Ball joint to spacer for electrical bundle conductors There are spacers for electrical Bündellei ter known, in which the two conductor terminals are each connected via a ball joint to one end of the spacer rod, whereby the required mobility of the spacer is always guaranteed. Since the individual sub-conductors continuously, albeit mostly minor, movements against one another, such ball joints are subject to considerable wear unless special constructive countermeasures are taken.
Once there is a certain amount of play between the ball socket and the ball head, constant blows occur between these parts, so that such ball joints are a source of noise and, because of the repeatedly tearing metal connection, also represent a source of radio interference. For these reasons, ball joints have already been provided in which the ball head is completely embedded in a coating made of an elastic plastic, so that there is absolutely no metallic contact between the ball head and the ball socket. Such ball joints, however, lack the precise guidance of the individual parts against one another which is necessary for maintaining the exact distance.
In addition, a spacer equipped with such ball joints does not form a conductive connection between the partial conductors, which is why electrical flashovers occur at the ball joints when the electrostatic charges differ, which in turn cause radio interference.
The present invention relates to a ball joint which does not adhere to the disadvantages mentioned. The ball joint according to the invention is characterized in that an elastic insert is arranged on the bottom of the ball socket and the ball head is in contact with the inner surface of the drawn-in edge of the ball socket on the one hand in the vicinity of its shaft attachment and on the other with the elastic insert .
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the exemplary embodiments shown in the drawing.
Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment together with the cable clamp comprising the sub-conductor, Fig. 2 is the view from below, and Fig. 3 is a vertical section of a further Ausfüh approximate shape of the ball joint.
The sub-conductor 1 is rigidly connected to the ball head 12 of the ball joint according to FIG. 1 by means of a sub-conductor clamp 2. The sub-conductor terminal BE consists of two symmetrical halves which are held together by the screw 3 and on the one hand the sub-conductor 1 and on the other hand the clapper 11 sen, which sits opposite the ball head 12 on the shaft 13. The ball socket 16 is located at the end of the spacer rod 15, which forms the middle part of the holder from.
The edge 17 of the ball socket is retracted so that it engages behind the ball head 12 in the area of the Schaf tansatzes, the remaining opening allows the pivoting of the shaft 13 to the neces sary extent. In the base of the ball socket 16 is an insert 18 made of elastic Shem material. The ball head 12 rests on the one hand against this insert 18, and on the other hand it is in contact with the inner surface of the drawn-in edge 17 of the ball socket in the vicinity of the shaft attachment.
The elastic insert 18 maintains permanent metallic contact between the ball socket and ball head and provides a guarantee for precise, play-free guidance of these parts, although the cavity of the metallic ball socket is actually much larger than the ball head 12, which creates direct metallic friction is reduced to a tolerable level.
To produce the ball joint described, the procedure can be that before the socket rim 17 is drawn in, the insert 18 in the form of a preformed part made of a suitable elastic material is inserted into the socket base, whereupon the ball head 12 is inserted and the rim 17 is drawn in or out. is flanged. This embodiment is possible when the ball joint is made, for example, of stainless steel or an aluminum alloy.
With regard to a proper corrosion protection of the metal parts of the ball joint, the following procedure is recommended: First, the ball head 12 alone, without the elastic insert, is inserted into the ball socket and the socket rim 17 is flanged. The metallic joint parts prepared in this way receive a zinc coating as corrosion protection in the galvanic bath.
The finished galvanized joint parts are then suspended from the clapper 11 so that the inner surface of the drawn-in edge 17 rests against the ball head 12 in the vicinity of the shaft attachment. In this position, a certain amount of a suitable thermoplastic synthetic material is poured into the ball socket in a liquid state, on the basis of which the synthetic material collects and the cushion-shaped insert 18 forms.
To introduce the plastic in the plastic state, the ball socket is provided with radial holes 19. As the plastic engages in the radial openings, the pad 18 is held in its position relative to the ball socket. The bores 19 are preferably not completely closed in order to allow water to flow out of the interior of the ball socket.
When selecting the plastic for the insert 18, in addition to the required elasticity, it is important to ensure good weathering and aging resistance and abrasion resistance. The PVC copolymer known under the trade name Igelits> is particularly suitable for the back casting process described, but substances such as Vulkollan (cross-linked polyurethane) or Buna (synthetic rubber) are also suitable.
Instead of an elastic plastic cushion, the use of a metallic insert, for example in the form of a leaf or plate spring, which is elastically supported between the bottom of the ball socket and the ball head, is also conceivable.
The embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 of the ball joint is also based on the basic idea of an elastic insert, which eliminates the play between the ball socket and ball head, but ensures a metallic contact of these parts. For the sake of simplicity, the sub-conductor and the sub-conductor clamp, which engages the clapper 20, have been omitted in these figures. The end of the spacer rod 30 is in turn designed as a ball socket 32, in the bottom of which a plastic pad 40 is arranged as an elastic insert, wel Ches engages in a recess 38 and is thereby fixed in its position.
The metal parts of the Kugelgelen kes are designed here as finished molded parts that do not require any post-processing for assembly. The ball head 22 can, as indicated in phantom in FIG. 3, be introduced from the side through an opening 34 into the ball socket and then pivoted into the final stretched position.
A nose 36 on the ball socket prevents the subsequent buckling of the ball head, whereby the pivoting is made possible during assembly through a cavity 24 on the ball head, in which the nose 36 slides during the pivoting movement, as can be seen from FIG. In addition to the cavity 24 there is a cam 26 on the shaft of the ball head, wel cher in the operating position of the ball joint points down. This cam determines in cooperation with the edge of the ball socket and the operating position of the latter, so that the opening 34 comes to lie down.
As a result, an accumulation of water both inside the ball socket 32 and in the cavity 24 is made impossible.
In the case of the ball joints described, thanks to the elastic insert, any play between the ball socket and ball head is eliminated, which is why no wear and tear can occur due to the impact. On the other hand, however, there is a permanent metallic connection between the individual sub-conductors, which is why their different electrostatic charges constantly balance each other out and do not discharge in the form of flashovers.
