Cooling system The invention relates to a cooling system, in which a cooling turbine, a fan driven by the cooling turbine, a heat exchanger and a compressor that works on the I # 'cooling turbine is assigned to a room to be cooled.
The cooling system can be used both for cooling aircraft cabins and for cooling the rest areas of road and rail vehicles and ships.
If the room to be cooled z. B. is an aircraft cabin, an additional power source is required when the main engine is at a standstill, which can simultaneously serve to power the electrical system and to start the main engine. In known systems of this type, the fresh cabin air is first compressed, then cooled with outside air and finally, after expansion, fed into the cabin in a cooling turbine. The exhaust air from the cooled room is expelled without any further use of its cold content.
In contrast, in the cooling system according to the present invention, the exhaust air line of the space to be cooled is connected to the primary part of the heat exchanger, which is connected to the compressor, via the cooling turbine, in which the exhaust air is expanded is who has to bring the pressure gradient in the cooling turbine and the pressure losses in the supply lines and the primary part of the heat exchanger.
Furthermore, the supply line to the cooled room is routed via the fan driven by the cooling turbine and the secondary part of the heat exchanger, in which the supply air in the cooled room is cooled to below room temperature. The compressor is advantageously identical to the compressor part of a gas turbine system. However, the compressor can also be driven by a third-party power source, the subject of the invention is illustrated in the drawing, for example.
In Fig. 1, the cooling system is shown schematically.
2 and <B> 3 </B> show the cooling system according to FIG. 1 for ground or flight operation with additional parts required for switching.
The system for the space to be cooled <B> 1 </B> be is according to Fig. <B> 1 </B> mainly from the cooling turbine 2, which via the shaft <B> 3 </B> with the Fan 4 is positively connected to the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> consisting of the primary part <B> 6 </B> and secondary part <B> 5 </B> and the compressor <B> 8 </B>, where the individual aggregates are connected to one another by a pipeline network described in more detail below. The compressor <B> 8 </B> connected downstream of the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> can for example be identical to the compressor part of a gas turbine system (FIGS. 2 and 3). It could z.
B. but also be driven by an external power source.
The fan 4 driven by the cooling turbine 2 sucks in atmospheric air, for example at a temperature of 40 'C, via the inlet connector 9 and, as a result of compression, presses it to about 42' C </B> heated air via line <B> 10 </B> into the secondary part <B> 5 </B> of the heat exchanger <B> 7, </B> where the fresh air to about <B> 16 ' C </B> and is fed to the cabin <B> 1 </B> by means of the line <B> 11 </B>. The excess pressure losses from the fan 4 in the secondary part <B> 5 </B> of the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> and the lines <B> 10 </B> and <B> 11 </ B> Air heated by about 2 'C is available for other purposes via line 12.
The cabin <B> 1 </B> with about <B> 25 'C </B> room temperature is connected to the inlet side 14 of the cooling turbine 2 via the line <B> 13 </B>. In this, the exhaust air from room <B> 1 </B> is expanded to around <B> 10 'C </B> and via line <B> 15 </B> to the primary part <B> 6 </B> of the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> and heated to about <B> 36 'C </B>. The line <B> 16 </B> leads from the primary part <B> 6 </B> of the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> to the compressor <B> 8 </B> which the pressure gradient of the cooling turbine 2, des Primary part <B> 6 </B> from the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> and the lines <B> 13, </B> <B> 15, 16 </B> and <B> 17 </B> has to cover.
Furthermore, for example when the compressor <B> 8 </B> is combined with the compressor part of a gas turbine system <B> 18 </B>, the present invention according to FIG. 2 can be implemented by installing gate valves <B> 19, < / B> 20, three-way slides 21 and 22 and non-return flaps <B> 23, </B> 24 and <B> 25 </B> in a simple manner for aircraft from ground operation (Fig. 2) with the main engine at a standstill to flight operation ( Fig. <B> 3) </B> toggle.
To start the main engine, according to FIG. 2, the cooling system must be bridged by turning the gate valve 20 so that the entire power of the gas turbine system 18 is available to the main engine as starting power.
When the main engine is running, the cooling system is operated by moving the slides 19, 20, 21 and 22 according to FIG. 3, so that the hot and high temperatures coming from the slider 20 from the engine The compressed air is cooled in the two heat exchangers <B> 26 </B> and <B> 7 </B> and, after further expansion in the cooling turbine 2, is fed to the cabin <B> 1 </B>, from where it is discharged their cold content in the heat exchanger <B> 7 </B> reaches the outside via the slide <B> 19 </B>.
