Additional patent to main patent no. 367585 Process for the production of disazo dyes In the main patent disazo dyes of the formula (1) RN = N-Rl-N = NR "NH-X are described, in which R and R1 each represent a radical from the benzene or naphthalene series, R ., the residue of a naphthalenesulfonic acid bonded in position 4 to the azo bridge and in position 1 to the -NH- group and X is a 2-amino-4-halogen-1,3,
5-triazine core mean. It is also mentioned there that in the preparation of such dyes to form the radical R, 1-aminonaphtha # lin @ 8 sulfonic acid can be used.
It has now been found that the disazo dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0020
where R1 has the meaning given in the explanation of the formula (1), X is a halogenated pyrimidine or triazine radical and n is a whole positive number, are particularly valuable. The inventive method is characterized in that trihalogen-1,3,
5-triazines or at least trihalogenated pyrimidines on the one hand with aminodisazo dyes of the formula
EMI0001.0033
and on the other hand with ammonia or an organic, primary or secondary amine, condensed in such a way that halogenated condensation products are formed.
The starting materials of the formula (2) can be obtained by coupling a 1-aminonaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid, such as 1, N-methylamino-naphthalene-8-sulfonic acid or the unsubstituted 1-aminonaghthalene-8-sulfonic acid itself with a dianotated anu , inoa azo dye obtained by coupling a dianotated Äminobemzoldisulfonsäure z.
B. the 1-aminobenzene-2,5-dis # ulfonic acid with an amine of the benzene series, z. B. the oi-methanesulphonic acid derivatives of aniline, o-methaxyaniline and o-carboxy-aminobenzene (where the (o-methanesulphonic acid for the purpose of releasing the amino group according to:
the dye production is hydrolytically cleaved), also m-toluidine, 3-acetylamino-1-aminobenzene, 3-UTe:
ido-1-aminobenzene, 1-amino-2-methyl-5-, methoxybenzene, 1-amino-2,5-dimethoxy- or diethoxybenzene, 1-amino-3-methoxybenzene, 1-amino-2-methoxy-5-isopropylbenzene , 1-amino-2,5-dimethylbenzene or with 1-aminonaphthalene and in particular 1-aminonaphthalene-6- or -7-sulfonic acid obtained; becomes.
The diazotization for the preparation of the dyes of the formula (2) can according to metho known per se, for. B. with the help of mineral acid, especially hydrochloric acid and sodium nitrite. The coupling of the diazo compounds thus obtained with the mentioned 1-ami. # No-naphthalenesulfonic acids, which can couple in the 4-position, can also be carried out by methods known per se.
The primary or secondary amines preferably have fewer than 13 carbon atoms. As amines of this type, for. B :: methyl, dimethyl, ethyl, diethyl, propyl, isopropyl, butyl, isobutyl, hexyl or cyclohexylamine, also piperidine, morpholine, y-methoxypropylamine,
Methoxyethylamine, ethanolamine, propanolamine, aniline, N-methylane: iline, o-, m- or p-methyl- or methoxyaniline, o-, m- or p-aminobenzenesulfonic acid, o-, m- or p-aminobenzoic acid, also naphthylamine sulfonic acid, such as 1-naphthylamine-6-sulfonic acid, into consideration.
The condensation according to the invention is expediently carried out using acid-binding agents such as sodium acetate, sodium carbonate or sodium hydroxide and under such conditions that an exchangeable halogen atom still remains in the finished product, that is, for. B. in organic solvents or at relatively low temperatures in aqueous media.
The new dyes are suitable for dyeing and printing a wide variety of materials, in particular cellulosic materials with a fibrous structure such as linen, regenerated cellulose and, above all, cotton.
They are particularly suitable for dyeing by the direct dyeing method from a relatively dilute bath and by the padder dyeing process, according to which the goods are impregnated with aqueous and possibly also salt-containing dye solutions and the dyes are fixed after an alkali treatment, optionally under the action of heat be made to react with the fiber.
This process and the direct dyeing method, which can also be used with many of the dyes obtained according to the present process: result in valuable, washfastly fixed dyeings, while real prints are obtained after the printing process.
In order to improve the wet fastness properties, it is recommended that the dyeings and prints obtained in this way be rinsed thoroughly with cold and hot water, optionally with the addition of an agent that has a dispersing effect and promotes the diffusion of the unfixed dye components.
The dyeings obtainable with the new dyes on polyhydroxylated fibers, in particular cellulose-containing fibers, are generally characterized by good lightfastness, especially by excellent washfastness and very good chlorinefastness.
Dyeing is done according to the so-called catalyst process, after which the dyes are fixed on the fiber by means of ternary amines such as triethylamine or bicyclo- (2,2,2) -triethylenediamine (aza-bicyclooctane) or with other basic compounds such as N, If dimethylhydrazine is carried out without the action of heat, the fixation reaction is accelerated in the case of the dyes according to the invention, and, accordingly, deeper colors can be obtained in less time.
In the examples below, the parts, unless otherwise stated, are parts by weight, the percentages are percentages by weight, and the temperatures are given in degrees Celsius. Example 1 19 parts of cyanuric chloride are finely distributed in 300 parts of ice water.
The solution, neutralized with sodium carbonate, of 72.1 parts of the amino disazo dye, prepared by coupling the diazo compound from 1-aminobenzene-2,5-, disulphonic acid with 1-aminonaphthalene-6-sulphonic acid, further diazotization of the resulting aminoazo dye is added - Substance and coupling in a weakly acidic medium (pH 4 to 5) with 1-aminonaphthalene-8-sulfonic acid, in 500 parts of water.
The mixture is stirred for 2 hours at 5 'to 8 and the pH of the solution is maintained between 5 and 7 by gradually adding a dilute sodium hydroxide solution.
The solution of dichlorotriazine dye thus obtained is mixed with 50 parts of a 10% strength aqueous ammonia solution and the mixture is heated at 30 to 40 for 2 to 3 hours.
The resulting monochlorotriazine dye is then salted out, filtered off and dried. It dissolves in water with a red-brown color and dyes cotton in very real red-brown tones.
Example 2 In an aqueous solution of 64 parts of the aminodisazo dye neutralized with sodium ca @ nbonate, which is obtained by coupling diazotized 1-aminobonzene-2,5-disu @ lfanic acid with 1-aminonaph- thalin, We:
iterdiazotieren and coupling with 1-amino naphthalene-8 = sulfonic acid is obtained in a weakly acidic medium, are given to a neutral aqueous solution of the primary condensation product of 18.5 parts of cyanuric chloride and. 17.3 parts of 1-aminobenzene-3-sulfonic acid and stirred for a few hours between 40 and 60, the reaction mixture being kept neutral by adding a dilute solution of sodium carbonate.
When the pH does not change, the dye is salted out, filtered off and dried. It dyes cotton in real red-brown tones.
If the primary condensation product of cyanuric chloride and 1-aminobenzene-2-sulfonic acid or 1-aminobenzene-2,5-disulfonic acid is used as the condensing agent, dyes with similar properties are obtained. The following table gives further examples of colorants that are obtained
if you look at the components of the columns. I to III condensed disazo dyes with cyanuric chloride and the resulting: dirchlartriazine derivatives with the Vembindungen of column IV. The column V indicates the shade of the dyes obtained in this way.
