A certain number of instantaneous bleeding clockwork mechanisms are known, certain particular applications of which relate, for example, to date mechanisms.
We find in all these types of mechanism an organ which is linked to the basic movement which drives, at least momentarily, and this at a generally slow speed so as not to overload the basic movement, a mobile element which is displaced by a well-defined winding stroke, against a spring which, at a given instant, corresponding to the moment of blasting, releases the movable element which then moves instantaneously with a disarming stroke.
All of these known types of mechanism drive an indicator member, either directly by the action of a nozzle of the movable element acting on a toothing of said indicator member or either by means of a complementary element or pawl. In all cases, the nose of the element or the pawl working with the teeth of the indicator member is held elastically against the latter so as to always remain in engagement with said teeth.
On the other hand, as the element which is to be returned to the denture has a relatively large mass, it follows that the friction force resulting from the return spring is relatively high compared to the forces necessary for the operation of the mechanism itself. said. There is then generally a delicate dilemma, namely to reduce the friction forces as much as possible by running the risk of seeing the mechanism disturbed by vibrations or accidental external forces, or else, formally ensuring the maintenance of the element running the risk of having too high frictional forces which significantly reduce the characteristics of the basic movement.
It will be seen that it is practically impossible to arrive at a rational solution to this problem, and this especially for self-winding wristwatches of relatively small size.
The above-mentioned problem becomes even more important if one considers more complex mechanisms such as those indicating the date and the day of the week, in which there is a complementary mechanism which is superimposed on the first. In this type of mechanism, in addition to the drawbacks mentioned above, there is the fact that the complementary indicator member. in this case the day disc, poses a new problem in that it tends, if the device which drives it is too flexible, to travel under the action of its inertia a distance greater than that corresponding one step away from the gear.
We find again the dilemma which consists in choosing between a mechanism ensuring a certain locking security by causing very great losses by friction sometimes impossible to bear by the basic movement or then, in choosing a mechanism likely to be driven by the basic movement running the risk of having from time to time a double blast of the disc of the days.
The object of the present invention is a mechanism which overcomes these drawbacks by absolutely ensuring operating safety while reducing friction losses as much as possible and this by further eliminating all risks of accidental bleeding from two steps of the tube. indicating organ.
This timepiece mechanism comprises a movable element capable of moving with a relatively slow winding stroke and an instantaneous unwinding stroke by driving a pawl working with the teeth of an indicator member and is characterized by the that said pawl is mounted floating and guided, during the cocking stroke, by the teeth of the indicator member and by a profile defined so that it can jump a tooth and return to the field of the teeth and then continue its course along a defined trajectory so that,
during the disarming stroke, it is constrained by its initial stroke along the determined trajectory, to move in the direction of the teeth of the indicator member in order to make it jump by one step. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of a mechanism according to the invention applied to a calendar watch indicating the date and the day.
Fig. 1 shows a plan view of the elements of the mechanism in a position corresponding to the end of the winding or in the trigger position.
Figs. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are plan views. schematic, specifying the working conditions during the winding stroke, the release position and the disarming stroke.
In fig. I note the basic movement 1 comprising a days cam 2 integral with a non-drawn day wheel performing one revolution per day and synchronized with a minute cam 3 carried by a timer wheel performing a whole number of revolutions per day. day. At a determined time, for example 30 minutes before the blasting is triggered, the day cam lifts the beak of a rocker 4 guided by a rocker axis 4A in a form input of the basic movement so that the end of flip-flop 4B comes into the action field of the timer cam.
The latch is linked by an articulation with a complementary latch 5 which works, on the one hand, with a rewinding sort res 6 and on the other hand with a date indicator member 7.
A pawl 8 comprising a pawl 8 is freely adjusted on the rocking axis. Firstly. a profiled entry 8A working with a non 9 face of the basic movement and, on the other hand, a beak 8B working with the teeth 10 of a wheel integral with the day indicator member which can only rotate in a defined direction corresponding to the drawing in the direction of clockwise because a sau toir 11 controlled by a spring 12 prevents any movements in the opposite direction.
