Sie bezweckt, ein zuverlässig arbeitendes Druck werk zu schaffen, bei dem die Druckzeichen der sich ständig drehenden Drucktrommel einwandfrei einge färbt werden. Ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung ist nachstehend anhand der Zeichnungen beschrieben. In den Zeichnungen ist: Fig. 1 eine teilweise geschnittene Vorderansicht einer bevorzugten Ausführung des erfindungsgemässen Druckwerkes; Fig. 2 ein Teilschnitt nach Linie 2-2 der Fig. 1 der Verriegelungseinrichtung zum Verriegeln einer Hohlwelle; Fig. 3 ein Teilschnitt nach Linie 3-3 der Fig. 1 eines Druckstempels und seiner Schaltelektromagne ten;

17 in Eingriff ste hen.
Printing unit Known printing units, especially high-speed printing works, have a constantly rotating drum, on the circumference of which different printing characters are distributed, which move past a printing station one after the other. A stop hammer aligned with each print mark strikes a recording strip against a selected print mark as soon as this print mark moves past the printing station.
The invention relates to a printing unit, which is characterized by a provided with several printing characters on its cylindrical circumferential surface, rotatably mounted printing drum, which is arranged near the carrier of a recording strip that can be printed with selected characters, and by a device, the printing ink on the print marks.
Its purpose is to create a reliably working printing plant in which the printed characters of the constantly rotating printing drum are properly colored. An embodiment of the invention is described below with reference to the drawings. In the drawings: FIG. 1 shows a partially sectioned front view of a preferred embodiment of the printing unit according to the invention; FIG. 2 shows a partial section along line 2-2 of FIG. 1 of the locking device for locking a hollow shaft; Fig. 3 is a partial section along line 3-3 of Figure 1 of a pressure ram and its switching electromagnets th;
4 is a section along line 4-4 of FIG. 1, showing the positional relationship between an internal gear and an external gear of the printing drum; 5 is an enlarged partial section showing the position ratio between the internal gear, the external gear and the printed mark; 6 shows a section through the device for angularly adjusting the hollow shaft; 7 shows a section along line 7-7 of FIG. 6; 8 shows a partial section through the device for longitudinal adjustment of the hollow shaft;
FIG. 9 is a section along line 9-9 of FIG. 8; FIG. 10 is a plan view of the inking unit along line 10-10 in FIG. 3, and FIG. 11 is a section along line 11-11 in FIG.
The frame 11 of the printing unit is penetrated by two coaxial bores 13 and 14, in which a cylindrical sleeve or hollow shaft 15 is angeord net. In existing at opposite ends of the hollow shaft 15, widened bores 16 and 17 are fixed in internal gears, which are held by end caps 18 and 19 in place, which are also fixed in these bores and which ball bearings 20 and 21 hold one of a motor (not shown) continuously driven drive shaft 22 rotatably support.
Eccentric sections 23 and 24 present on shaft 22 carry ball bearings 25 and 26, respectively, of which a hollow type or printing drum 27 is rotatably supported, which carries a plurality of rows of type characters 28 distributed over the circumference of printing drum 27.
The opposite ends of the printing drum 27 carry coaxial external gears 31 and 32 which are in engagement with the internal gears 16 and 17, respectively.
The printing drum 27 is divided on its circumference into an equal number of type printing areas. The number of teeth of the external gears 31 and 32 is either equal to the number of type printing areas or an even multiple of this number, while the internal gears 16 and 17 concentric with the axis of shaft 22 have the same number of teeth plus one tooth or plus one tooth each multiple number included. When the shaft rotates, the printing drum 27 moves in an orbit around the center of the shaft 20 and crawls with each rotation of the shaft 20 from one type printing surface to the next type printing surface relative to a printing station P, which consists of a number of aligned printing stamp 38 .
The printing drum 27 thus executes a hypocycloid movement as it moves on the orbit, in which a pressure cone or a type 28 (FIG. 5) approaches the printing station P (FIG. 3) on a hypocycloid curve. All different printing characters or type characters are essentially aligned with the pitch circle diameters of the external gears 31 and 32. So when the type character reaches the Wen depunkt or reversal point of its outward movement, it moves essentially radially outward.
If at this time a plunger 38 is moved inwardly towards the printing drum 27, as will be described below, then printing contact with a paper strip 39 takes place.
The paper strip is fed from a supply roll (not shown) and runs over the printing drum 27 upwards along the side of a guide block 41 intended for the various printing stamps, which is carried by the frame 11 and into an opening formed in the hollow shaft 15 42 protrudes.
