Device for winding a coil spring for zip fastener chains from a plastic thread
The invention relates to a device for winding a helical spring for zip fastener chains from a plastic thread, in which a rotating thread guide, which carries along a thread storage drum, is provided on the side facing a stationary winding mandrel with rotating embossing tools for producing the coupling elements of the helical spring windings.
It has already been proposed, in known devices or machines of this type, the plastic thread running off from a supply drum, e.g. B. made of a polyamide, and advantageously with a round cross-section, before winding for the production of any suitable coupling surfaces to run through embossing tools that are arranged and driven on the support of the supply drum or the thread guide. Naturally, it is not that easy to set and drive the embossing tools so that the coupling surfaces on the winding mandrel or on a filling core of the helical spring are always at the same circumferential point of the mandrel, in particular on the one oval apex with an oval or flattened profile of the mandrel and thus the corresponding coil spring, apart from the fact that the drive of the stamping tools causes difficulties.
The aim of the invention is to avoid special drives for the stamping tools for producing the coupling surfaces and to ensure that the coupling surfaces of the individual turns of the plastic coil springs of any profile used for the production of zipper chains are always at the same desired point.
Accordingly, the invention consists in the fact that in a device mentioned at the beginning, the embossing tools have a male mold and a female mold, of which one part passes through an immobile cam for each rotation of the thread guide for embossing the coupling surfaces of the plastic thread passing through between the female mold and male mold against the other part is pressed.
As a result, in one embodiment of the invention, the plastic thread with each revolution of the thread guide, i. H. During the production of each coil spring turn, a coupling surface is imprinted, which, regardless of the diameter of the winding mandrel, must always and inevitably lie at the same point on the circumference of all coil spring windings, since the circumference of the winding mandrel determines the trailing length of the thread with each rotation of the thread guide and the embossing tools with each rotation can only be actuated once to produce a coupling surface.
The production of the coupling surfaces with their constantly constant position on the circumference of each helical spring turn is thus guaranteed in a very simple way.
The drawing shows an embodiment of the device or machine according to the invention for winding plastic coil springs for zip fastener chains with the arrangement for embossing the coupling elements, namely show:
1 shows a longitudinal section through the winding device with a plan view of the embossing arrangement shown schematically,
FIG. 2 shows an end view of the embossing tools along line II-II in FIG. 1.
The winding device according to FIG. 1 is mounted in a machine frame 1 and consists of a winding mandrel 2, the profile of which is adapted to the profile of the helical spring to be produced and which can have a longitudinal recess through which a filling core 3 of the helical spring is passed. This winding mandrel is mounted in a rod-shaped cylindrical holder 4, which can be designed as a hollow cylinder for feeding the filling core 3. The mandrel holder 4 is provided at the free end with a winding cone 5, the task of which will be explained below. A thread storage drum 6 sits loosely rotatable on the mandrel holder 4, on which a plastic thread made of a polyamide or similar round or other cross-section is wound and can be stored in a suitable manner for removal. This storage is known and is therefore not described in detail.
A thread guide 7, which consists of two disks 7a and 7b, which are rigidly connected to one another by rigid bridges 8, works together with this supply drum 6. This thread guide is set in rotation via a gear 9 from a gear 10 of a driven shaft 11. The thread wound on the supply drum 6 is thereby
12 unwound against the winding device and runs through thread eyelets 13 and 14 of the thread guide 7 and then through embossing tools 15 which are attached to the end face of the thread guide disk 7a and thus participate in the rotation of the thread guide.
After going through the embossing tools
15, consisting of male and female molds, the thread wraps around the mandrel 2 by sliding it from the cone 5 of the mandrel holder, whereby the individual turns of the wound thread advance themselves through the winding and finally slide off the mandrel, whereupon they run through a conveyor 16 , in which the correct winding spacing of the coiled helical spring is produced and in which heating takes place to stabilize the correct winding spacing. The helical springs produced, which are optionally provided with a filling core 3, are then connected to a support band for producing a zip fastener chain.
On a stationary frame wall 17, which can also be a bearing wall for the thread guide 7, a stationary cam 18 is attached, which works either directly with the male or female mold of the embossing tools 15, so that the male mold against the female mold when the male mold runs onto these cams is pressed and thereby with each revolution of the embossing tools 15 a coupling surface is stamped on the plastic thread 12, whereby the cam 18 is of course fastened at such a point that when winding each turn the coupling surface is at the correct circumferential point of the helical spring turn. In the case of an oval or flattened profile of the helical spring windings, this coupling surface should lie in the pointed apex of the oval profile or in the middle on one of the narrow sides of the flattened profile.
In order to achieve this correct position of the coupling surfaces, the run-up cam 18 can be adjusted to match the circumference of the winding mandrel 2 on a circle around the winding mandrel axis. For this purpose one can proceed in such a way that the run-up cam 18 is displaced in an annular slot in the stationary wall 17, which is coaxial to the winding mandrel axis, and is fixed at the desired point. But it is also possible to fix the stop cam 18 with a ring
19 to connect, which can then be rotated around the mandrel axis and determined. Finally, it is also possible to provide a second overrun cam diametrically opposite the overrun cam 18, which can be adjusted together with the first overrun cam, so that each coil spring turn then has two embossed coupling surfaces which, for. B.
Represent widenings of the thread, with one coupling surface being used as the coupling surface, while the other coupling surface is diametrically opposite the former in each helical spring turn and only gives a widened guide for a slider if this side of the helical spring turns remains free when the helical springs are connected to a support tape and thus forming a guide for the slide flanges.
The embossing tools according to FIG. 2 consist of the die 15a and the male die 15b. The male part is cushioned outwards away from the female part 15a and its free outer end rests loosely against one arm 10a of a double lever, the other arm 20b of which rests against an arm 21a of a double lever which, with its other arm 21b, has a roller 22 on the inner circumference of the aforementioned ring 19 rolls. The inner circumference of the ring 19 is surmounted by the aforementioned run-up cam projecting inwardly. The double lever 21 is held against an adjusting screw 24 of the double lever 20 by a suspension 23, and this suspension also ensures that the lever arm 21b rolls on the inner circumference of the ring 19.
As soon as the roller 22 comes against the run-up cam 18, the levers 21 and 20 are pivoted, and the patrix 15b is thus pressed in the direction of the die 15a, the plastic thread running between the two tool parts being provided with a coupling surface. It is of course expedient to place the male mold 15b and the female mold 15a as close as possible to the winding mandrel 2, but the distance must at least correspond to the circumference of the winding mandrel. This avoids unnecessary thread stretching between the winding mandrel and the embossing tools.
Instead of the embodiment according to FIG. 2, spring-loaded plungers can also be used to actuate the embossing tools, the free end of which cooperates with the run-on cam 18.
Through the embodiment, the coupling surfaces are produced in a very simple way without special additional drive for the embossing tools, and above all, it is possible to constantly achieve a constant position of the coupling surfaces on the individual helical spring turns in a simple way.
