methoden, wie der nach Beohamp, durch katalytische Reduktion usw. Die 4-Trifluormethyl'-2-aminobenzol- sulfonsäure ist als freie Säure in Wasser sehr schwer löslich, die Adkalisalze dieser Säure sind in Wasser sehr leicht löslich.
Beispiel 2
14, 4 Teile ss-Naphthol werden in 800 Teilen dest.
Wasser mit 15 Teilen 30%iger Natronlauge und 25 Teuen Natriümcarbonat gelöst. Diese Lösung wird auf 0 abgekühlt. Gleichzeitig werden 24, 1 Teile 4 Trifluormethyl-2-aminobenzolsulfonsäure mit 10, 5 Teilen 30 % iger Natronlauge in 200 Teilen dest.
Wasser gelöst, auf 0 abgekiihlt und unter Rühren mit 25 Teilen konz. Salzsäure versetzt. In 10 Minuten lässt man bei 0 bis 5 6, 9 Teile 100 % iges Natriumnitrit in 20 Teilen Wasser gelöst zutropfen. Zur Beendigung der Diazotierung rührt man 15 Minuten bei 0 bis 5 nach. Die Kupplung erfolgt bei 5 bis 10 sehr rasch. Nachdem alle Diazoverbindung zugege- ben ist, rührt man 2 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur nach. Dann erwärmt man auf 75 bis 80 und gibt 25 Teile Bariumchlorid, gelöst in 100 Teilen Wasser hinzu, erwärmt dann noch 1 Stunde auf 80 bis 90 , filtriert und wäscht mit heissem destilliertem Wasser nach.
Nach dem Trocknen erhält man ein oranges Pul- ver, das Kunststoffe wie PVC, Lacke usw. in reihen orangen Tönen mit ausgezeichneter Migrations-und tJberlackierechtheit färbt. Die entsprechenden Salze des Calciums, Strontiums und Mangans geben Pi'gmente mit ähnlicher Nuance und gleichen Eigenschaften.
Beispiel 3
17, 5 Teile 2-Hydroxynaphthalin-3-carbonsäure anilid-4'-sulfonsäure werden in 200 Teilen destilliertem Wasser mit 7, 5 Teilen 30 % iger Natronlauge gelöst und bei 25 bis 30 durch Zutropfen von 40 % iger Essigsäure auf pH 6 gestellt. Zu der erhaltenen Suspension werden 30 Teile krist. Natriumacetat zugegeben. Bei 30 bis 35 lässt man dann in 30 bis 35 Minuten unter Rühren eine nach Beispiel 1 hergestellte Diazosuspension aus 24, 1 Teilen 2-Amino-4trifluormethylbenzolsulfonsäure zufliessen. Man rührt 4 Stunden bei Raumtemperatur zur Beendigung der Kupplung. Dann erwärmt man auf 75 bis 80 und gibt eine Lösung von 25 Teilen Bariumchlorid in 200 Teilen Wasser zu.
Man rührt eine Stunde bei 85 bis 90 , filtriert dann und wäscht mit heilssem de stilliertem Wasser, bis im Filtrat keine Chlorionen mehr nachweisbar sind.
Nach dem Trocknen bei 100 und 10 mm Hg g erhält man 35 Teile eines roten Pigmentfarbstoffes der Formel

der Kunststoffe wie PVC in kräftigen roten Tönen von sehr guter Migrations-und Lichtechtheit färbt.
Der Calciumlack desselben Farbstoffes ergibt gelbstichig rote, der Strontiumlack orange Nuancen mit ähnlichen Eigenschaften.
Beispiel 4
15, 0 Teile Acetessigsäure-4-chlor-2, 5-dimethoxyanilid werden in 250 Teilen destilliertem Wasser durch Zugabe von 7, 5 Teilen 30% iger Natronlauge gelöst, mit 0, 2 Teilen Blutkohle klarfiltriert, das Filtrat mit destilliertem Wasser auf 400 Teile und 30 gestellt und durch Zutropfen von 40 % iger Essigsäure auf pH 6 gestellt. Dann werden 20 Teile krist. Na triumacetat zugegeben und bei 30 bis 35'mit einer nach Beispiel 1 aus 12, 5 Teilen 2-Amino-4-trifluormethylbenzol-sulfonsäure hergestellten Diazosuspension gekuppelt. Zur Beendigung der Kupplung wird 1 Stunde bei 30 bis 35 nachgerührt und dann auf 80 erwärmt.
Bei dieser Temperatur gibt man eine Lö- sung von 12, 5 Teilen Baribmchlorid in 50 Teilen Wasser zu, rührt dann eine Stunde bei 85 bis 90 , filtriert und wäscht mit heissem destilliertem Wasser, bis im Filtrat keine Chlorionen mehr nachweisbar sind. Nach dem Trocknen bei 95 bis 100 und 10 mm Hg erhält man ein gelbes Farbpulver der Formel

Beispiel 5
18, 8 Teile 2-Hydroxynaphthalin-3-carbonsäure werden in 400 Teilen destilliertem Wasser bei 40 mit 15 Teilen 30% iger Natronlauge gelost, klar filtriert und das Filtrat durch Zugabe von 40% iger Essigsäure auf pH 6 gestellt. Man gibt 30 Teile Borax hinzu und kuppelt dann bei 30 bis 35 mit einer aus s 24, 1 Teilen 4-Trifluor-methyl-2-aminobenzolsulfon- säure hergestellten Diazosuspension. Das scharlachrote Natriumsalz des Farbstoffes fällt kristallin aus.
Man rührt zur Beendigung der Kupplung 2 Stunden bei 30 bis 35 . Dann erwärmt man auf 75 bis 80 und gibt 12 g Calciumchlorid, in 50 Teilen destillier- tem Wasser gelöst, hinzu, rührt dann eine Stunde bei 80 bis 90 , filtriert und wäscht mit heissem destilliertem Wasser nach. Nach dem Trocknen erhält man ein rotes Pigment der Formel

das PVC sehr ausgiebig in gelbstichig roten Tönen mit sehr guter Migrationsechtheit färbt. Der Bariumlack desselben Azofarbstoffes ergibt in PVC schar- lachrote Töne.
Beispiel 6
65 Teile Polyvinylchlorid, 35 Teile Dioctylphthalat und 0, 2 Teile des nach Beispiel 3 erhaltenen Pigmentes werden miteinander verrührt und dann auf einem Zweiwalzenkalander wahrend 7 Minuten bei 140 bis 150 hin und her gewalzt.
Man erhält eine kräftig rot gefärbte Folie. Die Färbung zeigt sehr gute Licht- und Migrationsecht- heit.
Verwendet man ausser der angegebenen Menge Farbpigment noch 5 Teile Titandioxyd, so wird ein roter Pastellton erhalten.
Beispiel 7
0, 25 Teile des nach Beispiel 3 erhaltenen Pigmentes werden mit 40 Teilen eines Alkyd-Melamin-Ein- brennlackes, welcher 50 o Feststoffe enthält, und 4, 75 Teilen Titandioxyd 24 Stunden in einer Stangensühle gemahlen. Der erhaltene Lack wird auf eine Alu- miniumfolie in dünner Schicht aufgestrichen und während einer Stunde bei 120 eingebrannt. Man erhält einen roten Lackanstrich von sehr guter Lichtund Uberlackierechtheit.
