Closure for lights The invention relates to a closure for lights with a cap-like cover that can be placed on the housing, preferably made of a translucent material.
Such known closures have a two-armed angle lever, which can be pivoted about an axis fixedly arranged in the frame under the action of a spring -and reaches with one of its two lever arms in the area of the cap edge of the cover and by means of this cap edge over a dead center position
can be pivoted either into the locking position or into the release position: is. In these known closures, the spring rests on the back of the angle lever with elastic pressure and thus exerts a certain braking effect,
which is greatest precisely in the area of the dead center of the swivel area and thus calls into question the reliable snapping of the locking lever into the closed position when the cover is placed on the housing.
Since the housing is located on the ceiling of a room or is even sunk into it and the cover is usually placed on a ladder from below, it is very important that the locking levers snap into place precisely, especially since:
they are inaccessible when the cover is on. In addition, these locking levers should press the cover as tightly as possible against the housing so that it does not cause any loosening noises and is dust-tight. All previously known locks meet these conditions, if at all only inadequately or only for a short period of time or show signs of fatigue after being snapped open and closed several times.
According to the invention, a solution has been found for a locking construction, which is characterized in that the tensioning lever has a lever arm connected to a tension spring and in the closed position resting on the back of a pressure bar or cover, and a lever arm at an angle to it
has release arm and also has a stop tab which, in the Offenstel'lung of the tensioning lever, keeps the point of application of the tension spring on the lever arm behind a dead center position, from which the tensioning lever automatically pivots into the closed position by gently pressing its release arm.
The arrangement of a tension spring on the arm of the locking lever exerting the closing pressure is of decisive importance for its safe functioning and the purpose of limiting the opening movement of the locking lever by means of its stop tab is
to relocate the way to overcome the dead center position of the point of application of the tension spring at the beginning of the touchdown movement of the cover, in order to let the hands still holding the cover feel that all locking levers on the housing snap into the lock position.
In this way, the firm and dust-tight fit of the cover on the housing can be achieved and checked. The removal of the cover from the housing can be done in the usual manner.
With reference to the drawing, a Ausführungsbei will be explained game of the invention. Fig. 1 shows a lamp with a rectangular housing and a translucent cover diagrammatically,
with cover and housing broken open. 2 and 3 show a part of the housing and the cover in cross section, including a lock in the closed position and in the blocked position.
The housing 1 made of sheet metal has a high wall in order to enclose the cavity 2 required to accommodate the fluorescent tubes and sockets as well as their choke coils. This Ge housing 1 has an outwardly protruding flange 3 and inside a support leg 4 which is angular in cross section and is set back above the edge of the housing.
The cover 5 consists of a thin-walled hollow body made of a material that diffuses the light, the edge of which carries a reinforced frame 6 which has a pressure bar 7 on the leg engaging in the housing 1, which is rigidly connected to the frame . Instead of the pressure bar 7, short holding jaws can also be provided.
The snap lock interacts with these retaining jaws or this pressure bar 7 of the cover 5 and essentially consists of a tensioning lever 8 which sits pivotably on a horizontal axis 9 formed from two axially identical pins and is under the action of a tension spring 10 which holds it either in the hold position or in the open position.
The Hebedachse 9 sits in a fork 11, the long arm 12 on the underside of the support leg 4 protruding from the housing wall be fastened. One end of the tension spring 10 is attached to a point 13 on the long arm 12. The point of application 14 of the tension spring 10 provided on the tensioning lever 8 is arranged at a radial distance from the pivot axis 9.
The pivoting range of the clamping lever 8 is limited in its closed position (Fig. 2) by the pressure bar 7 in its open position (Fig. 3) by its stop tab 8 ', which rests on the outer edge 17 of the fork legs 11.
The fixed point of application 13 of the tension spring 10 and the axis of rotation of the clamping lever 8 consisting of the same axis pin 9 are connected by a dash-dotted line 15 with each other, which at the same time represents the dead center position of the tension spring 10 and its point of application 14 ge on the clamping lever 8.
2 shows that this point of application 14 in the closed position of the clamping lever 8 is far removed from the dead center 16, where the spring tension for applying the closing force of the clamping lever 8 can take full effect.
If the tensioning lever 8 is pivoted into the open position against the action of its spring 10, the point of application 14 of the tension spring 10 only barely exceeds the dead center 16, since the stop tab 8 'of the tensioning lever 8 on the fork legs 11 comes to a position. In the open position of the clamping lever 8, the cover 5 together with the pressure bar 7 can be freely pulled downwards.
The tensioning lever 8 has a release arm 18 which, when the tensioning lever 8 is open, extends into the area of the pressure bar 7 of the cover 5 (FIG. 3).
When the cover 5 is pressed onto the housing 1 in the direction of the arrows 19, 20, the pressure bar 7 hits the release arm 18, whereby the clamping lever 8 is initially moved with the point of application 14 of the spring 10 over the dead center 16 and after it is exceeded, the pressing the cover 5 on the housing 1 by means of the tension of the spring 10 supported. The print bar 7
thereby comes to sit snugly on the sealing support 22, which is glued onto the support leg 4. Such snap devices are located on each wall of the housing 1, as a result of which the cover is held securely in the closed position.
To remove the cover 5, it is grasped from the side with the hands and pulled off the housing 1 against the direction of the arrows 19, 20. In this case, the pressure strips 7 pivot the clamping levers 8 so far that they automatically move into the open position under the tension of the spring 10 exceeding the dead center 16. The clamping levers 8 remain in this position until the cover is pressed onto the housing 1 again.
