Light dome made of transparent plastic for installation in a building roof The invention relates to a light dome made of transparent plastic for installation in a building roof.
The daylight illumination of larger or smaller rooms with the help of light domes is sufficient in most cases as long as there are not particularly high demands on the uniformity of the incidence of light and the climatic conditions within the illuminated rooms. So-called shed construction was preferred when such requirements had to be made on a building up to now. The buildings are aligned in such a way that the window areas of the shed roof are aligned to the north, where their inclination is between 60 and 90 relative to the horizontal.
Due to this construction, it is sufficient that the window surfaces only catch the light emitted from the northern part of the sky dome and direct sunlight is not possible. The inclination of the window surface depends on the angle of inclination of the sun's rays, which in Germany, for example, on the day of the summer solstice at the highest position of the sun, have an inclination of about <B> 61 '</B> to the horizontal.
Due to the inclination of the window surface, which is adapted to the solar radiation and its simultaneous orientation to the north, on the one hand, approximately uniform daylight illumination is to be achieved within the shed construction, regardless of the changing position of the sun; on the other hand, the lighting should also be warmed up with direct sunlight Teten space can be prevented, which may have an adverse effect on the climatic conditions within the room result.
Even if the shed construction method is able to maintain the lighting and climatic conditions within the room relatively evenly, these advantages are countered by the essential disadvantage that the shed construction method, due to its construction conditions, incurs high costs not only for the initial construction, but also during the ongoing construction Entertainment requires.
For this reason, the shed construction method was only used when, for example, the manufacturing conditions required such a complex construction. Whenever possible, attempts were made to get by with a building illuminated by skylights, which could be built with a flat roof and which required significantly lower costs for production and maintenance.
Instead of the previously common saddle skylights, the aforementioned skylight has become more and more popular for illuminating rooms, especially in large hall buildings, as it uses the radiance of the entire sky vault depending on its installation in a horizontal or inclined position in flat roofs. The last-mentioned factor achieves good daylight lighting within the rooms with the skylight domes.
On the other hand, the warming caused by direct sunlight has a disruptive effect in some cases, especially if constant climatic conditions within the room have to be maintained in a particular factory. For such cases, the use of the previously known embodiments of skylights is not favorable.
The object of the invention is to avoid the disadvantages outlined by creating a dome light, which on the one hand results in daylight lighting within the room similar to a shed construction, but at the same time avoids undesirable warming of the same. The object is achieved according to the invention in that the light dome consists of two parabola-like arched shells which are set with their hollow sides against each other and are provided with a light-reflecting substance in the area of two diametrically opposite parabolic branches.
Such a design of the light dome results in several significant advantages. If the light dome is aligned with its arching cross-section line in the north-south axis in such a way that the parabolic branches of the arched shells, which are provided with a light-reflecting material, point to the south, direct sunlight and the associated undesirable heating of the room is prevented; At the same time, the other parabolic branches of the curved shells ensure sufficient lighting.
For this reason it is possible to use such skylights to create conditions within a building with a flat roof which correspond to those of a building with a shed roof. The same effect can therefore be achieved with flat roofs and skylights. The ability to align the light domes in the north-south axis without any structural difficulties also results in the essential advantage that the building itself does not have to be aligned in the north-south axis, as is generally the case with the shed construction is required.
The building equipped with light domes can assume any angular position to the north-south axis, while only the light domes placed on the roof surface are aligned in this axis.
In a further embodiment of the skylight dome, the parabolic curvature of each shell can have a steep and a slightly inclined parabolic load, the shells being set against one another in such a way that the steep and the slightly inclined parabolic branches are diametrically opposite each other and the light-reflecting material extends over the steeply inclined parabolic load extends. There can be a smooth transition from the reflective area of the shell to the translucent area.
Furthermore, the light-reflecting substance can be embedded in the material of the shell and / or applied to its upper surface.
Furthermore, it can be provided that the hollow dome body formed from two shells is filled with gases or vapors which have refractive indices that prevent the rest of the direct radiation through the dome light.
By adapting the inclination of the two parabolic branches of the curvature of each shell of a light dome to the inclination angle of the solar radiation prevailing at the place of use and by appropriately dimensioning the area that the light-reflecting material covers, the intended effect of selective light transmission of the window surface can be achieved in each case without having to pay attention to a special location of the structure in or to the north-south axis.
Due to the possibility of using the shed construction usual for certain cases by flat roof buildings that are equipped with skylights, there are extraordinary cost reductions both in the construction and in the ongoing maintenance of the building. Nevertheless, the favorable lighting and climatic conditions that can be achieved with the shed construction are achieved.
Further advantages emerge from the following description, which explains exemplary embodiments with reference to the figures. 1 shows a perspective view of a light dome according to the invention, FIG. 2 shows a cross section through a light dome along the line II-11 in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a rear view of a light dome according to FIG. 1, FIG , 5 and 6 the beam path on a dome light according to Fig. 1 and 2 with different light incidence, Fig. 7 and 8 further beam paths, Fig. 9,
10 and 11 the arrangement of light domes on different flat roof buildings.
The dome light according to FIGS. 1 to 3 has a square base. It consists of two parabola-like curved shells 1 and 2, which are made of acrylic (TM) glass, for example. As can be seen from FIGS. 1 and 2, the shells 1 and 2 are attached to the curb 3 with their hollow sides to one another. The parabolic curvature of the shells 1 and 2 consists of a steeply inclined parabolic load 11 or 21 and a slightly inclined parabolic load 12 or 22.
The steeply inclined parabolic branches 11 and 21 and the slightly inclined parabolic branches 12 and 22 each lie diametrically opposite one another. The former are provided with a light-reflecting material 4, as indicated in FIGS. 1 and 2. Essentially, the light-reflecting material 4 provided on the steeply inclined parabola load 11 or 21 of the curvature of each shell 1 and 2 comprises an area that begins just behind the beginning of the parabola on the curb 3 and ends approximately at the apex thereof.
