Arrangement for determining the area in which an electrical variable is in each case The subject matter of the invention is an arrangement for determining the area in which an electrical variable, in particular the frequency of the voltage in an electrical network, is in each case.
Arrangements are known whose input voltage is fed to a frequency-dependent scarf device part with a phase angle between voltage and current that is dependent on the frequency to be monitored of the input voltage. This known arrangement contains means that cause a command and / or signal to occur when a predetermined deviation of the frequency of the input voltage from its nominal value occurs, which is reflected by a certain phase angle. An oscillating circuit, for example, can serve as the frequency-dependent circuit part.
It has been proposed to choose the resonance frequency of the frequency-dependent circuit part equal to the frequency of the input voltage at the predetermined frequency deviation and to evaluate the change in sign of the phase angle that occurs when the frequency to be monitored and the resonance frequency are the same as a criterion for the command or signal output only takes place with a certain sign of the phase angle.
In many cases, there is a need, for example in frequency monitoring, a further graduation, i. H. to make a more extensive subdivision into frequency ranges. In the event of short circuits, for example, it is often not necessary to switch off all consumers from the network; instead, it is sufficient to disconnect only those consumers from the network that are most likely to do without the power supply.
In the case of a practically resistance-free short circuit, on the other hand, it may be necessary to switch off all consumers, including hospitals and the like, from the power supply for a certain period of time, since otherwise considerable damage could occur to the network transformers and the generators.
The variable to be monitored can also be a voltage, a power, a current or the like, and the electrical variable evaluated in the arrangement can in turn represent a measure for a mechanical, thermal or other physical variable that is to be monitored. The inventive arrangement described below can, to name just one further example, serve to optically monitor an electrical voltage in such a way that it lights up on a scale according to the range in which the voltage is in each case lights up, which replace the pointer of a conventional measuring instrument.
The task of determining the area in which an electrical variable, in particular the frequency of the voltage in an electrical network, is always achieved is achieved by an arrangement with the identifier that according to the invention the areas are assigned circuit parts that are controlled by a tion of bistable multivibrators indicate whether the electrical variable is above or below one of the limits of the range assigned to the respective circuit part, and that the control signals are fed to bistable multivibrators,
in which both their two stable states as well as the state of the periodic tilting from one to the other stable state as a characteristic of different areas cause a signal to be given. The control signals which each produce the two stable states of a multivibrator are expediently offset in time, e.g. B. at 180.
This utilization of the state of the periodic tilting of a bistable multivibrator offers the advantage that when subdividing into 3n areas, only n bistable multivibrators are to be provided, of which a total of 3n outputs are used in more than 3 areas, i.e. H. in the case of more than one multivibrator, outputs of different multivibrators are grouped together by means of logic circuits such as AND gates and / or OR gates and / or gate circuits and assigned to the same area.
In the arrangement according to the invention, interchangeable elements known per se according to the modular principle are expediently used, which are frequency-independent in an advantageous manner.
The multivibrator outputs associated with the periodic tilting of the bistable multivibrators are expediently formed by transformers, preferably isolating transformers, through which the currents of both stages of the respective multivibrator advantageously flow for reasons of performance.
In the following, the arrangement according to the invention will be explained with reference to FIGS. 1 to 14, for example, with the states of the associated with the various areas of the variable to be monitored, in the mentioned example of a frequency relay of the network frequency, in the odd numbered figures Flip-flops are shown, while the even-numbered figures show schematically the circuits.
In Figs. 1 and 2, the case of a frequency relay is shown, for example, which is intended to monitor a frequency range limited by two predetermined frequencies f 1 and f 2. Fig. 1 first shows the course of the phase angle T between current and voltage at the two predetermined frequencies associated with the frequency-dependent circuit parts whose Re sonance frequencies coincide with one of the two limit frequencies of the actual frequency range to be monitored 1I.
In Fig. 2, the circuit of the bistable multivibrator K1 is indicated, the designation for this and the following figures is chosen so that the left stage of the multivibrator is then conductive when the tapped at one frequency-dependent circuit part of the voltage s a has an inductive phase, while the right stage of the multivibrator only becomes conductive
when the voltage t tapped off at the further frequency-dependent circuit part has a capacitive phase. So if pulses are fed to the two inputs of the multivibrator K1 at a distance of 180 due to the inductive phase angle of the voltage s on the one hand and the capacitive phase angle of the voltage t on the other hand, in the area 1I, the transformer IT can be used to indicate that the frequency to be monitored is in area II,
a tcecntecx tension aagegritren wercaen. how rig. i shows, the voltages s and t in areas I and III are both capacitive and both inductive, so that either the right stage of the multivibrator becomes conductive, i.e. H. the voltage that can be taken off at its output disappears (0), or in the case of area III the left stage of the multivibrator conducts and accordingly the voltage at it breaks down.
