Description

Method of molding hollow plastic objects
 extruded and blown
When manufacturing a hollow plastic object according to the extrusion-blow molding process which consists of introducing into a mold, a previously extruded object, then expanding it by injecting compressed air into said extruded object, so that its walls are pressed against those of the mold and its outer wall conforms to the shape of the mold cavity, it is not possible to obtain a perfectly smooth inner surface of the object, mainly due to the great pressure to which the molds are subjected. walls of said previously extruded object.

This drawback results, among other reasons, from too rapid cooling of the material to be molded relative to its rate of deformation. In fact, as the compressed air is supplied, the temperature which is suitable for keeping the interior surface fluidized deteriorates, which prevents a very smooth surface from being obtained. It is not possible by heating the mold to communicate to the interior surface of the hollow object previously extruded the desired fluidization temperature, because such heat should reach the interior face of said object through the thickness of its wall, which would cause a total fusion and too much fluidity which would harm the final shape of said object.

The object of the invention is to remedy this drawback, and its object is a method of molding hollow objects in extruded and blown plastic material, characterized in that the compressed air necessary for blowing a blank of said object is previously heated, so as to cause the surface fusion of the interior of said hollow object so that the surface thereof is smooth.

A preferred implementation of the method is characterized in that the compressed air necessary for blowing the preform of the hollow object previously extruded comes from a pressurized air installation comprising means for heating the controlled air. by thermostats.

The invention also comprises the hollow plastic object obtained by the above process.

   CLAIM I
A method of molding hollow objects in extruded and blown plastic material, characterized in that the compressed air necessary for blowing a blank of said object is heated beforehand so as to cause the surface melting of the interior of said hollow object so that the surface is smooth.

      SUB-CLAIM
Process according to Claim I, characterized in that the compressed air necessary for blowing the blank of the hollow object previously extruded comes from a pressurized air installation comprising the means for heating the air controlled by thermostats.

   CLAIM II
