Fig. 1 das Schema des ersten Ausführungsbeispiels,
Fig. 2 das Schema des zweiten Ausführungsbeispiels.
Device for guiding conveyor belts in a work machine
The subject of the present invention is a device for guiding conveyor belts in a work machine. In numerous technical processes in a wide variety of production areas, machines are used which, as conveyors for the material to be processed, use webs of material or belts, which, stretched between rotatable, more or less distant rollers, form endless belts which, in continuous motion from a Roll run the other run.
The material placed on these belts or webs of fabric is conveyed along the path through which the belt itself runs. Applications of this kind can be found, for example, in paper machines, textile machines, calenders, dryers, in certain ovens, etc.
In order to guarantee the evenness of the product, it is important that the said belts always maintain their exact position in relation to the rollers around which they revolve, while, in the absence of suitable measures, they always have the tendency to shift sideways, namely because of the unavoidable small irregularities of the rollers or belts, various friction influences, imprecise parallelism of the rollers, etc.
In order to avoid this disadvantage, devices have already been proposed which, fixedly laid at the edges of the tape, work pneumatically by means of an air jet which more or less hits the tape and a receiving element, depending on whether the tape is in the prescribed position or differs from the same. The receiving organ then influences, by means of an amplifier, a control organ which corrects the tape position in a suitable manner.
There are also known guide devices of the type described, which operate in the same way by means of light beams and photoelectric cells. But neither these nor the pneumatic devices can be used if work has to be carried out in special closed spaces, for example under vacuum, in special gas atmospheres, etc.
With regard to pneumatic devices, it is clear that no air jet would sound the room atmosphere, and on the other hand the jet itself would feel the influence of the room atmosphere; the optical devices themselves would have to be provided outside the room and work through sight glasses; but in this case it can easily happen that these sight glasses tarnish or become covered with dirt or other material, so that the operation of the device could be impaired.
These deficiencies are eliminated by the device according to the invention, which is characterized in that at least one measuring element is provided for the tape position, which consists of an electrical coil with an open magnetic core which is firmly attached to the tape edge itself, in such a way that the magnetic flux generated by the coil flows at least partially through the edge of the tape, and every change in the transverse position of the tape with respect to said magnetic core causes a change in the magnetic reluctance of the latter, which in turn manifests itself as a change in impedance of the coil and a change in that of the coil the absorbed current,
that this change in current affects a variable gain amplifier system which returns the tape to its prescribed position as soon as it should experience a shift in relation to said position for any reason.
In the accompanying drawing, two exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown.
Show in detail:
Fig. 1 the scheme of the first embodiment,
Fig. 2 shows the scheme of the second embodiment.
In Fig. List 1 denotes a conveyor belt whose transverse position should always be kept constant.
In the vicinity of its two edges are two coils 3, 3 'with an open magnetic core 2, respectively. 2 'is provided in such a position that the tape partially covers the air gap of the core, so that its magnetic flux passes at least partially through the tape edge. The coils 3, 3 ′ are fed from an alternating current source 4 in parallel with one another. In the example shown in Fig. 1, the two currents picked up by the coils 3 and 3 'in the rectifiers 5, respectively. 5 'rectified and fed to the two coils 6 and 6' of a regulating member 7 known per se, with hydraulic amplification.
The device works as follows: As long as the band 1 is in the desired position, the band edges each cover part of the air gaps of the two cores 2 and 2 'in such a way that the magnetic reluctance of the latter and consequently also the impedances of the two coils 3 and 3 'are equal to each other. For this reason, the currents picked up by the coils are also identical to one another, as are those rectified currents which are fed to the coils 6 and 6 ′ of the regulator device 7. The effect of the mentioned two coils in the regulator is opposite to one another so that the regulator itself does not intervene as long as the two currents are equal to one another.
If for any reason the tape should shift slightly from the prescribed position, the air gap portion covered by the tape edge increases in one of the cores 2, 2 ', while it decreases in the other core. The impedances of the two coils, 3, 3 'change in the opposite sense; the currents absorbed and those which are fed to the coils 6, 6 'of the regulator element 7 are no longer the same; the regulator intervenes and displaces the movable steel tube 8, which is normally held in the central position by the two springs 9 and 9 ', so that a different pressure is generated in the two lines 10 and 10'.
This differential pressure is used in the regulator element in order to return the strip 1 precisely to its prescribed position. The associated devices have not been shown because they are known per se. Instead of using two reels for the two tape edges, it is also possible to manage with only one reel 3, as shown in FIG. In this case, the second coil 6 ′ of the regulator element 7 is fed with constant current by the energy source 4, and the voltage of the source itself is stabilized in a suitable manner by element 11. The mode of operation is the same as that of the device according to FIG. 1.
It is also possible to feed only one coil 6 of the regulator organ 7 and to compensate for its effect by the springs 9, which in this case exert a certain force on the movable organ 8 even in the rest position.
If necessary, suitable amplifiers can of course be switched on in the electrical circuits between the measuring coils 3 and the regulator element 7. In addition, the regulator element 7, which acts hydraulically in the illustrated embodiments, can be used by any other control amplifier with different modes of operation; it suffices that it can be influenced by the two coils 6 and 6 'or by a single coil, as described above.
It is clear that for the proposed device to work correctly, the band, the position of which is to be checked, must at least at the edge consist of magnetic material. In the case of tapes made of non-magnetic material, however, it will always be possible to apply an uninterrupted or essentially uninterrupted layer of magnetic material to the edges of the same.
The great advantage of the magnetic device described, compared to the known devices mentioned at the beginning, is that coil 3 and core 2 can be installed in completely sealed housings, e.g. B. made of plastic, or that said parts in blocks of a suitable hardened resin, e.g. B. epoxy resin, polyesters or the like can be embedded, so that they can also be used in rooms that contain large amounts of suspension substances or are otherwise contaminated.