At the other stage of the bistable multivibrator, as a result of the property of this electrical element, according to which only one of the two stages conducts, a voltage can be tapped as the identification of the corresponding area, which is indicated in the figures by hatching and the identification 1 . Of course, the absence of tension, i. H. Use state 0 to identify the areas.
Since in this exemplary embodiment the output signal in the case of area 1I is obtained between the values 0 and 1 through periodic changes in the potential at the two stages of the multivibrator - and thus also at their outputs - measures must be taken to prevent that when a periodically changing potential occurs at the outputs assigned to areas I and II, the trigger circuits of these areas are influenced.
For this purpose, low-pass filters are expediently used with a cut-off frequency selected with regard to the tilt frequency of the multivibrator, which are connected to the outputs assigned to areas I and II, i.e. H. to the outputs assigned to the areas marked by a DC voltage. These remarks apply mutatis mutandis to an arrangement for monitoring a larger number of areas, as will be described below using examples.
3 and 4 show a frequency relay which indicates in which of four frequency ranges the network frequency is currently located. According to FIG. 4, two bistable multivibrators K1 and K2 are required, since each multivibrator only has 3 states and accordingly only displays three areas. In this example, the electrical voltages that trigger the command or signaling for areas I and II are displayed on the left-hand stage or
removed from the transformer of the multivibrator K1, while the right stage or the transformer of the multivibrator K2 are used to command or signal when the frequency is in the range IV or III.
In Fig. 3, the phases of the voltages s, t and u, which is tapped at a third frequency-dependent scarf device part, indicated in the various frequency ranges Fre. Below that, the states of the two multivibrators in the individual frequency ranges are shown schematically. As in FIG. 1, the representation of the state of the bistable multivibrator K1 in area II means that the multivibrator oscillates back and forth between its two stable states.
5 and 6 illustrate the ratios in a frequency relay with a graduation into five frequency ranges. The main differences compared to the arrangement according to FIGS. 3 and 4 are that a further frequency-dependent circuit part is provided at which a voltage v is tapped, and that two outputs of the two bistable multivibrators K1 and K2 are combined via a gate circuit are,
so that the area III is only signaled with inductive voltage t and capacitive voltage u , whereby the voltages s must be inductive and v capacitance, otherwise one of the multivibrators between its two stable states would swing back and forth, whereby the area II and IV is characterized.
The case of a frequency relay with six frequency ranges is dealt with in FIGS. 7 and 8. Accordingly, a fifth voltage w must be tapped from a further frequency-dependent circuit part. From Fig. 8 it can be seen that four areas are now characterized by combining two outputs of different multivibrators.
This summary is done via gate circuits or OR gates or AND gates, the structure and connection of which are known to the expert, so that it does not need to be discussed at this point.
It should be noted that at the input of the right stage of the bistable multivibrator K1 pulses only appear if the voltage t is capacitive or the voltage w is inductive. The same applies to the right stage of the bistable multivibrator K2 in FIG. 8 with regard to the voltages v and w.
Already Fig. 7 clearly shows that the table showing the phases of the voltages s to w in the areas I to VI is symmetrical to the diagonal. This is shown more clearly in FIG. 9 for the case of seven frequency ranges.
10 shows schematically the structure of a corresponding arrangement which essentially differs from the previous one only in that a further voltage x is obtained at a further frequency-dependent circuit part. Here, too, inputs of the bistable multivibrators are controlled via OR circuits.
FIGS. 11 and 12 illustrate the staggering in eight areas. 13 and 14 finally describe the last expansion of a frequency relay with two bistable multivibrators, ie. H. one in which there is a graduation into nine frequency ranges. It can be seen that, as in the case of FIGS. 11 and 12, signaling is only initiated in all frequency ranges when pulses are supplied to a gate circuit from two outputs of different multi-vibrators.
The left stage of the multivibrator K1 becomes conductive only when either the voltage s is capacitive or the voltage z, which is tapped off at another frequency-dependent circuit part, is capacitive and the voltage u is inductive.
A more extensive graduation can be undertaken by using further bistable multivibrators.
With regard to this arrangement according to the invention, which permits extensive subdivision with minimal effort, it should be noted again that its use is not limited to the case of frequency monitoring, but is generally possible to determine the range in which an electrical variable is located. Furthermore, the selected assignment of the inputs and outputs of the bistable multivibrators is only to be seen as one of several possible embodiments of the invention.
