Compasses for pull-out ink or the like The invention is concerned with a compass for pull-out ink or the like and aims to design such a compass in such a way that a uniform thickness of the ink strokes is ensured with the best possible utilization of the span of the compass.
This is achieved with the invention in principle because an extractor that can be filled with ink or the like is mounted in an articulated manner near its exit end at the end of one of the compass legs. This articulated mounting makes it possible on the one hand to give the ink device a position at right angles to the plane of the drawing at every leg angle of the compass, in which it hits the drawing surface with the outlet mouth for the ink, so that a line of even thickness results when drawn.
On the other hand, the arrangement of the connecting joint near the outlet end of the ink device means that the associated leg of the compass has the greatest possible length, so that the advantage of being able to adjust the ink device perpendicular to the plane of the drawing does not come at the price of a loss of the compass span, but with the greatest possible use connected is.
For the holder of the ink device, an eye pivotably mounted in the preferably forked compass leg can be provided, in which the ink device is inserted, in particular one is screwed, so that the eye and with it the ink device on or in the leg of the compass in the The desired position can be pivoted at right angles to the plane of the drawing. The lowest position of the pivot or hinge axis can be erzie len that that eye is expediently provided with a pair of downwardly pointing tongues, at the ends of which the articulated attachment engages the end of the compass leg.
To extend the circle radius beyond the largest span of the legs, the eye for receiving the ink device can be relocated to the outer end of a possibly extendable extension piece, which can be inserted with its inner end into the eye pivoted on the circle leg.
The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to three exemplary embodiments, the first of which is shown in the drawing in FIG. 1 in a side view and in FIG. 2 in a partial view according to arrow II of FIG. The second embodiment is illustrated in FIG. 3 in part of the side view and in FIG. 4 in the view according to arrow IV of FIG. 3.
The third example is shown in FIG. 5 in a section corresponding to FIG. 4 and in FIG. 6 in a side view.
In all exemplary embodiments, the free end of one leg 1 of a compass is designed as a fork 2; An eye 3 in the form of a square is pivotable in the ends of the two fork arms and can be fixed by a knurled nut 4. In a thread 5 of the eye 3, the head 6 of an extractor is screwed, the tip 7 of which carries an outlet tube 8 for pull-out ink or the like that flows to the head 6 of a known construction from a cartridge 9.
As FIG. 2 shows, the length of the fork arms 2 is adjusted to the length of the pull-out device in such a way that it can be pivoted into the plane of the fork. The puller selected here is only an example, instead of which pullers of other designs can be used.
As the drawing shows, the pull-out device can always be brought into the right-angled position to the plane of the drawing with every span of the compass legs due to its pivotable mounting and can be determined in it by means of the nut 4, so that the tube 8 or some other line-drawing element is full rests on the drawing paper. The storage of the extractor at the outermost end of the compass arm 2 ensures that the compass has a large span. By holding the device by means of the thread 5 is easy to replace against devices such. B. achieved with a different line width or a different color of the extraction liquid.
As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the outermost span of the compass can be increased by moving the joint for the mounting of the eye 3 even closer to the plane of the drawing, by means of a pair of tongues 10 extending from the eye 3, in which lower ends of the hinge pins 11 as well as in the outermost ends of the corresponding extended th fork arms 2 of the compass legs.
Fig. 5 and 6 illustrate the use of the pivotably mounted in the fork arms 2 eye 3 for attaching an extension rod 12. This sits firmly on a collar 13 of a set piece, the threadless middle part 14 inserted positively into the bore of the eye 3 and in it by means a washer 15 and a threaded pin 16 and a nut 17 is held.
At its free end, the extension piece, which is designed to be pulled out according to FIG. 6, has an eye 18, into the threaded bore 19 of which the puller with its head 6 (see FIG. 2) is screwed. Even with this possibility of significantly increasing the compass span, the articulated storage at the end of the compass leg ensures the setting of the ink device at right angles to the drawing plane.
