Electromagnetic track device, in particular for axle counting devices in railway safety systems The invention relates to an electromagnetic track device on a track, in which coils are arranged on both sides of a rail, one of which generates an alternating magnetic field by which a voltage is induced in the other coil for Purpose of influencing the size of the tension by means of a wheel rolling through the action zone of the track device.
Devices are already known in which coils are arranged on both sides of a rail. There are systems in which the coils are on a common iron core surrounding the rail, and depending on the type of circuit, a feedback arrangement is influenced by the action of the wheel or the magnetic coupling between the transmitter and receiver coil is reinforced. In a further arrangement, three coils are arranged on the iron cores surrounding the rail. On one side of the rail there is the receiving coil and on the other side the two transmitting coils, one of which is fed with direct current and the other with alternating current.
Another embodiment is also known in which the coils are fastened on both sides of a rail by a common magnetic, non-conductive cross member. The alternating current excited coil is arranged next to the rail in such a way that here too the force field generated can only have an intensive effect on the receiving coil when the wheel is rolling through the alternating magnetic field.
In another known device, the alternating field generated on one side of the rail is opposed by one or more pairs of oppositely connected windings, which are coordinated so that the induced voltages in each winding pair cancel each other out according to magnitude and phase. The coils are arranged on the rail in such a way that when a wheel rolls past, the change in the air gap disrupts the voltage equilibrium in each winding pair. The uncompensated voltage part influences the monitoring device.
In another known electromagnetic track device, the shielding effect of a wheel rolling through the air gap between the transmitter and receiver coil is used to influence the system. In order to obtain an optimal influence on this device, the transmitter and receiver are arranged above the rail head so that the shielding effect of the rail remains as low as possible.
However, since the acting wheels have different dimensions according to the various vehicles, the shielding of these wheels causes a strongly fluctuating lowering of the voltage induced in the receiving coil, so that proper operation of the monitoring device is not guaranteed.
The electromagnetic track device on a track is characterized in that the receiver coil is located in a magnetic bridge arrangement, which consists of the rail, the receiver and the air gaps between the coil and the rail head and the rail foot, and that the bridge arrangement is created by the alternating magnetic field of the transmitter coil is fed, and that for the purpose of canceling or reversing the polarity of the magnetic alternating field acting on the coil in the effective area of the wheel rim, the transmitting coil is inclined to the rail.
The frequency of the alternating field can be selected - for example 5 kHz - so that the polarity of the effective magnetic field of the coil is canceled or reversed regardless of whether the material of the wheel tire is magnetically conductive (e.g. steel) or magnetically non-conductive (e.g. aluminum). The advantage over the known is that the track device works perfectly, regardless of whether the wheel or part of the wheel is made of magnetically conductive or non-conductive material. The invention also makes it possible to properly recognize synthetic material wheels that are provided with a metal insert.
The optimal influencing of the partial fluxes flowing in the receiving coil through the wheel rim, whereby the effective alternating magnetic field of the coil is practically canceled, can be achieved by the arrangement of the receiver, in that the magnetically conductive elongated coil core of the coil is positively connected to the web of the rail so that the coil lies in a magnetic bridge arrangement fed by the alternating magnetic field of the transmitter coil, which is formed from the rail, the receiving system and the air gaps between the coil and the rail head on the one hand and the rail flow on the other.
In order to be able to achieve a perfect alignment of the bridge arrangement, the transmission coil can be arranged rotatably about an adjustable axis running parallel to the longitudinal direction of the rail.
Another disadvantage of a known Einrich device, in which the transmitter and receiver are arranged above the rail head, is that not only the wheels rolling through the action zone affect the system, but that other parts on the vehicle, such. B. hanging chains and pipes, or other parts due to the operational process iron, z. B. Rail brakes that move through the influencing zone of the track device can lead to disturbances in the monitoring device. Another disadvantage of this known device is that the parts protruding over the rail are accessible to mechanical destruction.
These disadvantages can be remedied in that the transmitting coil and the receiving device are expediently arranged below the upper edge of the rail. Due to this advantageous arrangement of the device, only the rim, but not the rest of the wheel, is basically required to achieve the required lowering. This means that all wheel types always cause the same depression.
The mode of operation of the electromagnetic track device can be further improved by both the transmitter coil and the receiver with a magnetically non-conductive jacket, for example, to shield the external magnetic fields that adversely affect the effectiveness of the device and to bundle the own field. B. aluminum, can be surrounded.
If the electromagnetic track devices are used to control axle counters that monitor track sections traveled in both directions, it is necessary that the access or exit of axles from the track section in question is marked by a direction-dependent criterion. In a known manner, two identical track devices can be arranged on both sides of a track for direction-dependent counting of axes so that the zones of influence of both systems overlap.
An embodiment of the invention is explained with reference to the drawing.
It shows: FIG. 1 the way in which the electromagnetic track device is fastened to the rail, and FIG. 2 shows a simplified equivalent circuit to FIG. 3, which shows the lines of force required in the bridge arrangement of the track device.
As can be seen from FIG. 1, the rail 1 rests on the cross member 2, which carries the receiving device 7 to 10 on one side of the rail and the rotatable transmitter 3 to 6 on the other side of the rail.
