Fig. 1 zeigt eine Seitenansicht eines Fühlhebelmessgerätes mit aufgesetzter Einspannvorrichtung;
Fig. 2 zeigt eine-Draufsicht des Fühlhebelmessgerätes mit aufgesetzter Einspannvorrichtung;
Fig. 3 zeigt vergrössert die Einspannvorrichtung.
Clamping device for lever dial gauges
The invention relates to a clamping device for feeler gauges which allows the device to be clamped quickly and safely on its housing sides, which are provided with dovetail-shaped strips, without special tools or other aids, depending on the application.
Clamping devices for lever measuring devices provided with dovetail strips, which consist of the actual clamping shaft and a clamping piece with a dovetail-shaped groove, are known per se.
A known embodiment of a clamping device for lever gauges contains a clamping piece that has a dovetail-shaped groove for sliding onto the dovetail strips of the device housing and a bore with an internal thread extending from the dovetail groove to the opposite side of the clamping piece for screwing in the actual clamping shaft. To clamp the clamping device on the device housing, the clamping shaft is rotated after being pushed onto the relevant dovetail bar in this known construction. He presses against the bar and places the dovetail surfaces of the clamping piece on the relevant surfaces of the bar, whereby a clamping is achieved.
The disadvantage of this known construction is that, because of the smooth outside diameter of the clamping shank required for receiving, proper clamping is not possible with the bare hand, but only with the aid of a tool. Therefore a slot for a screwdriver is provided at the free end of the clamping shaft.
When using lever-type measuring devices in practice, this is quite unfavorable because a tool is not always available or to hand. Another disadvantage is that the end of the clamping shank, which is screwed into the clamping piece, is considerably weakened in cross section by the thread, which is usually smaller than the shank diameter, which leads to a reduction in the rigidity of the clamping of the measuring device .
Another disadvantage is that the contact surface which presses against the dovetail-shaped strip has only a small cross-section and thus a perfect clamping is only possible with greater expenditure of force. This creates impressions on the dovetail-shaped strips of the device housing, which impair the good appearance of the measuring device. When the feeler lever measuring device is rotated about the axis of its clamping shaft, which is often required when setting the measuring device, the clamping is also released. This is very disadvantageous. In this known construction, too, in most cases the clamping device with the mentioned tool is no longer accessible when the device is clamped in its holder.
A temporary release and a renewed tightening of the clamping device for the purpose of adjusting the device is therefore impossible.
Another construction provides for a fixed connection of the clamping piece with a dovetail-shaped groove and the actual clamping shank. The clamping piece is slotted at right angles to the course of the groove and is penetrated by a clamping screw on the side. This screw is tightened for clamping, whereby the halves of the clamping piece, which are partially separated by the slot, are pulled together. This construction also has the disadvantage that a tool z. B. a screwdriver is required.
The present invention avoids these disadvantages and is characterized in that a clamping shank of the device has a dovetail-shaped groove and an external thread at its front end and that a threaded collar with a wide contact shoulder is screwed onto the external thread.
In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is explained, for example:
1 shows a side view of a feeler gauge with a clamping device attached;
Fig. 2 shows a top view of the feeler lever measuring device with the clamping device attached;
Fig. 3 shows the clamping device enlarged.
The feeler gauge 1 with feeler lever 2 and display instrument 3 is provided with dovetail-shaped bars 4a and 4b for any receptacle that corresponds to the conditions in which the device is used. The dovetail-shaped groove 5 of the clamping device is pushed onto these strips 4a or 4b. Immediately behind the dovetail-shaped groove 5 there is an external thread 6, which in turn is followed by the clamping shaft 7. A threaded collar 8 with an internal thread is screwed onto the external thread 6 and is provided with a shoulder 10 with a large contact surface.
After pushing the dovetail groove 5 onto the dovetail strips 4a or 4b, the adjusting ring 8 is tightened. Scine: Shoulder 10 - rests against the back of the dovetail strips 11a or 1 Ib, whereby the dovetail surfaces 12a and 12b are applied to the relevant surfaces of the dovetail strip. This enables perfect clamping at any point, even with moderate tightening with your bare hand.
When the adjusting ring is tightened, its wide contact shoulder presses against the dovetail bar on the device housing. The wide contact shoulder ensures secure clamping without damage to the dovetail bar. The cross-section of the clamping shank is not weakened by the thread, because the external thread for the adjusting ring is larger in diameter than the clamping shank. Another advantage is the ease of manufacture of the two relatively simply designed parts from which the clamping device for feeler arm measuring devices according to the present invention consists.
