Ein Isolierblock 53 ist am Herdgehäuse mit Ab stand hinter jeder Öffnung 52 auf gleicher Höhe durch .einen Halter<I>53a</I> auf einer passenden Platt form 54 befestigt. Kontaktlamellen 55 und 56 sind auf der Oberseite eines jeden isolchen Blockes nahe bei dessen Enden befestigt, und ;
Die beschriebenen Heizvorrichtungen sind mit Temperaturfühlerelementen versehen, da dies im all gemeinen wünschbar ist, doch kann man eine oder mehrere der Heizvorrichtungen selbstverständlich ein facher ausführen ohne ein solches Reglerelement. Es wurde festgestellt, dass die beschriebenen, mit einem Temperaturfühler ausgestatteten Heizvorrich- tung;
Electric Cooking Appliance The present invention relates to an electric cooking appliance and aims to improve those heating and cooking processes which are usually carried out in portable vessels on the flat heating plates of a conventional cooking range.
The cooking device according to the invention is characterized by at least one portable heating device with an electrical heating element and a handle made of electrically insulating material, in which electrically conductive inserts are present, which have exposed contact surfaces and with electrical conductors, the heating element in Connected, further characterized by socket means for the immediate reception of the handle and with contacts,
which can be connected to an available electrical energy source and come into contact with the contact surfaces of the handle when the handle is inserted into the socket means.
The training described allows the creation of a versatile and useful, portable electric heater that z. B. can have the shape of a cooking vessel or container in combination with the electric heating element, this new container having a much larger area of application than known cooking vessels, which are nothing more than kitchen appliances. In contrast to this, Ida's new vessel with its built-in heating device is designed in such a way that it is suitable and decorative enough to additionally look like a serving plate, e.g. B.
to be used directly at the dining table, and there is no problem with the possibility of increasing the possibilities of use beyond the limits set by the housewife Eden previously available devices of this type. To: the more versatile application possibilities there is the advantage of higher efficiency and better safety through improved thermal insulation.
The heating device as such is a portable electric cooker with new and superior means for connecting the heating element to an energy source, these connection means making the connection process much easier and also improving the appearance of the cooker considerably.
Embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawings and explained in more detail below.

Fig. 10 is a circuit diagram of a suitable circuit for feeding and controlling the portable electric heater.
Fig. 11 shows in perspective the upper part of another embodiment of the cooking device.
FIG. 12 shows a socket contact and a pre-built casing, and FIG. 13 is an analogous illustration for the case of a connected portable heating device.
The cooking device shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing is designed so that: it can be hung on a wall or placed on a type of cabinet or the like. The actual stove has a relatively low, horizontal base part 10: the front part protrudes to a horizontal support and work surface 11 to erge ben, and an oven part 12, which extends along the back of the work surface 11 up and then partially over the work surface extends forward.
Within this upper and partially protruding part of the stove there are two electric ovens 13 and 14 which are provided with doors containing windows. The oven 13 on the left has a larger capacity and is arranged with its longitudinal axis parallel to the front part, while the smaller oven 14 on the right, directly adjoining it, takes up the space between the right end of the large oven and the right side of the stove, whereby the two ovens are the same height.
A switch field extends: above the front part of the oven section and is set back somewhat with respect to the oven doors. Immediately below the oven doors there is an inclined front section 16 in which a lamp 17 is centrally arranged for illuminating the support and work surface 11.
Air inlet openings are arranged in the inclined part 16 on both sides of the lamp 17, and filters 18 and 19 made of metal tape or the like are removably inserted in these openings. Two suction fans, not shown in the drawing, are provided in the housing behind the openings in order to draw in air through them and expel it on the back of the stove, expediently through an outer pipe that leads to the outside of the building, in which the stove is housed.
These fans are used to ventilate the zone above the work surface 11 and are individually controlled by switches 20 and 21 on the related sides of the front panel 22, which is substantially vertical and between the inclined part 16 and the work surface 11 is arranged on.
The double oven arrangement described in relation to a lower above base part and the arrangement of fans are features which are known per se and require no further description in order to completely understand the nature and the working of the present improvement. The latter essentially affects that part of the hearth. what. -r is usually used for cooking on flat heating plates and includes a plurality of open heating elements.
