Diaphragm valve The present invention aims to create a shut-off or switching device for liquid or gaseous media with highly corroding properties, especially for use in the chemical industry and in laboratories. Because of their good corrosion resistance to acids and alkalis, many attempts have been made to shut-off and switching devices of the above Gat device made of non-metallic plastics, such as. B. tetrafluoroethylene or hard rubber to produce.
However, difficulties arose because the plastics, unlike metals, are not dimensionally stable enough, but behave like a living material, similar to wood.
The object underlying the invention is now to find a constructive solution that is particularly suitable for the use of acid and alkali-resistant plastics. In solving this problem, a diaphragm valve was found with a diaphragm firmly clamped on its circumferential edge, the central part of which can either be pressed against an annular valve seat or lifted from the valve seat.
Compared to known diaphragm valves of this type, the one according to the invention differs in that the valve seat is formed on a body made of acid- and alkali-resistant plastic, the at least one recess leading to the center of the annular valve seat and at least one on the outside of the valve seat has leading recess for the passage of a liquid or gaseous medium,
and that the circumferential edge of the membrane, which is also made of acid and alkali-resistant plastic, is tightly clamped between the body and part of a housing surrounding the body. Further details of the diaphragm valve according to the invention follow from the following description and the associated drawing, in which purely, for example, a preferred embodiment and a variant of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated ..
FIG. 1 shows a three-way valve for media containing acid or alkali in a longitudinal section along the line I-1 in FIG. 2.
Fig. 2 shows the valve in plan view with abge cut drive spindle.
Figure 3 is a bottom view of the same valve. FIG. 4 shows a section along the line IV-IV in FIG. 2.
Fig. 5 illustrates a side view of a double three-way valve as a variant.
The valve shown in Figs. 1 to 4 has a housing 10, 11 which consists of a pierced base part 10 and a threaded ring 11 screwed into the same. In the housing 10, 11 are located. an acid and alkali-resistant plastic, preferably tetrafluoroethylene, made body 12 and two be made of the same material be standing membranes 13 and 14, between which the body 12 is arranged. By tightening the threaded ring 11, the organs 12, 13 and 14 have been clamped in the housing 10, 11.
The peripheral edge of the membrane 13 is clamped between a shoulder 15, the housing base part 10 and a flat edge surface of the body 12. In a completely analogous manner, the peripheral edge of the other membrane 14 is clamped between the threaded ring 11 and an opposite flat edge surface of the body 12.
The body 12 has an essentially cylindrical shape and has an axial bore 16 through it. On each of the two mutually parallel end faces of the body 12 there is an annular groove 17 or 18 which surrounds the relevant mouth of the axial groove 16 at a distance. Between the annular groove 17 and the axial groove 16 there is a first annular valve seat 19 which lies in the same plane as the edge surface of the body 12 resting against the membrane 13.
Likewise, a second valve seat 20 is present between the other annular groove 18 and the axial bore 16, which valve seat 20 lies in the same plane as the edge surface of the body 12 resting against the membrane 14.
In the unloaded state of rest, the side of each membrane 13 or 14 facing the body 12 is flat. On its other side, each of the membranes has a peg-shaped thickening 21 or 22 in its central part, which is opposite the valve seat 19 or 20 assigned to the membrane in question. The axial bore 16 of the body 12 is penetrated by a movable in its longitudinal direction bolt 23 ge smaller diameter.
The bolt 23 consists of an acid and alkali-resistant material, for example tetrafluoroethylene. The ends of the bolt 23 engage in recesses in the diaphragm thickenings 21 and 22, and its length is such that the two diaphragms 13 and 14 can never rest on their valve seats 19 and 20 at the same time.
According to FIG. 4, the body 12 has a radially ver running bore 24 which opens into the axial bore 16 and leads to the centers of the two annular valve seats 19 and 20 via the latter. Another, partly radial and partly ax-parallel recess 25 in the body 12 leads to the annular groove 17, while a third recess 26 in the body 12, also partly radial and partly ax-parallel, leads to the other annular groove 18 (FIG. 1).
At the Boh tion 24 and the recesses 25 and 26 is each a pipe 27, 28 and 29 connected, which consists of acid and alkali-resistant plastic, preferably tetrafluoroethylene.
The pipes 27, 28 and 29 each have a conically widened end, which with the help of a threaded nipple 30, 31 or 32, which is screwed into the housing base ax 10, against a conical seat around the outer mouth of the bore 24 or the Recesses 25 and 26 is pressed.
Two support columns 35 are fastened to the housing base part 10 and run diametrically opposite one another with respect to the body 12 and parallel to the axis of the body 12. At their end section remote from the housing 10, 11, the columns 35 are connected to one another by a yoke 36, which is at a constant distance from the housing 10, 11. A spindle 37 is rotatably mounted in the middle part of the yoke 36 and carries a hand wheel 38 at its outer end. In a transverse bore of the yoke 36 sits a pin 39 which engages tangentially in a circumferential groove 40 of the spindle 37 and secures it against displacement in the axial direction.
The spindle 37 is provided with a threaded part 41 which is screwed into a matching threaded hole of a sliding bar 42 kens. The slide bar 42 be located between the yoke 36 and an annular disc 43 which is stuck in a circumferential groove of the spindle 37.
