Thermal insulation device The present invention relates to a thermal insulation device for pipes, comprising a mattress of insulating material in the form of a strip intended to be wound around a pipe.
Such thermal insulation devices frequently take a mattress of synthetic material foam which is intended to be fixed around a pipe with the aid of a strip wound around the mattress. Other means are also known for fixing the mattress of insulating material around a pipe, means using an envelope of synthetic material, the edges of which intended to cover each other form two gutters intended to hang on to one another. be.
In all of these known insulation systems, nothing is provided so that the insulating blanket can hold itself around the pipe, without external fixing members. The isolation device which is the subject of the invention aims to remedy this drawback. It is characterized in that the edges after winding, are provided with hooking members formed of loops and synthetic thread hooks interpenetrating to close the joint between the edges of the strip.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the thermal insulation device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the mattress of insulating material that this thermal insulation device comprises.
Fig. 2 is a cross-sectional view of an envelope capable of being placed around the insulating blanket according to FIG. 1.
Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view showing the insulating blanket according to FIG. 1 and the casing according to FIG. 2 in position around a pipe. This thermal insulation device for pipes comprises a mattress 1 of insulating material, such as synthetic foam or other suitable insulating material, in the form of a strip.
As shown in fig. 1, preferably the opposite edges 2 and 3 of this strip are cut at an angle to facilitate their recovery after winding around a pipe 4 (see fia. 3). In order for this insulating mat 1 to hold itself around the pipe 4 after winding, the edges 2 and 3 of the strip 1 are provided with hooking members formed of loops 5 and hooks 6. These hooking members 5 and 6 are carried by ribbons 7 and 8, attached by gluing against the edges 2 and 3.
Preferably, these hooking members 5 and 6 are placed only over a part of the thickness of the strip 1, part being located adjacent to the outer face 9 of the strip 1 after winding, as the < / B> -shows fig. 3.
Thus, a certain insulating layer is placed between the pipe 4 and the fastening members, which avoids any harmful influence on them in the event that very high temperature differences occur in the pipe 4.
These hooking members 5 and 6 carried by tapes 7 and 8 are preferably those sold commercially under the registered trademark Velcro. In this case, one of the tapes 7 exclusively carries loops forming a fabric of the pin-looped type, while 2autre tape 8 exclusively carries hooks. However,
it is clear that these tapes 7 and 8 could be fixed alternately on one edge or the other of the strip 1, so that loops 5 and hooks 6 could be simultaneously on both edges of the strip 1 ,
a section of ru ban 7 carrying loops 5 always located opposite a section of ribbon 8 carrying hooks 6.
In the event that the tapes 7 and 8 themselves have a self-adhesive face, these tapes 7 and 8 could then be fixed against the edges 2 and 3 by simply pressing their self-adhesive face against said edges.
It will be understood without further from the view of FIG. 3 how is the insulation blanket 1 placed around a pipe 4 by winding around this pipe.
V application of the outer part of the edges 2 and 3 against each other causes the interpenetration of the hooks 6 in the loops 5, which closes the joint between the edges 2 and 3 of the strip 1. Thus, the mattress 1 of thermal insulation holds itself around the pipe 4, without it being necessary to use other means @de coating.
However, for aesthetic reasons, it may be advantageous to cover the insulating blanket 1 with an envelope. Such an envelope 10 has been shown in FIG. 2. This envelope is preferably formed of synthetic material, PVC or other such material.
This casing 10 is intended to enclose the insulating blanket strip 1 after it has been wound around the pipe 4. The seal between the two opposite edges 11 and 12 of the casing 10 is intended to be closed using means of 'hooking identical to those used to keep the mattress rolled up 1.
Thus, a ru ban 7 carrying loops 5 is attached by gluing against the internal part of the edge 11, while a ru ban 8 carrying hooks 6 is attached by gluing against the external part of the edge 12. The superposition of the two edges 11 and 12 causes the interpenetration of the hooks 6 in the loops 5 ensuring a stable closing of: the casing 10 at: its junction point, as shown in FIG. 3.
The thermal insulation device described above can be implemented without any difficulty around any pipe, the width of the strip 1 as well as the casing 10 being provided according to the diameter of the pipes to cover.
In the event that elbows or T-branches have to be covered by the insulation, notches will be made both in the mattress 1 and in the envelope loppe 1-0.
