Sealing device in a rotary piston machine The subject of the main patent is a sealing device for sealing the working chambers in a rotary piston machine, which has a housing, which is composed of an enclosing body and side parts and in which a Kol ben is rotatably mounted, with sealing elements arranged in grooves in the piston are movable in the direction of the opposite surface and made of strip-shaped,
The radial seals extend over the entire width of the piston and there are strip-shaped axial seals extending between adjacent radial seals, with each radial seal sealing two adjacent working chambers, in which changing pressures prevail, in the circumferential direction against one another and the sealing elements mainly due to the pressure of the working medium on their sealing surfaces to be pressed,
At each connection point between a radial seal and the adjacent ends of two axial seals, an axially moveable connector body guided in a recess of the part carrying the axial seals is arranged, which slides along the opposite surface and engages with the end of the radial seal and to which the The ends of the axial seals are butt or overlapping, the axial extent of the connecting body being greater than the depth of the grooves which accommodate the axial seal in such a way that
that the connecting body blocks these grooves from each other, and wherein the space in the recess behind the connec tion body is in communication with that of the two adjacent working chambers in which the higher pressure prevails.
The object of the invention is to improve the sealing system according to the main patent in such a way that the sealing parts can be manufactured with larger tolerances and therefore more simply and cheaply without impairing the seal. For this purpose, the connection of the sealing strip to the connecting body must be carried out in such a way that large-area fits with tight tolerances are avoided.
This problem is solved according to the invention in that the sealing strip rests on the connecting body only along a narrow, axially extending surface that closes on the outer circumference of the connecting body.
In the extreme case, a line contact can take place, which can be achieved, for example, in that the groove in the connecting body for receiving the sealing strip widens radially inward. In this case, the sealing strip only rests against the outer edge of the groove, which can always be brought into alignment with the side wall of the groove in the piston. The same is achieved if the connecting body is designed as a slotted ring, the slot of which is used to accommodate the sealing strip.
If the connection body is designed as an expansion body, which is made possible, for example, by appropriate dimensioning of the slotted ring, then relatively rough tolerances can be worked with, since such a connection body is caused by internal stress and / or by the prevailing in a neighboring working chamber of the machine Gas pressure spreads and applies to the inner wall of the recess in the piston.
In the drawing, some Ausführungsbei games of the invention are shown in principle. 1 shows a view of a piston corner with the known sealing system according to the main patent, FIG. 2 shows a section along line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a view corresponding to FIG. 1 with a connecting body according to the invention, FIG. 4 is a view corresponding to FIG. 1 with a differently designed connection body according to the invention,
FIG. 5 shows an embodiment corresponding to FIG. 4 with a connecting body formed from two adjacent rings, FIG. 6 shows a section along line VI-VI in FIG.
Reference should first be made to the previous embodiment, which is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The piston 1 is designated, which has a plurality of corners 2, in each of which an axially parallel groove 3 is provided. In each groove 3, a one-part or multi-part sealing strip 4 is arranged to be radially movable, which constantly slides along with its outer rounded tip 5 on the inner surface 6 of the shell and the two neighboring working chambers A and B seals from one another in the circumferential direction.
The inner lateral surface 6 has, for example, the shape of a multi-arched epitrochoid. Below the groove 3, the piston 1 is provided with a recess 7 in which a connecting body 8 is inserted axially movable with a movement fit. The connecting body 8 has a groove 9 for receiving the sealing strip, which must be precisely aligned with the groove 4,
because the sealing strip 4 with its side surface 4a must rest on both the side wall 3a of the groove 3 and on the side wall 9a of the groove 9 when there is greater pressure in the working chamber B and vice versa with its side surface 4b on the side walls 3b and 9b, when the pressure in chamber A is greater.
Butt strip-shaped axial seals 10 abut the connecting body 8 and are mounted so as to be axially movable in grooves 11 in the piston 1. When a gas pressure occurs in the chamber B, the sealing strip 4 is pressed against the groove walls 3a and 9a. In addition, the gas pressure acts on the bottom surface of the sealing strip and presses it outwards to rest against the inner jacket surface 6 of the housing.
The gas pressure also reaches the recess 7 from behind the connecting body 8 and pushes it axially outward to rest against the inner wall 12 of the adjacent housing side part. Finally, the sealing strips 10 are pressed against the inner wall 12a of their grooves 11 and axially outwards against the housing inner wall 12 by the gas pressure. As can be seen, a tight connection between the sealing strip 4 and the sealing strip 10 and a shut-off of the grooves 3 and 11 from each other is achieved by the connec tion body 8, but at least two relatively tight fits.
Fig. 3 shows a way to increase the tolerances without impairing the seal, namely the connecting body 8 is provided with a groove 13 which extends radially inward to it. Through this formation of the groove 13, the sealing strip 4 is only along a narrow, axially extending and connecting body adjoining surface 13 'on the United connecting body 8, and it can be seen that the connecting body 8 due to the gas pressure without further adjusts so that the contact surface is aligned with the corresponding side wall of the groove 3.
Another possibility for avoiding tight tolerances is shown in FIG. 4, in which the connecting body is designed as a slotted ring 14, the slot 15 of which is used to accommodate the sealing strip 4. This ring 14 is inserted into an annular space 7b which is left free from the filler piece 7a arranged centrally in the recess 7. The purpose of the filler piece 7a is to reduce the volume below the sealing strip as much as possible, otherwise the alternating pressures in the adjacent working chambers A and B will not be fast enough can follow.
The installation of the sealing strip 4 on the connecting body 14 takes place again only along a relatively small surface 14 ', which adjusts itself to the corresponding side wall of the groove 3 without difficulty due to the gas pressure. The slotted ring 14, however, has the additional advantage that with regard to its outer diameter, no movement fit has to be observed if it is dimensioned so that it spreads open due to its internal stress and / or due to the gas pressure and seals against the wall of the recess 7 applies. The sealing strips 10 in turn butt against the ring 14.
In the embodiments according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the side sealing strips 10 are connected by butt contact with the connecting body 8 and 14, respectively. This butt contact at both ends of each side seal can hardly be achieved with the greatest precision at any operating temperature.
In FIGS. 5 and 6 one possibility is shown to remedy this disadvantage as well. The connecting body is formed by two slotted rings 14 and 16. The ring 14 of the ring 16 is stored in front, which is arranged with radial play in the annular space 7b. When a gas pressure occurs in the chamber B, the ring 16 as well as the ring 14 is rotated by the gas pressure in a clockwise direction until it rests with its surface 18 on the sealing strip 4 and with its outer surface on the ends of the sealing strip 10. This system can be supported by spreading the ring 16 due to the gas pressure.
The gas pressure also reaches the annular space 7b behind the ring 14 and presses it against the ring 16 until the ring 16 rests against the adjacent side wall 12 of the housing. The ring 16 and the sealing strips 10 have the same axial width and the end face of the ring 14 abutting the ring 16 covers the joint 17 between the ring 16 and the sealing strip 10. It can be seen that the parts 14 and 16 create a closed connection between the sealing strip 4 and the sealing strip 10 is achieved independently of any thermal expansion of the sealing strips and a shut-off of the grooves 3 and 11 from each other.
In addition, a free interchangeability of all sealing parts without adhering to tight tolerances is made possible because both the connecting body 14 and the sealing body 16 can adapt to the respective conditions under the gas pressure.
