Device for extinguishing and preventing the spread of fire by atomizing and / or distributing extinguishing liquid The invention relates to a device for extinguishing and preventing the spread of fire by atomizing and / or distributing extinguishing liquid, which is connected to a distribution network for the extinguishing liquid .is and, in the event of extinguishing, it is distributed over the area to be monitored via a nozzle with a downstream spray device.
Such known devices are usually directly connected to a suitable supply system, eg. B. the pressurized water line connected (wet operation). However, it is also known to fill the distribution network for the extinguishing liquid, due to fire regulations or the temperature in the rooms to be monitored, with compressed air, with de ren sudden Druokabfagil only the water or another extinguishing liquid in the distribution network from one Supply line flows in (dry operation).
Some systems are set to wet operation in summer and dry operation in winter to prevent freezing. They are in particularly fire-endangered rooms, such as storage rooms, hospitals, high-rise buildings, hotels and restaurants, department stores, large garages, car silos, laboratories, paint spray booths and production dumps as well as on ships, especially on passenger ships, partly due to strict fire regulations. built-in.
A certain disadvantage of the known fire extinguishing devices of the type described so far is that the nozzles, which, depending on the design and installation height above the floor, are suitable for sweeping over a certain area of, for example, about 7 to 15 m2 and are arranged in an appropriate distribution on the ceiling break through and therefore have a disruptive effect, especially in ship cabins, department stores, sales and exhibition rooms and other rooms. There is also the risk that such nozzles z.
B. in garages and narrow passages th are damaged.
The aim of the invention is to create a fire extinguishing device which does not have the disadvantages described, in its rest position is invisibly placed behind the ceiling or wall cladding: and only in the alarm state automatically from its rest position by the pressure of a monitoring device in the distribution network released extinguishing liquid is pushed ver in its extinguishing position.
According to the invention this goal is achieved by the fact that the device consists of a stationary, to which normally, i. H. in the idle state pressureless and dry extinguishing agent network connectable and a sleeve at its free end which carries the nozzle and the spraying device and is displaceable relative to the nozzle and guided on this,
and that the extinguishing agent network is filled with the extinguishing liquid under pressure via a valve controlled by a monitoring device in the alarm state and the nozzle is moved into the extinguishing position.
The free end of the nozzle is expediently provided with a seal with respect to the inner surface of the sleeve, so that no water can escape at this point even in the alert position (= extinguishing position).
The device can also be provided with a temperature fuse, which is arranged in front of the nozzle opening, both in the rest position and in the extinguishing position of its final release, for example due to temperature increase. This temperature fuse can be formed by a fusible link, bimetallic strip or by a Glaskol ben, which contains a boiling liquid at a certain temperature.
The interconnection of such a thermal fuse is not necessary in every case, since the distribution network for the extinguishing agent is dry and unpressurized when idle. It is recommended in all cases in which the nozzles are used for active local fire fighting. If all nozzles that are connected to a distribution network were put into operation at the same time in the event of a fire, the extinguishing effect at the actual location of the fire would only be reduced due to the strong pressure drop for the extinguishing agent in the distribution network.
By equipping the nozzles with a temperature fuse to release the water outlet, water is only sprayed where it really burns. If a fire spreads, one nozzle after the other responds.
The temperature fuses can, however, be left out if, for example, you want the formation of an even water flow (water curtains and waterways).
The device according to the invention has the advantage that it is practically bent during the entire time of its installation and in this rest position not only does not disturb the ceiling or wall structure, but at the same time, for example, by means of a front panel or the like / or mechanical damage is protected. In addition, damage caused by curiosity or inattention is also avoided with certainty, which can arise, for example, from the destruction of the temperature protection often consisting of a glass vial with a low-boiling liquid.
By appropriately arranging the screens in front of the spraying devices of the atomizer nozzles, it can be ensured that there is no noticeable interruption of the ceiling or wall structure at the assembly points of the nozzle by making appropriate, appropriately made of the same material; insert the panels made of the cladding into the openings for the nozzle with a slight force fit.
The fire extinguishing device according to the invention can be installed without difficulty in particular in those places where a panel, for example for a ceiling heating, to achieve better sound absorption and the like. a. is provided.
