10' an.
Longitudinally adjustable strut The invention relates to a longitudinally adjustable strut as used in construction as a support or cross bracing. The strut can also be used as an intermediate or corner pillar in decorations and interior fittings.
The longitudinally adjustable strut made of a part with a hollow profile and a rod that can be displaced and clamped therein is characterized according to the invention in that a two-part clamping piece with an outer profile that is smaller than the hollow profile and which cannot rotate therein is arranged on the rod end, with one half between the clamping piece is located on a thread of the rod seated wedge, for the purpose that when the rod is rotated in the hollow profile, the wedge moves on the thread against the clamping pieces and presses them against the hollow profile by expanding.
The drawing shows an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention. It shows: Fig. 1 is a partially cut-away side view of a longitudinally adjustable strut, and Fig. 2 is a section along the line II-II in Fig. 1. The lower part of the strut consists of a profile iron 1 with a square hollow profile 2 and arms protruding radially from the corners 3.
In this hollow profile 2, the round extension rod 4 is inserted, which has a screw thread 5 at its end. The wedge 6 can be screwed onto this thread and the two clamping pieces 9 and 9 'connected by the guide bolts 8 are longitudinally displaceable up to the cross pin 7. The wedge 6 engages between the clamping pieces 9 and 9 'and lies against the inclined surfaces 10, respectively, which strive away from one another. 10 'on. The end of the non-pushed-in end of the rod 4 forms a bolt 11 provided with the rubber buffer 13, under which the spring 12 is located. The same rubber buffer 14 is also located on the standing surface of the profile iron 1.
The rod 4 can now be moved with the clamping pieces 9, 9 'in the profile iron. Once the desired height has been reached, the rod is rotated. Since the clamping pieces and thus also the wedge cannot take part in such a rotation, a longitudinal displacement of the wedge on the thread takes place, namely by one thread pitch per revolution. At the same time, the clamping pieces 9, 9 ′ are spread apart by the wedge 6. This rotation of the rod 4 now takes place until the spread clamping pieces lie firmly against the inner wall of the hollow profile, which is achieved by holding the rod. For the purpose of loosening the rod in the hollow profile, the rod is rotated with respect to the profile iron in the opposite direction than before.
To increase the jamming, the clamping pieces can be roughened on their outside. The rod can also have a flattened point at its upper end for the purpose of attaching a wrench. Instead of square, the hollow profile can also be hexagonal or round with a side groove.
With the illustrated outer profile of the profiled iron 1, an auxiliary wall can be built into existing rooms by simple means, in that the recesses 15 can be inserted into the wooden or other panels when used as intermediate or corner pillars.
