Method and device for connecting two penetrating pipe elements The invention relates to a method for connecting two penetrating pipe elements, which is characterized in that one of the pipes is arranged to fit in a first bed of a die, which bed is crossed by a second die bed is, after which a forming die is inserted through the cavities of the second bed of the die in such a way that the wall of the tubular element pierces on two opposite sides and is then deformed in such a way that a double-walled seat is formed in the tubular element,
wherein the tubular element on both sides of this seat retains its original tubular shape, whereupon the second tubular element is introduced over the length of the seat thus formed into the first tubular element by coming into close contact with the double-walled seat, and that the two tubular elements then connected to one another along the seat surface.
The invention also relates to a die for performing the method.
The method according to the invention and the die used for this purpose are explained with reference to the drawing using an exemplary embodiment: FIGS. 1, 2 and 3 show a die and a punch for carrying out the method in top, front and side views.
Fig. 4 shows a side view, partially geschnit th along line IV-IV in Fig. 5, a finished connection Ver.
FIG. 5 shows a plan view of the connection according to FIG. 4, and FIG. 6 shows the method step for forming the seats in a tubular element.
In FIGS. 1 to 6, the first pipe element is designated by 1 and the second pipe element, designated by 2, is pushed into the opening 3. According to FIG. 1, a die for carrying out the method consists of two metal blocks 4 and 5 which are immovably attached to one another and which are each individually provided with two intersecting semi-cylindrical die cavities,
which together men the cavity 6 for the pipe to be inserted element 1 and the mold cavity 7 form. The provided with a sharp point punch 9, the diameter of which corresponds to the diameter of the tubular element 2, is after the arrangement of the first tubular element 1 in the die one after the other on one side and then on the other side through the die cavity 7 through into the wall of the Tube element 1 pressed in (see Fig. 6).
The perforation is therefore carried out in such a way that the upper punch 9 is pressed into the upper wall up to the line A-A and the other punch 9 'is pressed into the lower wall up to the line <I> A' A '</I>. The insertion depth of the forming punch 9 'is greater because it is not restricted by the opposite wall, as is the case with the upper punch 9. As a result, the diametrically opposite parts of the wall are perforated, and two openings 10 and 11 with an inwardly flanged edge are formed.
The Formstem pel 9 is then pushed right through both diametrically located openings, whereby the beaded edge parts of the openings 10 and 11 are pressed flat against the mold cavity and the final shape of the fitting bedding according to FIG. 4 is created. The inwardly curved edges, which form a double-walled seat, ensure that the cylindrical fitting bedding that is formed receives edge stiffeners, which has a very beneficial effect on the strength of the connection.
The connection owes its special properties to the fact that the second pipe element is enclosed in the first pipe element and there is no need to explain that the tightly fitting enclosure has a further beneficial effect on the soldering and welding of the pipe elements, since soldering templates and such means are superfluous and furthermore the welding or soldering means due to the capillary action produces an extremely good mutual adhesion of the pipe elements.
It is noted that if the wall thickness of the pipe element to be deformed is greater with respect to the pipe diameter, the tip of the form stamp should be slimmer. Since the insertion depth for the perforation is limited, the deformation in such cases can take place in stages by introducing several punches of increasing size one after the other.
Although the invention is described above with reference to a connection in which the pipe elements intersect at an angle of 90, other angles are also possible, and the die cavities are accordingly to be formed at a corresponding angle to one another.