The pawl is mounted freely on the axis of the rocker and is limited in its movements only by the profiled entry working with the tenon and its nose working with the teeth.
In fig. 2 we find the elements described above but in a different position corresponding to the end of the arming, or to the trigger position. We mainly notice the rocker axis 4A which is at the end of its winding position controlled by the timer cam 3 acting on the end of the rocker 4. In this position, the timer cam is ready. in releasing the end of the rocker and thereby letting the rocker instantly return to its initial position.
The pawl 8 also occupies an extreme position corresponding to the end of the winding stroke and its profiled entry 8A works with the tenon 9 integral with the base movement so that the beak 8B of the pawl is brought back into the field of the den. ture 10.
In fig. 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 one notices schematically dif ferent positions of the essential element of the mechanism, that is to say the click In fig. 3 we note, in a position corresponding to the start of winding, the rocker axis 4A ready to move along the path 13 by driving the pawl whose nose 8B slides on a tooth 10 of the teeth of the indicator member according to the path 14 1 while the tenon 9 works with the zone 8A-1 of the profi lée entry 8A in order to prevent, for accidental causes, the removal of the pawl from the teeth. Finally, during this arming function, the indicator organ remains immobile under the action of the 11.
In fig. 4 the rocker axis 4A continues its trajectory 13 and the rocker nose 8B goes down again @ in the field of the teeth according to the trajectory 14-2 and this necessarily because the tenon 9 works on the area 8A-2 of the profile entry specially defined for this purpose.
In fig. 5 we notice the rocker axis which always continues its trajectory 13 while the beak 8B of the pawl follows a well-defined trajectory 14-3 controlled by the tenon 9 sliding freely with a very slight play in the profiled entry 8A -3.
In fig. 6 note the rocker axis having reached the extreme tripping position and ready to start again for its instantaneous disarming travel according to the trajectory 13. The tenon 9 works freely in the zone 8A-3 of the profiled entry which defines rigou The trajectory 14-4 of the ratchet nose 8B in the direction of the tooth 10.
In fig. 7 we notice an interesting position, while the rocker axis 4A still continues its trajectory 13, the tenon 9 has just left the zone 8A-3 of the profile which guided it and moves away from it approximately along the trajectory 15 , while the nose of the pawl 8B has not yet touched the tooth 10 towards which i1 moves along the path 14-4. This position is interesting to analyze. It is in fact only the mass of the pawl driven at a high speed in a well-defined direction which ensures the trajectory of the beak of the pawl 8B so that the latter comes to bear on the tooth that it must drive.
In fig. 8 we note the rocker axis 4A arrived in its rest position while the nose of the pawl 8B is also in its rest position after having made the teeth jump one step. In this particular position, the tenon 9 works with the zone 8A-4 of the profiled entry so as to prevent any lifting of the nose of the pawl out of the teeth, which constitutes an absolute rusting of the indicator member.
The device described offers the advantage of reducing the frictional forces as much as possible while ensuring absolute operating safety. Finally, it should be noted that different embodiments can be designed ensuring the same operating principles. One can for example imagine that the rocker axis can be directly secured to the pawl and itself be armed against a spring.
On the other hand, the shape of the pawl, especially the part called the profiled zone, can be varied to the extreme. It is in fact conceivable that the pawl itself carries a tenon which works with a profiled entry cut out in the base movement; likewise the profiled entry can in fact be replaced by other profiles forming part of the periphery of the pawl and coming to bear against a mating surface of a fixed element of the base gauge.
Finally, it should be noted that the mechanism described by way of example according to an application for triggering the day disc of a date mechanism can be applied to other similar cases such as those relating to indica hour-minute or any other time-dependent phenomenon requiring the blasting of an indicating member.