This area is not sharply demarcated, rather there is a smooth transition, taking into account the inclination angle of the sun irradiation at the installation location, as well as whether the skylight dome is in a horizontal plane or in a slightly inclined plane with its curb the roof surface protrudes. The area of the shell that must have the light-reflecting material is evident from the further explanations. It is possible that the light-reflecting material 4 is embedded in the material of which the shell is made at the corresponding point of each shell 1 and 2. Instead or in addition, the light-reflecting material can be applied to the surface of the shells 1 and 2, e.g.
B. by spraying on, brushing on or by coating. FIGS. 4 to 8 serve to explain the lighting effects to be achieved according to the invention. As mentioned earlier, the light-reflecting material is provided in the area of the steeply inclined parabolic branches 11 and 21, so that direct sunlight is prevented in this area. As can be seen from Fig. 4, the incident rays of the sun that impinge in the region of the parabolic branch 11 provided with light-reflecting material 4 of the curvature of the shell 1 are reflected.
The incidental rays of the sun that pass through the shell 1 hit the area of the shell 2 provided with light-reflecting material 4 and are thereby also thrown back, ie. H. forced to exit the light dome to the outside. It is also obvious that only slightly inclined rays of the rising or setting sun can pass unhindered through the light dome, as indicated by the arrows drawn in FIG.
On the other hand, FIG. 5 shows that the translucent part of the shells 1 and 2, which essentially comprises the slightly inclined parabolic branches 12 and 22 of the arches, allows the indirect radiation of the sky to pass through the light dome fully when the light dome with its arching longitudinal section line opens the roof surface is directed in the north-south axis.
The slightly inclined parabolic branches 12 and 22 of the curvature of the shells 1 and 2 also result in a favorable influence because the undesired southern direct radiation is reflected on the surfaces of these slightly inclined surfaces in the unfavorable summer months, as shown in FIG. It is assumed that, apart from sunlight scattered in the atmosphere due to the distance of the sun, directly incident light rays can be regarded as lying parallel. With the inclination of the gently sloping surface of the shell 1, total reflection in the plastic is also possible in the summer months due to the grazing incidence of sunlight.
Corresponding to the refractive index of acrylic (TM) glass of 1.49, there is an associated critical angle of total reflection of 48 degrees (FIG. 8). However, because of the parabolic curvature, there is no risk that the layer on which the total reflection takes place serves as a conductor and thus leads to the heating of a point in the material, as would be possible with plane-parallel plates, as FIG. 7 shows.
The formation of condensation is also greatly reduced in the light dome according to the invention. It is well known that condensation occurs on the colder surface when there is a strong temperature gradient when the air is saturated with moisture. If z. B. the light reflective material 4 made of metal dust, z. B. aluminum, there is a higher temperature on the shell surface facing the interior than - according to the temperature gradient between inside and outside - as the value of the system and internal heat transfer coefficient would otherwise exist.
For this reason, the light-reflecting material 4 smooths the temperature gradient and at least reduces the formation of condensation water, if it is not even completely prevented.
9 to 11 show the structural advantages of buildings which are provided with light domes according to the invention. It is essential that the usual shed construction is used for comparison in order to understand the advantages that can be achieved with the light dome according to the invention. According to FIG. 9, the domed light domes placed on the roof surface 5 are arranged with their longitudinal arching line aligned in the north-south axis.
This means that the slightly inclined parabolic branches of the bulges point to the north, while the steeply inclined parabolic branches of the bulges point to the south. While in the case of shed buildings the building as such would have to be aligned in the north-south axis, in the present case the direction of the building in relation to the north-south axis does not matter.
Simply by arranging the light domes according to the invention in the north-south axis, the desired advantages are achieved with regard to the lighting conditions and climatic rule conditions within the room. A similar possibility is shown in FIG. 10, in which domed skylights are also placed on the roof surface 6 in such a way that the longitudinal arching line is aligned in the north-south axis.
The same applies as in the previous example. 11 shows a building which itself is constructed in the north-south direction; in addition, the skylight domes placed on the roof surface 7 are also oriented in the north-south axis. Of course, in the last two cases, the slightly inclined parabolic load of the arches of the skylights is directed to the north.
If, for example, a comparison is drawn between the shed construction and the flat roof construction according to FIG. 11, it is quite obvious that the flat roof construction shown is structurally significantly easier to produce. Accordingly, the costs are also significantly lower, and the ongoing maintenance costs are also reduced. The advantages become even clearer if the same comparison is drawn with structures that are constructed as shown in FIG. 9 or 10.
In many cases, the space available does not allow a building intended to be built in one place in a north-south axis. If the conditions for uniform daylight lighting had to be met at such a point, very complex structural measures would result because the roof structure would have to be aligned along this axis despite the walls not aligned in the north-south axis.
These disadvantages can easily be avoided if the structure can only be adapted to the available space without any consideration of alignment, as is possible by using the light domes according to the invention. In addition, there is the previously mentioned advantage between the shed and flat roof construction.
The examples shown in FIGS. 9 to 11 naturally represent only a very small number of the possible arrangements that can be achieved by using light domes according to the invention. It can be said in general that the advantages of the skylight dome according to the invention, the more favorable when creating flat roof structures, the more unfavorable the conditions would be when creating a shed building.
Since, in addition, a great adaptability with regard to the size of the light dome, the shape of its base area, which can be arbitrary and has only been selected as square in the figures, and the attachment of light-reflecting material is easily given, the Skylight dome according to the invention perfectly demonstrable advantages, which of course are retained even with equivalent modification of Ausführungsfor men.