The device is expediently mounted in the retracted state in the opening to be covered by a panel. The nozzle extends as soon as the pressure occurs in the feed line. Once the extinguishing process has ended and the water supply to the entire distribution network is shut off, the nozzle remains in the open position and must be returned to its rest position by hand. This has the advantage that after actuation of the system all nozzles are extended and can be checked in their extinguishing position. No nozzles can be overlooked and any missing temperature safeguards can be added.
Further details of the extinguishing device according to the invention emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a central longitudinal section through the fire extinguishing device in the rest position.
FIG. 2 shows the same view as FIG. 1 in the extended extinguishing position of the device.
Fig. 3 is a schematic representation of the device according to the invention in its rest position behind ter a ceiling panel.
FIG. 4 shows the same view as FIG. 3 in the extinguishing position of the device.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the fire extinguishing device according to the invention consists essentially of the stationary, connected to the extinguishing agent network, e.g. B. the line 20 (FIG. 3), the connectable connector 1 and the sleeve 2 which carries the nozzle 3 at its free end 2a and is movable relative to the connector 1.
At its free end 1a, the connector 1 is provided with a seal 4 in the form of an O-ring, which is guided in a groove 5 delimited by a thickening 6. Due to the outer surface of the two beads 6, parallel guidance of the sleeve 2 on the socket 1 is guaranteed. This guidance is additionally supported by the union nut 7 which is screwed onto the upper end 2b of the sleeve 2.
A nut 8 with a threaded shoulder 9 is attached to the upper end 1b of the connecting piece 1 and is used for connection to the LösohfIüssigkeitsverteilernetz, for example the line 20 (Fig. 3, 4).
As shown in FIG. 1, the nozzle 3 can be designed in one piece with the sleeve 2, but can also be designed as an exchangeable individual part. The baffle plate 10 forming the spray device can be of any design and is located at a certain distance from the nozzle opening 13. The distance between the nozzle opening 13 and baffle plate 10, which is connected to the nozzle 3 via the two lateral arms 11, 12 , is adjustable by means of the threaded bushing 14 on the sleeve 2.
The exact ge position can be fixed by means of the counter nut 15, which is adjustable on the external thread 16 on the lower part 23 of the sleeve 2 with respect to the threaded bushing 14. The exact distance between the nozzle opening 13 and the plate is due to the dimensions of the temperature fuse 17, which is formed in a manner known per se by a small glass bulb with a low-boiling liquid. It is known that the triggering conditions for fire extinguishing devices can be set to an accuracy of a few degrees C with such temperature safeguards, depending on the medium used.
In order to avoid mechanical damage to the upper edge of the container 17, a seal 18 made of a suitable material, for example polytetrafluoroethylene, can be used between the mouth opening 13 and the container. Similarly, a second seal 19 can be provided to avoid destruction in the loading area of the bottom portion of the container 17.
In Fig. 2, the embodiment of Fig. 1 is shown in its extinguishing position. The same reference numbers are used for the same parts. It can be seen that the extinguishing position is limited by the stop of the obe ren bead 6 on the union nut 7.
The fire extinguishing device according to the invention has proven itself to be excellent despite its connection in the idle state to a pressureless distribution network, as long as a suitable early warning system is connected to ensure that the extinguishing agent flows into the distribution network in the event of an alarm and the device is timed before the temperature safety device goes through 17 moves from its rest position to its extinguishing position.
This can be brought about, for example, by a time relay or by responding to a suitable early warning device at a temperature below the destruction temperature of the temperature fuse 17.
In Fig. 3 an assembly example of the device according to the invention is shown in the rest position. You can see the dry u. pressureless pipeline 20, which is mounted between two beams 22, 23 of a concrete ceiling 21 to which the device according to FIG. 1 is screwed. On the beams 22, 23, the intermediate ceiling 24 is hung by suitable supports 25, 26.
In the area of the mouth of the device according to the invention, the intermediate ceiling 24 is provided with a recess 27, into which an insert 28 of the same dimensions as the recess 27 is inserted with a press fit, which is removed when the device according to the invention is moved into its extinguishing position shown in FIG is, the nozzle with the baffle plate is moved ver in its working position.
To move the device from the ge in Fig. 3 to the position shown in Fig. 4, a certain pressure of the extinguishing liquid is sufficient. In each case, the device according to the invention is connected to the available, dry and pressureless distribution network. The normal pressure between 2.5 and 6 atmospheres is sufficient in any case for the required shift to the extinguishing position.