In the known hearth mentioned above, the elements are placed on the top of the base part; in the case of the cooking device illustrated in FIG. 1, however, it can be seen that there is no; such open heating elements and the plate 11 is uninterrupted and serves only as a support surface.
This elimination of the usual heating plates has become possible through the use of a new; n and verb: ss, erten heating device that forms an independent device or a food container. Such a heating device is denoted in Fig. 1 with 23; it rests on the plate 11 and interacts with stove connections and controls. As illustrated in detail in FIGS. 2-5, the device 23 has a hollow base 24 having a bottom and uninterrupted side walls with an inwardly angled flange 25 which extends around the opening at the top of the portion 24.
A separately formed vessel 26 for receiving food and the like is built into the lower part 24 and releasably connected to it.
The vessel 26, the shape of which corresponds to that of the lower part 24, in this embodiment has an outwardly angled upper flange 27 which is opposite the flange 25 of the lower part. An endless seal 28 is inserted between the flanges 25 and 27. The bottom of the vessel 26 is provided with four molded outer corner projections 29 in which threads are cut.
Appropriate fastening screws 30 are inserted into the projections 29 of the vessel through openings in the bottom of the lower part 24 in order to pull the same against the lower part and thus against the upper flange seal 28. The screws 30 are sealed in the bottom of the lower part by O-rings 31 or equivalent means.
A known electrical resistance heating element 32 is attached to the underside of the bottom of this vessel 26, for example by casting, and it should be noted that the bottom and the side walls of the vessel 26 are at a distance inward from the surrounding parts of the Have lower part 24 to create an interior 33. The latter of course has a thermal insulating effect and can be filled with appropriate insulation material to further reduce the heat transfer from the vessel to the lower part.
The connecting conductors 34 and 35 of the electrical heating element 32 are led to the adjacent side wall of the lower part and to a handle 36, which also serves as an elec trical contact member.
A temperature sensor disk 37, containing a resistor, the resistance value of which changes proportionally to the temperature, is also attached centrally to the bottom of the vessel 26, and its connecting conductors 38 and 39 are guided to the same side wall of the lower part 24 for connection to the outer handle 36 .
This handle has a rectangular body 40 made of heat-resistant synthetic resin or other insulating material and rests with one of its longitudinal sides against the mentioned side wall of the lower part 24. As FIGS. 3-5 show, four metal inserts 41-44 provided with heads are let into recesses provided for this purpose in the handle, here in a row, namely two from below and two from above. Each insert is sealed by an O-ring 45 in the handle and its shaft has a cross bore.
The inserts 41-44 intersecting bores in the handle body extend from the outside of the relevant recesses to the surface of the handle resting against the lower part 24. The side wall of the lower part 24 is provided with correspondingly aligned holes.
According to FIG. 4, the horizontal bore 46 assigned to the insert 43 is enlarged at its mouth, also with regard to the aligned hole in the lower part side wall. An end flange of a hat-shaped seal 47 is located in the enlarged mouth of the bore 46, while the cylindrical part of the seal passes through the wall opening. The seal 47 consists of insulating material, and an insulating washer 48, on the other hand, is arranged on the inside of the lower part wall.
The end of the conductor 38, in this case from the temperature sensor disk 37, is provided with a perforated clamping shoe 49, and a long screw 50 is from the inside of the lower part 24 through the clamping shoe 49, the washer 48, the seal 47 and through the handle hole 46 is plugged through and screwed onto the shaft of the insert 43.
The inserts 42, 41 and 44 are connected in the same way to the other conductor 39 of the temperature sensor disk 37 and the two connecting conductors 34 and 35 of the electrical heating element 32, and the handle is thereby fixed to the lower part 24, the exposed four heads of the inserts 4l-44 contact surfaces for connecting the heating device.
If necessary, the inserts can all be arranged on the same side of the handle and be designed with tubular instead of solid shafts. be det. An equally large handle 51 made of the same material is outside on the opposite side wall of the lower part 24 - by usual union fasteners, such as. B. screws are brought.
This further handle has no contact function and: serves, together with the handle 36, only as an aid for conveniently carrying the heating device 23 described:
In order to use these and other similar electrical heating devices in the cooker combination according to FIG. 1, the essentially vertical cladding sheet 2 at the rear of the plate 11 is provided with a series of horizontal longitudinal openings 52, the size and arrangement of which is such that ider contact handle 36 of such a heating device, if .this is on the plate 11, pushed through who can.
