Butt joint connection on wooden stairs As is well known, the butt joints of wooden stairs are connected by two wooden dowels and a normal bolster per butt joint.
The difficult entry with the cheeks into the steps and footboards is made even more difficult by the protruding dowels, because they block the direct access path of the following cheek or bolster piece, so that at the same time when pushing into the dowels and with the stair recesses on the inside of the cheek into the steps and Lining boards must be retracted. So initially there is no part to be driven in to stand in front of its negative, so that a connection of the buttocks and the cheek with the steps and footboards can only be achieved by forcing and using force. Especially with narrow bolsters or
It is difficult to avoid pressing the edges or cracking corners because the steps are narrow.
With the cheek joint connection according to the invention, the wooden dowels on the butt side of the cheeks can be omitted. According to the invention, this is characterized by at least one bolster screw, which consists of two detachably connected parts and is arranged in the cheek parts in such a way that it is accessible from the outside for the purpose of actuation.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject invention is shown, namely: Fig. 1 the part of the bolster screw serving as an adjusting screw, partly in section, Fig. 2 the part of the bolster screw serving as a lag screw, partly in section, Fig. 3 is a cross section according to line III-III in FIG. 2, FIG. 4 shows a view of the bolster screw in the coupled position,
Fig. 5 shows the cheek joint with the bolster screw parts installed, with the dowels retracted, Fig. 6 the butt cheek after the cheek has been inserted into the steps and lining boards after coupling the bolster screw parts, Fig. 7 shows the butt cheek after the anchor has been moved into the blocking position and Fig. 8 a horizontal section along line VIII-VIII in FIG. 7.
In the case shown, a two-part bolster screw 1, 2, one part of which is the adjusting screw 1 and the other part of which is used to connect the cheek abutting ends A, B of stair stringers with one another. Forms tension screw 2. The screw 1 has a star nut 3 with a washer 4 on its threaded part and a dowel 5 with an axial threaded hole 6 at the end of its thread-free part. The mouth of the threaded hole 6 has a bevel and forms a funnel-shaped entry opening 6 '.
The lag screw 2 has at one end a threaded pin 7 for engagement in the threaded bore 6 of the dowel 5. The threaded shank hene 8 of the tension screw 2 carries a star nut 9 with washer 10 and is designed as a flat profile thread shaft on which a flat-hole star washer 11 is mounted longitudinally.
The adjusting screw 1 carrying the dowel 5 is mounted in a longitudinally adjustable manner according to FIG. 5 in a front horizontal bore 12 of the cheek abutment end A, the star nut 3 being accessible in a service hole 13 which intersects the bore 12 at right angles and is open on one side, and the dowel 5 is accessible in one for Bore 12 coaxial dowel hole 14 is countersunk. By longitudinal displacement of the adjusting screw 1, the dowel 5 can be moved into a position projecting over the butt joint as shown in FIG.
The tension screw 2 is longitudinally adjustable in a frontally open horizontal bore 15 of the cheek joint end B and protrudes with its threaded pin 7 coaxially into a dowel hole 16 of the cheek joint end B opposite the dowel hole 14 of the cheek joint end A, while the flat-hole star washer 11 and the Star nut 9 of the tension shaft 2 are accessible in a hole 15 which intersects at right angles and is open on one side.
With 18 the steps and with 19 the lining boards of the wooden stairs are designated, for their engagement on the inside of the cheek 20 grooves 21 are provided.
5-8 illustrate the principle of the cheek connection with a single bolster per cheek joint. Advantageously, however, two bolsters per cheek joint are used in practice, which are installed according to FIG. 6 in the holes of the cheek joints indicated by the lines X -X and Y-Y.
After the cheeks have moved into the steps 18 and lining boards 19 with the dowel 5 sunk, the tension screw 2, as shown in FIG. 6, is screwed into the dowel 5. This is done with the aid of the star washer 11 and the threaded nut 9. The threaded nut is turned outwards, i.e. moves against the pull shaft end, whereby the tension screw moves against the dowel 5 until one hand the end of the thread pin 7 on the threaded hole of the dowel 5 and the star nut 9 with washer 10 on the wall of the service hole 17 is available. The tension screw 2 is now rotated by means of the flat-hole star washer 11 in such a way that the threaded pin 7 screws into the threaded hole 6 of the dowel 5.
If the threaded pin 7 of the tension screw 2 is completely screwed into the dowel, after previous adjustment of the star nut 3 to the left outside, by turning the star nut 9 of the tension screw 2, the dowel 5 coupled to it is pulled into the dowel hole 16 of the cheek joint B, the flat-hole star washer 11 acts as a washer. In the locked position of the dowel 5, the two cheek joints are finally clamped together and the butt joint closed by tightening the two star nuts 3 and 9.
Of course, the buttocks do not have to run vertically and, depending on the circumstances, can also run transversely to the longitudinal axis of the cheeks; the screws do not necessarily have to be at right angles to the butt joint, but can be inclined upwards or downwards.