A threaded rod 44, which is surrounded by two sleeves 46 and 47, is attached to each end of the sliding bar 42. The threaded rods 45 and sleeves 46 and 47 run parallel to the Tragsäu len 35 and are arranged such that the sliding bar 42 extends at right angles to the yoke 36. The sleeves 47 are guided in matching bores in the housing base part 10 so that they can be longitudinally displaced. The sliding bar 42, the threaded rods 45 and the sleeves 46 and 47 together form a frame that can be displaced with the aid of the threaded part 41 of the spindle 47, the legs 45, 46, 47 of which run in the direction of displacement and are connected to one another by two leaf springs 48 and 49 .
The ends of the leaf springs 48 and 49 are held by the sleeves 46 and 47 at a fixed distance from one another and from the slide bar 42. The body 12 and the two membranes 13 and 14 are located between the two leaf springs 48 and 49. At the middle part of the one leaf spring 48, a pusher 50 is riveted, which has a spherical cap-shaped end face against a thickening 21 of the membrane on the pin-shaped Ver 13 seated metal cap 51 presses.
The spherical cap-shaped end face of the pusher 50 engages under the influence of the elastic tension of the leaf spring 48 in a conical centering recess 52 which is provided on the outside of the cap 51. In a completely analogous manner, the other leaf spring 49 carries a pusher 53, which engages with a spherical cap-shaped end surface in a conical centering recess of a metal cap 54, which sits on the peg-shaped thickening 22 of the membrane 14.
The use and operation of the membrane valve described is as follows: In Fig.l, the slide bar 42 assumes that extreme position in which it is closest to the housing 10, 11. In this position, the sliding bar 42 strikes against the annular disk 43 of the spindle 37. The leaf spring 48 presses the membrane 13 onto the associated valve seat 19 by means of the pusher 50 and the cap 51, while at the same time the other membrane 14 is lifted from the associated valve seat 20 by means of the bolt 23 (FIGS. 1 and 4).
The leaf spring 49 now only exerts a comparatively weak pressure on the membrane 14. In the valve position described, a liquid or gaseous medium from the Rohrlei device 27 through the radial bore 24, the axial bore 16, through the valve seat 20 in the annular groove 18 and from there through, the recess 26 to the pipe line 29 or in the opposite direction flow, while there is no connection between the pipes 27 and 28 because the membrane 13 pressed against the valve seat 19 blocks a passage from the axial bore 16 to the annular groove 17 or vice versa.
By turning the handwheel 38 and the spin del 37, the sliding bar 42 can be moved into its other extreme position by means of the threaded part 41, in which it strikes against the yoke 36 and has the greatest possible distance from the housing 10, 11. Together with the slide bar 42, the two leaf springs 48 and 49 are moved so that the pressure of the leaf spring 48 on the mem brane 13 decreases and the other leaf spring 49 with means of the pusher 53 and: the cap 54 a stronger elastic pressure on the Membrane 14 exerts.
As a result, the membrane 14 is pressed onto the valve seat 20, while the other membrane 13 is lifted from the valve seat 19 by means of the bolt 23. In this valve position, the two pipes 27 and 28 are now connected to each other, where the flow between the pipes 27 and 29 is now interrupted.
Since the medium flowing through the valve or blocked by the valve can only come into contact with components made of acid- and alkali-resistant plastic, there is a guarantee that no corrosion will occur and that the valve's good blocking effect will not suffer any damage even after long periods of operation . When the valve is operated, there is also no wear to the plastic components because they are not subject to any friction.
The components of the valve that come into contact with the media that are passed through or shut off therefore do not require any lubrication. Another advantage of the valve described is the fact that the parts made of acid and alkali-resistant plastic do not require particularly precise dimensions, so that they can be manufactured and installed without difficulty, whereby the manufacturing costs remain relatively low.
The design shown and described allows the formation of multiple valves in a simple manner, as shown in FIG. 5 using the example of a double three-way valve. The same reference numerals denote those parts that can be found in the Ausfüh approximately example according to FIGS.
By spacers 135, which are coaxially arranged with the support columns 35, the housing 10, 11 is connected to a second, completely identical Ge housing 110, 111, in which a body provided with the valve seats is arranged between two associated membranes.
The threaded rods 45 connected to the sliding bar 42 are elongated and surrounded by a further sleeve 147, which are guided longitudinally displaceably in matching bores of the housing base part 110. The leaf spring 49 arranged between the two housings 10, 11 and 110, 111 now has, instead of the pusher 53 of the first example, a pusher, not visible in FIG. 5, which protrudes on both sides and which on the one hand touches the membrane 14 in the housing 10, 11 and on the other hand on the one membrane in the housing 110, 111 is pressed.
An additional leaf spring 149 connects the free ends of the sleeves 147 with one another and presses against the second membrane in the housing 110, 111 by means of a pusher (not visible in FIG. 5). The housing 110, 111 also has threaded nipples for holding three pipelines in place screwed in.
By turning the spindle 37 with the aid of the handwheel 38, one membrane in the two housings 10, 11 and 110, 111 is simultaneously lifted from its valve seat and the other membrane is pressed onto its valve seat.
It is clear that in a completely analogous design, more than two three-way valves can be arranged one behind the other and coupled with one another. It is of course also possible to use the valves, if desired, not as three-way or switchover valves, but as simple shut-off devices by connecting only two instead of three pipelines.
The example illustrated in FIGS. 1 to 4 could be modified for use as a simple shut-off device in such a way that only a single membrane is present. In this case, the pin-shaped thickening 21 or 22 is firmly connected to the cap 51 or 54 and the latter is coupled to the leaf spring 48 or 49 for pressure and tensile force transmission.
Of course, only a single annular valve seat is formed on the body 12, and the two connected pipelines are connected via recesses in the body 12 to the center of the valve seat and to the annular groove around the valve seat.
