Fig. 6 einen Schnitt gemäss Schnittlinie VI-VI der Fig. 4.
Measuring device, in particular for measuring depressions in crucible walls
The present invention relates to a measuring device, in particular for measuring depressions in crucible walls.
It is known that in crucible furnaces, in particular induction furnaces, depressions, so-called washouts, arise in the Tie gel walls as a result of the bath movement. In order to avoid breakthroughs in the crucible wall, periodic measurement of the depressions is therefore of great importance.
The present invention aims to provide such a measuring device. According to the invention, this is characterized by a movable, hand-operated probe part at least partially guided in a cover.
An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention will then be explained with reference to figures. It shows:
1 shows a schematic representation of a meridian section through a crucible with a built-up measuring device for measuring depressions in the crucible wall,
FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the measuring platform of the measuring device according to FIG. 1,
3 shows a view of the actuating and reading part of the measuring device,
FIG. 4 is a plan view of the part according to FIG. 3,
FIG. 5 shows a detail from the measuring device with the feeler pin and its guide, in longitudinal section, analogous to FIG. 1,
6 shows a section along section line VI-VI in FIG. 4.
A crucible 1 for melting or holding and overheating metals, particularly cast iron, has a crucible wall 3 with an inner wall surface 5. On the outside of the crucible 1, three claws 7 are evenly distributed over its circumference, which, with guide sleeves 11, serve to accommodate support bolts 9 of a frame 13. A platform 15 accessible by the operating personnel is suspended from the scaffolding.
The framework 13 also serves to accommodate a measuring device 17, which has a measuring scale 19 attached to a main guide tube 21 in the measuring part protruding above the stage. This main guide tube 21 is provided with two diametrically offset slots 23 and 25 and covered by a ceiling sleeve 27. Inside the main guide tube 21 there is a movable tube 29 which is fastened to a coupling piece 31 by means of a bolt 33. The coupling piece 31 also serves to receive a threaded bolt 35, on the free ends of which a sleeve 39 with a ball handle 37 is screwed, which sleeves 39 are provided with markings 41.
In the head of the coupling piece 31 there is a bolt 43 which connects a pull chain 45 to the moving tube 29 via the coupling piece 31. At the other end of the pull chain 45, a ball handle 47 is attached, which rests on a holder 49 when the moving tube 29 is raised.
The measuring scale 19 is provided with measuring cords and with a central position mark 51 and two boundary marks 53 and 55.
Immediately above the framework 13, a clamping ring 57 is placed around the main guide tube 21, which screws a screw 61 into the clamping ring 57 by means of a lever 59, which can be grasped and pivoted on a handle 63 and thus pulls it together so that it pulls the main guide tube 21 stuck. By loosening the screw 61 and consequently the clamping ring 57, the main guide tube 21 can be moved relative to the clamping ring 57, i. H. be raised and lowered.
Spacer bores 65 are located at predetermined intervals in the main guide tube 21 in order to maintain the height of the main guide tube 21. The main guide tube 21 is slidably guided at the top in a bearing sleeve 67, while its lower free end is designed as a threaded sleeve.
The tube 29 fastened at one end to the coupling piece 31 is provided with a guide ring 69 at the other end. A connecting piece 70 is used to connect the tube 29 to a chain 76. This connecting piece 70 is provided at its other end with a slot 71 in which the bolt of the fastening chain link 73 is suspended.
The chain 76 is guided in a guide bow 74, which is attached by means of a union nut 75 and a nipple 80 to the threaded sleeve part of the main guide tube 21 so as to be displaceable and easily detachable.
At the free end of the chain 76 a feeler pin 77 with a feeler head 78 and a protective tube 79 is arranged.
The main guide tube 21, together with the entire movable part, can be pivoted about its longitudinal axis, with a pointer 81 indicating the rotary position of the main guide tube 21 and thus of the feeler pin with respect to marking heads 83 mounted on a plate 82.
By pulling the ball handle 47, the pull chain 45 and with it the coupling piece 31 with the moving tube 29, the connecting piece 70 of the chain 76 are lifted and the feeler pin 77 attached to the end of the chain is drawn in radially against the crucible axis or the main guide tube.
In terms of weight, these parts are set in such a way that when the ball handle 47 is pulled out of its holder 49, the movable part is lowered under its own weight and consequently the chain 76 with the feeler pin 77 in the pipe bend 74 and the subsequent straight pipe piece is pushed in front of it until the probe head 78 abuts the inner wall surface 5 of the crucible wall 3. The chain 76 in the guide bow 74 is guided in such a way that the position of the probe head 78 corresponds to a clear position of the coupling piece 31 with the sleeves 39 and the markings 41 and the exact radial distance and therefore the exact radial position of the inner wall surface 5 of the crucible wall 3 can be read on the measuring scale 19.
By rotating the main guide tube 21 in one of the eight positions indicated by the marking heads 83, the measuring system and thus the probe head 78 are rotated 45 "each, so that the inner wall surface 5 of the crucible can be measured at a certain height at eight points or any intermediate positions with regard to washouts can.
By loosening the clamping ring 57, the main guide tube 21 can be lifted effortlessly, for example by the amount between two spacing bores 65 following one another, whereupon the clamping ring 57 is tightened again and the main guide tube 21 with the measuring device remains in the raised position. Corresponding measuring points can in turn be recorded in this by rotating the device. This makes it possible to measure the entire inner wall surface 5 of the crucible.
The center position mark 51 is indicated on the measuring scale 19. When the probe head 78 rests against the inner wall surface 5 of the crucible wall 3 and the markings 41 of the sleeves 39 are at the level of the central position mark 51, the crucible wall 3 has its normal thickness at this measuring point.
If, on the other hand, these markings 41 of the sleeves 39 lie on the upper limit mark 53, this means that at this point the crucible wall 3 is thicker by a predetermined tolerance value than corresponds to the mean value. If, on the other hand, the markings 41 of the sleeves 39 drop to the limit mark 55, d. H. If the probe head 78 protrudes beyond the normal distance from the longitudinal axis of the main guide tube 21, the crucible wall 3 has been flushed out to an unacceptable level at this point, so that the crucible and its repair must be checked more precisely.
The construction of the above-described measuring device is extremely simple and very easy to use, since it can easily be dismantled into a stage part, the main tube and the button. In addition, this measuring device can be operated by hand with ease, whereby the measurement result can be interpreted and evaluated immediately on a scale provided with limit marks.
The present device therefore enables better monitoring of the crucible walls and reduces the risk of breakthroughs.
In such induction furnaces, an induction heating coil is normally arranged around the crucible.
The coil must be precisely centered during assembly in the furnace frame so that it runs absolutely coaxial to the crucible to be used. For this purpose, a tube is pushed over the protective tube 79 and attached to the tube 79, for. B. by means of a cotter pin. With this extended sensor (not shown) the coil can be centered in the sense of the measurement methods mentioned.
