Fig. 1 ein Schema der erfindungsgemässen Kühlvorrichtung ;
Fig. 2 eine teilweise geschnittene Seitenansicht einer Luftwirbelkühlröhre der erfindungsgemässen Kühlvorrichtung;
Fig. 3 einen Schnitt längs der Linie A-A der Fig. 2;
Fig. 4 eine perspektivische Ansicht der mit einem Luftverteilungsrohr verbundenen Kühlröhre;
Fig. 2).
Device for cooling thermoplastic molded parts
The invention relates to a device for cooling thermoplastic molded parts in order to accelerate the removal of these parts from the mold after the pressing or injection molding process.
The cooling device according to the invention contains the following elements: an air line into which a heat exchanger is connected, which cools the air stream flowing through the line; an air vortex cooling tube, the inlet of which is connected to said air line and which receives the air cooled by this line; furthermore a distribution line which is connected to the cold air outlet of the cooling tube and which directs the cold air flow onto the surface of the molded part to be cooled.
The air vortex cooling tube is preferably provided with a cooling jacket, and this cooling jacket is connected to the cooling circuit through which the coolant supplied to the heat exchanger flows. Furthermore, a further heat exchanger through which the same cooling liquid flows is advantageously provided, which further cools the air fed into the air vortex cooling tube by the first heat exchanger.
These and other details emerge from the following description of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing. Show it:
1 shows a diagram of the cooling device according to the invention;
2 shows a partially cut side view of an air vortex cooling tube of the cooling device according to the invention;
Figure 3 is a section along the line A-A of Figure 2;
4 is a perspective view of the cooling tube connected to an air distribution tube;
5 and 6 sectional side views of two different configurations of the distribution pipe.
The diagram in FIG. 1 shows a heat exchanger which essentially consists of a tank 7 provided with thermal insulation. The coolant 8 present in this tank is glycol (dioxyethane). This coolant is in turn cooled by a cooling circuit, which is shown in Fig. 1 with dash-dotted lines and which contains an evaporator coil 9 (in tank 7), furthermore a motor-driven compressor 10, a condenser 11, a liquid container 12, a shut-off valve 13 , a dryer 14 and a thermostatically controlled expansion valve 15; A return line 16 connects to the evaporator coil 9 and leads the coolant back to the compressor 10.
A helical pipe 17, which is connected in such a way that it leads compressed air from a compressor 18 to the inlet of an air vortex tube 19 (vortex tube, Hilsch type), also dips into the tank 7.
As can best be seen in FIGS. 2 and 3, the vortex tube 19 consists of a tubular body 20, at one end of which an air inlet tube 21 is attached, which introduces the air tangentially to the cylindrical inner wall of the tubular body. Below the inlet tube 21 the we belröhre 19 is provided with an end piece 22 which has a central opening 23. Through this opening 23 the cooled part of the air introduced into the tube, i. H. the cold air required to cool the molded parts flow out.
The other end of the tube 19 is provided with an adjustable throttle 24 by means of which the proportion of hot air can be regulated. The vortex tube 20 is advantageously given a shape in the shape of a hollow truncated cone, which widens from the lower end piece 22 to the upper hot air throttle outlet 24.
A more detailed description of this known vortex tube can be found in the journal <Engineering s from August 1, 58, pages 154 to 156 (with references to further publications).
The inlet pipe 21 and the end piece 22 provided with the opening 23 are advantageously made from a heat-insulating material such as polyamide, for example, in order to reduce heat losses in this region of the pipe.
Between the tank 7 and the inlet side of the vortex tube 19, a second heat exchanger 26 is provided in the air line 25, which further cools the air guided to the inlet side of the vortex tube. This heat exchanger 26 contains two flexible tubes 27 and 28 arranged concentrically to one another, which are connected with sockets at both ends in such a way that an annular space 30 is created around the inner tube 27 (see FIG. 2). In this way, the air flowing in the inner tube 27 is cooled by the coolant 8 which is pumped from the tank 7 into the outer annular space 30. The vortex tube 19 preferably also contains such a cooling jacket 31, which lies in series with the cooling jacket annular space 30 and through which the cooling liquid 8 also flows.
The coolant 8 flows - corresponding to the dashed line in FIG. 1 - from the tank 7 through an adjusting valve 32 via the heat exchanger 26 and the cooling jacket 31 of the vortex tube 19 back to the tank 7; the movement of the coolant is brought about by an electric motor-driven pump 33 which is accommodated in the tank 7. Part of the coolant flowing in this circuit is returned to the tank 7 via a by-pass line via a valve 34 in order to set the coolant in motion in the tank to improve the heat transfer.
The cold air outlet 35 of the vortex tube 19 is connected to a distribution line which guides the cold air over the surface of a molded piece made of thermoplastic material which is to be released from its shape in the machine. As is illustrated, for example, in FIGS. 4 and 5, the cold air outlet of the vortex tube 19 can be connected to an endless closed tube 36 which surrounds the shaped piece 37. The wall of the tube 36 is provided with openings 38 through which the cold air exits directly in the direction of the molded piece.
Notwithstanding this, in the embodiment according to FIG. 6, the cold air outlet 35 of the vortex tube 19 is arranged on a heat-insulated hood 39 which is shaped so that it engages around the molded piece 40; in this way the cold air flows in the space between the hood and the fitting.
In practice, slight difficulties now arise when the compressed air supplied by the compressor 18 is to be cooled significantly below the ambient temperature. These difficulties are explained in particular by the formation of ice on the inner wall of the cooling coil 17, which significantly worsens the heat transfer and reduces the passage cross-section. These difficulties can be avoided by adding glycol (dioxyethane) to the air before it enters the cooling coil 17 of the tank 7. As a result, the wall of the cooling coil 17 is moistened, with the result that the water condensed in the cooling coil remains liquid as a result of the lowering of the freezing point caused by the glycol / water solution.
The introduction of glycol into the compressed air line can advantageously be carried out in such a way that a separator 43 and a pressure lubricator 41, which is filled with glycol instead of oil, are provided in the line 25. After exiting the cooling coil 17, the glycol is then separated again from the air by a conventional separator 42.
In a practical implementation of the cooling device described above, the following values resulted in operation:
The cooling coil 17 in the tank 7 was supplied with compressed air at a pressure of 5.3 atmospheres; the temperature of the coolant 8 in the tank was kept at -70 ° C. The temperature of the compressed air at the inlet of the cooling coil 17 was 200 C. At the inlet of the heat exchanger 26, the air temperature was reduced to about Oo C. When the hot air throttle outlet 24 of the vortex tube 19 was closed and the coolant 8 also flowed through the jacket 31 of the vortex tube, a temperature of about -26 ° C was measured at the cold air outlet 35 of the vortex tube 19 with a throughput of 0.43 m3 / min.
