Hydraulically or pneumatically operated contact device, in particular for contact sleepers. The invention relates to a hydraulic or pneumatic:
actuatable contact device, in particular for contact thresholds, with a pressure-sensitive sensing element containing the liquid or gas as pressure medium and a housing connected to it on the one hand, in which a cylinder is arranged vertically, which influences an electrical circuit when the pressure medium is applied contains flowing pistons and with axially arranged,
overflow channels surrounding the piston are provided. Contact arrangements of this type can be used wherever a pressure pulse or a prolonged increase in pressure is to be displayed in the form of an electrical signal. They who are preferably used for traffic counting and control, with every pedestrian or vehicle that exceeds the contact threshold, each triggering an electrical pulse.
With a Kontaktan arrangement of the type in question, this is done, for. B. in that the arranged under the surface of the roadway pressure-sensitive sensing element transmits pressure pulses to the piston, which influences the electrical circuit of a switch. In a known contact device of this type, two arranged in a housing, connected in this circuit, are to influence the electrical circuit,
Contact pins isolated from each other by the pressure medium are briefly connected to each other by a contact bridge arranged on the piston at each pressure pulse acting on the piston. This device has various disadvantages. On the one hand, an increase in oxidation and an increase in the contact resistance with the number of contacts is unavoidable, which makes contact formation unsafe over time.
On the other hand, the piston must have a certain size so that the contact bridges can be attached to it and the necessary contact pressure can be applied. The masses to be moved with each pulse and the size of the force of gravity, taking into account the buoyancy on the piston, determine the sensitivity. This is the smaller, the greater: the mass to be moved by the piston and the resulting force acting on it at rest.
The invention is based on the object of designing the contact device so that these parts no longer occur.
The contact device according to the invention is characterized in that the rays of a light source directed onto a photocell belonging to a control device and penetrating the transparent or translucent pressure medium can be interrupted by the piston.
In this way, the mechanical contacts subject to oxidation are avoided. Furthermore, the piston no longer has to carry a contact bridge and can therefore be designed to be very light, that is to say with a low mass.
In particular, the contact device can be designed in such a way that the piston is a hollow cylinder closed at the top and consists of a material with a low specific weight.
Its buoyancy in the pressure medium can be increased if a bubble of air or another gas is provided in the piston above the pressure medium.
Two bolts are expediently provided to limit the piston stroke. A simple embodiment is obtained when the light source and photocell are arranged outside the housing and this consists of a transparent or translucent material. In this case, the opaque cylinder must have two diametrically opposed openings, which are temporarily covered by the piston, for the passage of the light rays.
To adjust the photocell and the light source, a device for generating test pulses is expediently connected to the pressure medium chamber between the sensing element and the piston, and the photocell and the light source are arranged in an outer housing that surrounds the housing and is displaceable in the direction of the housing axis. A device for generating test pulses can be designed as a rubber ball.
In the drawing, an embodiment of a contact device according to the invention is presented. 1 shows schematically a contact device with a sensor shown in section, FIG. 2 shows an axial section through the part of the contact device containing the piston.
A sensing element 2, which is preferably designed as a steel tube with a round or oval cross-section, is closed on one side and connected to a pipeline 4, 4 'on the other. This can have a smaller inside width than the sensing element 2 and consist of rubber or a similar material.
It connects the sensing element 2 with a tubular, in the exemplary embodiment U-shaped housing 5, which consists of a transparent or translucent material and in which a cylinder 8 is perpendicular and spaced from the front wall of the housing or from the upper edge when the housing is open is arranged.
Feeler 2 and pipeline 4, 4 'are complete, - cylinder 8 and housing 5 so far filled with a transparent or translucent, vonzugaiweise liquid Druckmit tel 3, for example paraffin, that a piston 10 contained in cylinder 8 always remains immersed.