The plungers 38 are slidably mounted side by side in Füh ments of the block 41. Each pressure stamp 38 is controlled by an armature 43 rotatably mounted on the pivot point 45, which extends between two pins 44 attached to the associated pressure stamp. Each anchor 43 is usually held in its upper position against an adjustable set screw 30 by a spring 46 which is clamped between the anchor 43 and a rod pin 47.
Each armature 43 is assigned an electromagnet 48 BEFE on the block 41, which pulls its armature down when a switch and in this way brings the associated plunger 38 into the printing position.
The hollow shaft or sleeve 15 is adjustable in its angular position and also in its longitudinal position in the bores 13 and 14 and is held in the position set by a clamping device 70 (Fig. 1 and 2). The clamping device has a cylindrical nut 71 which slides in a bore 72 running in the frame 11 at right angles to the bore 14. A screw 73 passes through a sleeve 74 sliding in the bore 72 and is screwed into the nut 71. To secure the hollow shaft 15 in its place, the screw 73 is rotated such that the nut 71 and the sleeve 74 abut against the circumference of the hollow shaft 15 with friction.
The hollow shaft 15 can be set in various positions in order to align the printing drum 27 with the plungers 38. In the hollow shaft 15 there is a horizontal slot 75 (FIGS. 6 and 7) into which a pin 76 engages, which is eccentrically carried by a short shaft 77 rotatably mounted in an opening of the frame 11. The shaft 77 has a shaft head 78 which passes through the opening of a holding plate 79 which is fastened to the frame 11 with screws 80. By rotating the shaft 77, the pin 76 adjusts the angular position of the hollow shaft 15 in the bores 13 and 14.
In the hollow shaft 15 there is also a vertical slot 81 (FIGS. 8 and 9), into which a pin 82 protrudes, which sits eccentrically on a stub shaft 87 which is rotatably supported by the frame 11 in a similar manner to the shaft 77. When the shaft 83 rotates, the pin 82 displaces the hollow shaft 15 in the longitudinal direction in the bores 13 and 14.
The supply of printing ink to the type characters 28 of the printing drum 27 as it rotates through a relatively soft transfer roller 50 (Fig. 3, 10 and 11), the opposite ends of which are rotatably carried ge by means of sleeves 51 of leaf springs 52. Each leaf spring 52 is fastened between an adjustment frame 53 and a hold-down rail 54 by means of screws 55, so that the springs 52 keep the roller 50 in constant contact with the drum 27. The adjustment frame 53 is slidably mounted on a cover plate 57 via slot connections 56. The plate 57 is attached to the top of an ink tank 58.
The container 58 fixed on the frame 11 contains an ink pad 60 made of absorbent material, e.g. B. felt. The ink pad 60 is held in its position by a plate 61, through the opening 62 of which the roller 50 is in contact with the ink pad 60 and picks up the printing ink.
The printing or type drum 27 presses the roller 50 against the ink pad 60 when it reaches the lowest point of its hypocycloid trajectory. Since, however, there is no rotation of the printing drum at this point, there is no abrasion or friction contact between the roller 50 and the pad 60 before. In addition, the contact occurs only briefly. The drum 27 then moves upward as it continues to rotate, so that the transfer roller 50 comes out of contact with the ink pad 60 before the roller 50 is rotated by the drum 27.
An impermissible accumulation of printing ink on the printing drum 27 is prevented by a stripping roller 63, which consists of a shaft 64 on which a helical row of bristles 65 is arranged. The shaft 64 is supported at its opposite ends by leaf springs 66 which are arranged between the setting frame 53 and the hold-down rail 54. The springs 66 carry bushings 67 in which the ends of the shaft 64 are supported.
The springs 66 keep the bristles 65 in wiping contact with the surface of the printing drum 27.If the printing drum 27 rotates to the left, then the bristles wipe sideways over the type letters and remove all excess printing ink before the types mark the printing point P (Fig. 3) achieve. The bristles 65 are preferably made of a flexible material such as nylon, plastic or d-1.
The bristles 65 also remove ink from the indentations of the types of printing and from the areas surrounding the types.
The cover plate 57 of the inking unit has two upwardly projecting flanges 68, the curved edges 69 of which bear against the hollow shaft 15. The inking unit is adjusted by means of two adjusting screws 171 which are loosely mounted in two upwardly directed handles 172 of the cover plate 67 and are screwed into upwardly directed handles 173 of the adjustment frame 53. When the screws 171 are adjusted, the adjusting frame 53 is shifted and, as a result, the rollers 50 and 63 are adjusted relative to the printing drum 27.
The adjustment of these rollers serves as a means of regulating the transfer of printing ink. If the pressure of the roller 50 against the ink pad 60 is increased, a stronger coloring is achieved.