Behind each opening 52 there is a connection socket and a control unit of the type shown in FIGS. 2, 3 and 6. Add. 2 shows in full lines the heating device 23 in an ineffective retracted position from which it is pushed inward into the position indicated by dash-dotted lines,
to plug the contact handle 36 through the opening 52. On the basis of Fig. 3 one also fails to recognize that the width of this opening is much larger than the handle, which results in a noticeable play space between the side surfaces of the handle and the vertical edges of the cladding panel at the opening. For reasons that will be explained later, this margin is of practical importance.
An insulating block 53 is attached to the stove housing with distance behind each opening 52 at the same height through .ein holder <I> 53a </I> on a suitable platform 54. Contact blades 55 and 56 are attached to the top of each isolated block near its ends, and;
they extend essentially horizontally towards the associated opening 52. Two further lamellae 57 and 58 are attached to the underside of the block a little further inward of the former lamellae.
The lamellas are relatively wide and are arranged in such a way that they touch the four contacts 41-44 of the handle when the handle 36 is inserted, when the heating device, as described, is pushed into the position mentioned for connection and use. With the outer lamellas 59 and 60 connected wires 59 and 60 are used to connect the electrical Heizele Mentes 32 to an electrical power supply network,
while wires 61 and 62 connected to the lamellae 57 and 58 similarly connect the temperature sensor device 37 to a circuit for regulating the thermal energy. While the electrical connections made in the manner described and illustrated each have a:
single contact spring leaf and a one-sided contact button go, each of the handle contacts can be provided with two heads that protrude freely on the underside or the top of the handle, in which case two contact blades are used that come into contact with both heads at the same time.
As a safety precaution, a push button switch 63 is set in the end face of the clamping block 53, which is normally in the open position by spring tension. The arrangement of the switch is affected in such a way that it only closes the circuit when the handle of the heating device is pushed in.
Such a switch can be used in the circuit of the heating element 32, @so that the voltage is only applied to the contact blades when this switch is closed. It is clear that a plurality of such electrical heating devices 23 can be used simultaneously in the cooker in a number which corresponds to the socket means of the type described for this purpose. The stove shown in Fig.l provides four cooking areas at the same time.
The aforementioned clearance between the handles 36 and the openings 52, together with the width of the stationary contact blades and the equally considerable area of the handle contacts, ver guards a critical position of the heaters and allows a suitable spatial division of the same with this plurality of heaters. In other words, a certain lateral displacement of a connected heating device is permissible without the heating process suffering from it.
The heating devices 23 can vary in design, namely with regard to the content, in order to be able to use a number of vessels of various customary sizes. The heater shown in Figure 7 and 8 has a lower part 64, ider has no inwardly gekehr th upper flange.
The vessel 65 is here much higher and therefore has a larger capacity, and a sealing ring 66 is inserted all around between the upper end of the base 64 and the vessel 65. The design is otherwise the same as that of the previously described heating device, as indicated by reference symbols with a prime.
In any event, the aforesaid device 66 makes the various parts of the combination waterproof, so that the entire unit can be immersed in a cleaning solution or the like. Furthermore, the vessel parts can obviously be replaced by new, identical or different vessel parts, and the same lower part can be used as a unitary component during manufacture for use with vessels of different sizes.
If one wishes to offer the user of the cooker a free panel heating element of a conventional type, the heating device shown in FIG. 9 is used. One wrapped in the usual white,
Here, the electrical heating element 67 is fixed in a box-like unit 68 similar to the lower part of the above-described heating device 23 and is provided with a central temperature sensor unit 69, also of a known type. The sensor unit and the heating element are again connected to contacts of a handle 36 ", as in the examples described.
The heating devices described are provided with temperature sensing elements, since this is generally desirable, but one or more of the heating devices can of course run a times without such a control element. It was found that the heating device described, equipped with a temperature sensor;
n with the usual external circuits, a much more sensitive and precise control is possible than the commercially available electrically heated frying pans and the like. For example, the accuracy of a conventional frying pan with such a temperature control is limited to plus or minus 25, while one of the new heating devices described maintains the temperature within plus or minus 3 with the same setting.
