Fig. 6 zeigt die Bindungspatronen der Schlauch kante.
Method and device for the production of selvedges on fabrics The invention relates first to a process for the production of selvedges on fabrics that are produced on looms with thread grippers, in which the selvedges are formed by a hose fabric.
In the known method of this type, the insert strips wear heavily in tightly set and tightly closed goods. This leads to considerable difficulties in the equipment, especially in the finish. The weft insertion in these edges corresponds to twice the thickness of the stock. The edges become very wavy during the finishing process due to the arrival of the goods. When the goods are rolled up and ready for sale, the raised edges are unsightly and make sales considerably more difficult.
To avoid these wavy and bulky edges, a so-called leno bar could be used. The edges would have to be cut off using a cutting device. However, this has the disadvantage that the goods are narrower due to the lack of edges and, moreover, do not give a clean image at the ends of the goods because the weft ends protrude.
According to the invention, these shortcomings are now remedied by the fact that the tubular fabric consisting of the upper and lower edge is separated at its two Schei means and thereby the upper edge of the tubular fabric is detached from the fabric, the lower edge remaining on the fabric being corrugated. This has the advantage that the bottom edge that has remained standing is not thicker than the bottom of the goods and thus the previously annoying curling of the edges is avoided. Such goods can be sold much better. In a particular embodiment of the invention, the corrugation security of the lower edge remaining on the fabric is achieved by a corresponding thread crossing.
The upper edge of the tubular fabric to be cut is made in taffeta weave and the lower edge in rep and taffeta weave.
This special binding technique results in a flawless, solid edge that is not bulky and does not cause any difficulties in finishing.
The invention also relates to a device for performing the new method. In this device, a cutting device arranged on the loom is used to sever the tubular fabric. In a particularly simple embodiment of the invention, the cutting device consists of a base body, which serves as a carrier for cutting blades, and a hose stretching flat stretching fabric, which is firmly connected to the base body. A cutting device designed in this way works completely automatically; it does not require any significant technical effort.
In the drawing, the invention is shown using an example.
Fig. 1 shows the plan view of an embodiment of the cutting device.
FIG. 2 is a side view of the embodiment of FIG. 1.
FIG. 3 shows another side view of the embodiment according to FIG. 1.
Fig. 4 shows schematically the number of shafts in an embodiment of the new method.
Fig. 5 shows the leaf stitch form in this embodiment. Fig. 6 illustrates the binding cartridges in the same embodiment.
In the new method, a tubular edge is first formed in the usual manner, which is made up of a lower edge and an upper edge be. Both together would be twice as thick as the tissue fund.
In order to bring the strength of the selvedge to that of the Ge webefonds, the tubular fabric forming the edge is separated at its two apices according to the invention, so that the upper edge is completely detached from the lower edge.
In order to give the remaining lower edge of the former tubular fabric the necessary strength and to make it corrugated, a special thread crossing is used with advantage. For example, this can be done in such a way that the upper edge of the tubular fabric to be separated has a taffeta weave and the lower edge that remains is a combined rep and taffeta weave.
The upper and lower edges can be organically separated from each other in such a bond, so that the remaining lower edge represents a self-contained and solid woven part that has the necessary strength and that cannot ripple.
In FIG. 4, the number of stems to be used for the aforementioned binding technique is plotted to explain the method described. It is necessary that special shafts are used to achieve the required binding, as this binding cannot be achieved with the stock.
In FIG. 5, the leaf stitch corresponding to the binding cartridges according to FIG. 6 is shown.
Fig. 6 shows the binding cartridges of the hose edge.
The device shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 can serve as the cutting device. It 'consists of two plates 1, 2 which are connected to one another by screws 3. The upper plate 1 is provided with a finger-like extension 4, which serves as a tensioner. Cutting blades 5 and 6 are clamped between plate 1 and plate 2. The cutting parts 5 'and 6' are the effective cutting edges.
The cutting device is conveniently attached to the chest tree of the loom. In use, the tensioner 4 is inserted into the tubular fabric of the web edge. As a result, the tubular fabric is stretched flat so that the effective cutting parts 5 'and 6' can cut the apex of the tubular fabric in accordance with the advance of the fabric. The lower edge of the tubular fabric remains on the back of the fabric, while the upper edge is completely detached from the lower edge in the form of a strip.