This piston 10, acted upon by the pressure medium 3, is axially displaceable in such a way that in one end position it covers two diametrically opposite openings 9 provided in the cylinder wall and releases them in the other. In the execution example the openings 9 are covered when the Kol ben 10 is in its rest position. To limit the piston stroke, the cylinder 8 has two bolts 12, 12 'serving as a stop.
In the cylinder wall, a longitudinal groove 11 extending from the opening 9 over the entire piston running path is provided, which forms an overflow channel surrounding the piston. It can. several overflow channels, also in the form of bores in the cylinder wall or in the piston 1: 0, can be provided.
The piston 10, which can be displaced in the cylinder bore 8 ', is designed as a hollow cylinder closed at the top and consists of a material with a low specific weight. As a result, it has a very low weight. As a further measure to increase the sensitivity of the contact device, the effective weight of the piston 10 is reduced in that a bubble of air or another gas is provided in the cavity 10 ′ of the piston 10 above the pressure medium 3. The buoyancy of the piston 10 in the pressure medium 3 is increased by this bubble.
The greatest sensitivity is recognized when the weight is only slightly greater than the buoyancy. Tests have shown that in this setting the device itself still responds to a child with a bicycle, even if the sensing element 2 is inserted fairly deep into the road surface 1.
In an outer housing 6 that surrounds the housing 5 and is displaceable in the direction of the housing axis, a light source 13 and a photocell 15 are arranged so that with correct adjustment and a position of the piston 10 exposing the openings 9, light beams through the housing wall, the openings 9 and the pressure medium 3 go and act on the photocell 15. In the exemplary embodiment, the outer housing 6 is divided. This lets you see the light source 13, which is provided with a reflector 14, and the photocell 15 in the circuit of a relay 16 can easily be inserted into the cutouts provided for this purpose,
and in addition, the sensor housing 6 can be clamped in the desired position on the housing 5 by means of screws which are arranged in bores 6 '.
To adjust the light source 13 and the photo cell 15 and to check whether the device is working, a device for generating test pulses is connected to the pressure medium chamber. In the exemplary embodiment, the connection is made via an intermediate piece 7 'connected between the housing 5 and the pipe 4', the connection channel 7 'of which is connected to an axial bore 7' connecting the cylinder bore 8 'and the pipe 4' .
The housing 5 is embedded in the inter mediate piece 7 that the axial bore T, which has the same clear width as the cylinder bore 8 ', is coaxial to this. On the connecting side of the intermediate piece 7, a connecting piece is provided, on which the pipe 4 'is clamped by means of a clamp, ring 4 ".
The connecting channel 7 ″ leading radially outward from the axial bore 7 ′ opens into a connecting piece 18, onto which a rubber ball or the like filled with pressure medium 3 is placed.
The method of operation of the device is as follows: If a vehicle presses on the sensing element 2 lying in the roadway cover 1, then part of the pressure medium 3 is pressed into the pipeline 4, 4 'and from there into the cylinder bore 8'. As a result of this increase in pressure, the piston 10 is lifted to the upper stop 12, thereby releasing the path for the light rays from the light source 13 directed onto the photocell 15. So Tange the photocell 15 is exposed, is the relay 16; which works together with a counter, for example, excited.
Even if the pressure increase lasts for a long time, for example if a vehicle stops above the sensing element 2, the piston 10 immediately returns to its starting position because its own weight is greater than its buoyancy and because the overflow channel 10 'a Displacement of the pressure medium 3 from the space below the piston 10 allows. The immediate return of the piston 10 to its starting position is important so that the contact device is ready for acceptance again as quickly as possible after each pulse.
In .der Ausigangsstelllung an exposure device of the photocell 15 is prevented and the relay 16 is therefore de-energized.
The same effect as a pressure on the sensing element 2 has a pressure on the rubber ball 17. The piston 10 only briefly releases the path of the light rays.
Oscillations of the pressure medium 3, which occur with greater pressure, cause further undesirable heights after the piston 10 is lifted for the first time. The counting of these rapidly successive pendulum strokes is avoided in that the relay 16 is made sluggish, for example: by using a capacitor.