A typical control circuit is shown in the circuit diagram in Fig. 10, and it can be seen that a heating coil 70 of a bimetallic switch 71 with Odem temperature-sensitive resistor 37 is connected in parallel to open and close a contactor 72 in the main heat circuit depending on the temperature to control.
The safety switch 63 responds to close the circuits of the heating element 32 and the sensor when inserting the handle 36, as previously explained. The first-mentioned circuit has connection conductors 73 and 74 and the sensor circuit has a step transformer 75 in order to feed the controller with a lower voltage. This circuit is known per se, but it works with the new Heizvor directions with the already mentioned noticeably increased effectiveness.
The cooker is of course provided with controls so that the various bimetal switches can be set individually. For this purpose, four buttons 73-76 are located in the switch panel 15 on the top of the cooker. The heating devices can be controlled separately in this way with regard to the temperature.
11 illustrates another cooker design for the same heating devices, this cooker 77 being smaller, free standing and having a conventional oven 78 under the work surface 79.
The latter carries the individual heating devices, and a vertical rear cladding sheet 80 is provided with two openings 81 and 82, behind which the above-described socket means are arranged for connecting the handles of the heating devices. Regulator with buttons 83 and 84 are provided on the rear panel to regulate the circuits.
In all of the exemplary embodiments, the buttons and socket outlet openings can have identification colors for matching; H. each opening would have a different particular colored marking and the button of the associated regulator would be marked with the same color or in some other suitable manner.
12 and 1.3 show an opening 52 'which is provided with two spring doors 85 and 86 which normally close this opening and are opened by the handle 36 when the same is inserted. A further locking means could be a sliding door, which is pushed away from the handle when it is inserted into the opening.
The new cooking device: enables an electrically heated, portable cooker to be put into operation with the aid of a rigid connection; the vessel is actually only plugged into a socket with the handle, so that no connection cable is required. The handling of the vessel for this purpose is extremely easy, the work being considerably simplified by the provision of large contact areas.
If only two stove embodiments are shown, it can be seen that other designs are possible in which the heating device described and the socket means that interact with it can be used with advantage.
Whether they are used in spatial combination with an oven or as a separate cooking device, the present improvements not only create new and superior individual cooking and heating devices, but also allow a certain room layout and working method in contrast to a random arrangement distributed, separately heated devices.
It can also be seen that the construction described in detail above has the following advantages: a) A direct and essentially rigid connection of the electric cooker with cooperating connection socket means is used to feed the former through the latter; Moreover, the nature of the connection is such that extremely easy and convenient connection and disconnection of the cooker from the socket means is made possible.
b) The connection socket means are normally covered when not in use; and the socket means have switching means in order to switch the terminals off normally from the power supply network, so that only when the cooker is brought into operative connection with the socket means, the circuit of the supply line itself is actively closed.
c) In the portable electric cooking unit, different cooking vessels (food containers) with different volumes can be optionally inserted and connected to the lower part, firstly to facilitate the production and delivery of a series of such units of different sizes and secondly to replace an original vessel with one to enable others of the same or a different size.
d) The portable .electric cooker contains automatic temperature control means of increased sensitivities and accuracy, the connection means serving for the supply and function of such regulating means are designed the same or similar to those for supplying the heating element of the portable heating and cooking device.
e) The above-described combination of a plurality of electric cookers and connection socket means forms a new device for the simultaneous execution of several cooking processes on a limited area and also allows the production of a stove including an oven, such a combination all or some of the usual heating plates replaced.
f) In the case of the cooking unit, a plurality of portable electric cookers work together with socket means housed in a common housing, and the construction and installation of the socket means and the connection terminals of the cooker is such that. an efficient use of the space is achieved,
without requiring precise placement of the cookers in relation to the socket means for proper connection and operation. The latter feature allows a single cooker to be switched to a preferred location, the socket used for the power supply, and a clear advantage can be inherited in the fact that the cooker does not have to be brought into a critically precise position during use B> _ </B> which is very convenient for the housewife, and when using a plurality of stoves, these can be placed in a crowded row.
This type of individual connection also reduces the possibility of switching off an operating cooker by unintentionally moving it.