The transmitter consists of a rectangular coil 4, for example, which is surrounded by an aluminum jacket 5, 6 for shielding. The top and bottom of the shielding jacket are covered with Pertinax, for example, so that the magnetic flux can escape unhindered. The core 3 of the coil can consist of dynamo sheet metal or ferrite and the coil 4 of several partial windings. The receiving device consists of the coil 8, the coil core 7 extended on one side and the shielding jacket 9, 10. The coil core can in turn consist of dynamo sheet metal or ferrite.
In order to influence the quality of the electrical circuits as little as possible, the shielding of the transmitting and receiving device is arranged in a corresponding distance around the coil.
Depending on the different rail shapes and the greatest possible influence on the system by the action of the wheel rim, the favorable shape and setting of the transmitter coil were determined by experiment. So it is advantageous to set the transmitter at an angle a formed by the lower edge of the rail and the direction of radiation of the magnet from 30 to 80 to the rail head and the axis of the pivot point of the system running parallel to the longitudinal direction of the rail at a distance d = 80 to 150 mm from the center of the rail and a distance of c = 25 to 80 mm from the lower edge of the rail.
The magnetic setting of the track device could, however, also be achieved within certain limits by an adjustable receiver arrangement, but the structural design would be difficult due to the required positive fit of the receiver with the rail web. In addition, the receiver is located on the inside of the rail, in other words in the track, so that the setting would hinder operation and endanger the person making the setting.
For the design of the receiver device, however, a favorable arrangement on the rail was determined through tests, in which the form-fitting part of the coil core 7 comes to lie at a distance g = 30 to 95 mm from the rail foot opposite the rail web that carries the coil 8 Part of the coil core 7 is arranged parallel to the rail web and furthermore the free side of the coil 8 at a distance e = 0 to 60 mm below the top edge of the rail and at a distance f = 105 to 185 mm from the center of the rail.
This arrangement described relates to the operation of the electromagnetic track device on which the invention is based. In the device that is not influenced by a wheel rim, a certain voltage is generated in the receiving coil 8, adjustable by the inclination of the transmitting coil 4 to the rail, by the effective alternating magnetic field. If a wheel rim of a wheel 11 rolling through the zone of action of the track device penetrates the air gap between the rail head of the rail 1 and the coil 8, the effective alternating field of the coil 8 is lifted by the action of the wheel rim or vice versa, so that no voltage or a voltage which is 180 out of phase can be induced in the coil.
The induced alternating voltage in the receiver coil 8, which is used to control the monitoring device, thus achieves a 100% reduction or, moreover, a phase reversal, which can be used by means of phase-correct rectification.
By arranging the transmitting and receiving coil below the top edge of the rail and the inclination of the transmitting coil to the rail head it was achieved that metal parts that only extend to the top of the rails, for. B. from rail brakes, cause only an insignificant lowering of the induced voltage in the receiver coil 8 and thus have no influence on the downstream monitoring device.
The operation of the electromagnetic track device can be better based on FIGS. 2 and 3, which shows the flow lines necessary for the bridge arrangement (FIG. 3) and the simplified equivalent circuit (FIG. 2). In order to facilitate the comparison between the flowchart and the equivalent circuit, the corresponding positions are marked with the same numbers. For example, the magnetic flux line between points 21 and 41 in the flow chart is represented by the resistance between points 21 and 41 in the substitute scheme. The receiver E is in the diagonal 51-61 of the bridge. As can be seen from the flow chart, the bridge is formed by the special shape (L-shape) of the magnetic core.
If the transmitter coil 4 is moved in the horizontal direction, the magnetic resistances 11-31 and 21-41 are significantly affected. Since the voltage applied to the bridge at points 31 and 41 is increased or decreased; in other words, the coupling between the transmitter and the receiver is changed. Although the magnetic resistances 11-31 and 21-41 are influenced by the rotation of the transmitter coil so that the magnetic resistance between 21 and 42 decreases when the magnetic resistance increases between 11 and 31, the magnetic resistances 31-51 in particular become and 41-51 of the bridge. This fact allows an adjustment of the bridge.
The effect of a wheel, in particular the wheel rim, on the flux path between 31 and 51 is to control the magnetic resistance 31-51, whereby the bridge ratios are changed. The bridge can be set so that when the track device is not activated, i.e. H. if there is no wheel in the effective range, the bridge is not balanced, so that a certain amount of energy from the transmitter coil is effective. As soon as a wheel enters the effective area of the track device, the bridge is leveled so that the voltage induced in the receiving coil drops to zero.
On the other hand, a wheel passing through the effective area of the track device can result in the voltage induced in the receiving coil falling to zero depending on the path traveled by the wheel and then increasing to a certain value with the phase rotated by 1800.
The electro-magnetic track device underlying the invention is not only suitable for controlling axle counting devices, but it can be used anywhere to control devices in front of geous manner, where an impact should be effected by a moving train on the route, for. B. to secure path crossings, influencing signaling devices and the track level indicator.
In addition, the track device is suitable for monitoring the train speed by using the slope and / or the duration of the lowering of the induced voltage in the receiver gerspule as a criterion, or by measuring the time required to drive through a measuring section between two track devices and as a measure used for speed.
