Hydraulic clutch for work machines The invention relates to a hydraulic hitch for work machines, in which two opposing, rotatably mounted disks with annular projections with wedge profile are used as coupling elements, which are axially displaceable to one another in a housing filled with highly viscous oil, the annular projections of the one disk can enter the recesses between the annular projections of the other disk during axial movement.
It is known to arrange such clutches as on and off clutches between the engine and the transmission, in each case a mechanical conical clutch is also provided, which brings about a mechanical hitch treatment at the end of the coupling movement.
The aim of the invention is to create a hydraulic clutch of the type mentioned, with which it is possible to operate machines with strongly speed-dependent torque - z. B. fans for cooling systems, especially for radiators or heat exchangers in motor vehicles - to regulate their speed over a speed range from zero to the maximum speed of the prime mover when the prime mover's speed is unregulated or independent of the speed requirement of the Arbeitsma machine.
With such a fan, the torque drops quadratically with the speed, the required power therefore falls to the third power; With a fan speed of 50 only a drive power of 12.5% is required.
Experience has shown that in fans that are driven via a hydraulic clutch of the type mentioned, the idling speed of the fan is relatively high, even if the wedge surfaces are so far axially apart that they are no longer perpendicular to the wedge. Experience has shown that the idling speed cannot be reduced below 30-40% of the input speed of the driving clutch disc when using hydraulic operation. It is an object of the invention to create this possibility.
According to the invention, the stated aim is achieved in that the driving disk is arranged axially immovable, the axially displaceable, driven disk is firmly connected to the driven machine part and that on a stationary machine part one to the axis of rotation of the driven machine part concentric coupling surface is provided, which interacts with a corresponding coupling surface on the rotating machine part.
With the arrangement according to the invention, it is possible to reduce the idling speed to zero in a hydraulic transmission of the type mentioned. H. to bring the driven machine part to a complete standstill.
The invention is shown in the drawing in an exemplary embodiment and described in more detail below with reference to the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows in longitudinal section a rotating part of a work machine with a hydraulic clutch according to the invention. Two different coupling settings are illustrated above and below the central longitudinal axis.
FIG. 2 shows a diagram of the speed characteristic of a work machine which is equipped with a hydraulic clutch according to the invention. In the embodiment of Fig. 1, a hollow shaft 2 is rotatably mounted in a stationary stand 1 via ball bearings 11, which carries a V-belt pulley 12 on one end, which is driven by a V-belt 3 from any drive machine, for example the drive motor of a motor vehicle becomes.
On the opposite end of the shaft 2, a radial disk 13 is attached, which carries a number of axially projecting Keilför shaped rings 4 on one side.
Inside the hollow shaft 2, a shaft 7 is rotatably and axially displaceably superimposed on bearings 14, which is fixedly connected at one end to a housing 15 which forms the hub of a rotating machine 6, for example the hub of a fan.
The housing 15 carries on its wall 5 opposite the tips of the wedge rings 4 analogous to the wedge rings 4 formed wedge ring 16 which are offset from the wedge rings 4 by half a pitch so that they can enter between the wedge rings 4.
The housing 15 is filled with a highly viscous oil, for example a silicone oil, with a viscosity of 200-1000 centistokes. A seal 22 is provided for sealing the housing.
The entrainment of the housing 15 takes place with the help of the shear stresses that occur in the oil between one another opposite surfaces, in particular between the wedge surfaces of the wedge rings 4 and 16 on. The shear stress x is calculated using the formula
EMI0002.0018
In this formula q is the dynamic viscosity of the oil, where the relative speed between the opposing surfaces and h is the distance between the opposing surfaces.
The force transmitted via the coupling is calculated from the shear stress P = p # F where T is the entire area on which the shear stresses act.
The machine stand 1 is provided with an axial projection 17 which engages under the wall 5 of the housing 15 and is provided with a conical surface 8 which cooperates with a corresponding cone 18 at the radially inner end of the wall 5. When the housing 15 is shifted to the right, the conical surfaces gradually come into engagement with one another until a rigid coupling is finally achieved. As a result, the housing 15 is braked to a standstill.
The construction can be designed in such a way that oil is also present between the conical surfaces 8 of the clutch 17, 18; the conical surfaces then act as a brake even before their mechanical contact due to the shear stresses of the oil.
Between the radial disc 13 and the housing wall 5 Ge, a coil spring 25 is seen, which tries to urge the housing 15 to the right into a position in which the cone surfaces 17, 18 engage with each other. The housing 15 with the fan 6 is thereby inevitably shut down. The spring is supported against the disk 9 via a ball bearing 10, while at its other end it rests against the bottom of a pot-like counter bearing 23 which rests against a projection of the wall 5 at its edge with a flange 24.
As can be seen from the construction described, changes with axial displacement of the Ge housing 15, both the distance between the opposing wedge surfaces and the size of the surface. With these two variables, a characteristic curve of the coupling is achieved which largely corresponds to the characteristic curve of a fan.
Due to the shear stress outside the wedge, which occurs, for example, between the housing wall and the back of the disk 13, the idling speed of the machine cannot be reduced below 30-40% of the input speed, as shown in the diagram of FIG. Here n is the speed of the driven machine and x is the distance between the wedge surfaces. At a drive speed a of the drive machine, without the means of the invention, the fan speed drops with an increase of x according to the curve b , which at n = 0.3 to 0, 4 @a merges into a straight line that is parallel to the speed straight line a.
By arranging the clutch 17, 18 it is achieved that the speed curve follows the curve c, via which the speed n = 0 for the working machine is reached after the maximum axial displacement of the housing 15 by clutch engagement of the surfaces 17, 18.
The arrangement and design of the wedge surfaces of the wedge rings 4, 16 is preferably chosen so that the wedge surfaces mechanically engage with one another at the end of the coupling movement and thus cause a rigid coupling that avoids any slip between the disc 13 and the housing 15. In order to make such a rigid coupling possible, the wedge surfaces of the wedge rings are provided with a slope steeper than 1: 4. In order to allow the highly viscous liquid to escape between the wedge surfaces, radial bores 19, 20 are expediently provided at the foot of the wedge rings.
In order to enable the liquid to pass from one side of the disk to the other during the coupling, the disk 13 is provided with axial bores 21.
To operate the clutch, a common operating linkage can be provided that works on the end face of the shaft 7. The. Linkage can be operated by hand or be provided with an automatic control that works depending on the temperature of the cooler or heat exchanger, if the working machine equipped with the coupling according to the invention is a fan.
It is also possible to act directly on the shaft 7, the actuating rods of a thermostat, as shown in the drawing. Here, one end of the bellows 26 rests against the end of the shaft 7. The pressure fluid is fed to the bellows via line 27.
