Speed regulation for gas turbine plant operated with liquid fuel The main patent relates to a speed regulation for liquid fuel operated gas turbine plant, in which the main shaft of the gas turbine drives a fuel pump and an electrical generator, which with an electromagnetic regulating valve for the fuel supply to the combustion chamber of the gas turbine is switched together such that the generator and the solenoid of the regulating valve form a closed electrical circuit.
According to the main patent, with such a speed regulation, the regulating valve has a control member which is both under the action of a spring and under the action of the solenoid, which causes a movement in the sense of throttling the fuel supply to the combustion chamber of the gas turbine when the turbine speed increases and the spring load increases However, the electrical circuit is shifted in the opposite direction to the throttle movement by the action of the spring and the fuel supply to the combustion chamber is completely interrupted.
The regulating valve consists of a control member that works together with control surfaces and an armature with a solenoid coil connected to it, the armature being hollow and having a longitudinally displaceable, spring-loaded damping body in its bore. In the electrical circuit, an arbitrarily variable resistor and a breaker switch between the generator and magnet coil is switched on.
The arbitrarily variable resistance allows its setpoint speed to be set as desired within the limits of the operating range of the gas turbine. For an operation of the gas turbine with strongly changing speed, where the required speed is continuously set by hand, such as in a vehicle drive, the result is a very simple, stable one.
Speed regulation. Deviations from the target value, for example due to changes in the resistance in the solenoid coil due to a changed operating temperature or due to mutual displacement of the control piston and the control surface due to different thermal expansion of the various components at different operating temperatures, can be compensated for by simply adjusting the resistance.
However, if a certain speed is to be maintained automatically within precisely prescribed limits, for example when driving an electric generator, the use of an arbitrarily variable resistance is no longer entirely satisfactory.
This disadvantage can be eliminated according to the invention in that the electrical circuit has a frequency-sensitive, adjustable electrical control element between the generator and the magnet coil. The control element can either be powered directly by the generator or by an external power source, for example a direct current battery.
The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing, for example.
Fig. 1 shows an arrangement where the control member from the generator current and Fig.2, where the control member is fed by an external power source.
In Figs. 1 and 2, the fuel delivered by the fuel pump after passage through the regulating valve 12 is guided via line 13 to the nozzle in the combustion chamber, where the working medium required to drive the turbine is gebil det. The regulating valve 12 meters the fuel delivered by the fuel pump.
It comprises the armature 20 slidably arranged in the magnet coil 15 and the star piston 16, which cooperates with the control surfaces 17 and 18. The control piston 16 is via the rod 19 with the armature 20, on which the spring 21 acts, a related party. The generator 10 forms, as can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, with the solenoid 15 together a closed electrical circuit which includes the frequency-sensitive, adjustable electrical control member 24 between the generator 10 and the solenoid 15.
The task of the control member 24 is now to compare the current frequency of the generator running with a prescribed, permanently adjustable setpoint and to convert any deviations into resistance changes so that the regulating valve 12 passes through the line 13 for the required amount of fuel for the prescribed setpoint speed leaves. Such an electrical control element can contain, for example, a filter circuit, the transmission quantities of which in the set working range differ significantly from the transmission quantities outside the working range.
The change in the transfer parameters results in a corresponding change in the current flowing to the control valve, such that a speed below the setpoint value leads to a weakening of the current and, correspondingly, a speed above the setpoint value leads to an increase in the current. The supply of the control member 24 can according to FIG. 1 directly from the generator current or according to FIG. 2 by an external power source, z. B. by a DC battery 33, success gene.
The electrical control element can preferably be equipped with electronic components such as transistors, tubes, etc.
