Method for sealing joints between components and device for carrying out the method The invention relates to a method for sealing joints between components using at least one. Hose made of elastic material inserted into the joint. The hose can be viewed as a joint strip and should therefore adapt to the width of the gap due to temperature fluctuations etc.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that the hose is inserted into the joint in the flattened, evacuated state and that air is supplied to the hose after it has been attached in the desired position in the joint, so that it is elastic against the joint Limiting components come to the plant. The main advantage of the invention is that the seal is extremely easy to manufacture.
An implementation example of the method according to the invention is described in more detail below with reference to the drawing. It shows: FIG. 1 a side view of two components with a hose attached between them serving as a joint strip, FIG. 2 a cross section through the components according to FIG. 1 with an embodiment of the hose,
3 shows a similar cross-section with another embodiment of the hose and FIGS. 4 and 5 are side views of a hose according to the invention, seen in two mutually perpendicular directions.
1 and 2 are two building panels or similar construction parts, for. B. Wall parts of a building. The components 1 and 2 are attached at a distance from one another so that a gap 3 (joint) is created between them, which is perpendicular in the example shown. A hose 4 made of rubber or a similar elastic material is arranged in the gap 3 between the components 1 and 2. According to the invention, the tube 4 is inserted into the gap 3 in a flattened, evacuated state.
After the hose 4 has been attached in the desired position in the gap 3, air is supplied to it so that, because of its elasticity, it comes to rest against the components delimiting the gap.
The hose 4, which of course can be made of such a material. must be able to withstand solar radiation and the effects of the weather, can have any suitable shape. In the simplest embodiment, the hose 4 has a circular cross-section. In certain cases, the cross-section can be such that the hose has to be forced into its sealing layer by an internal overpressure. The air supplied to the hose must therefore be compressed air.
If the tube 4 has a circular cross-section, the diameter of the tube 4 must be so large that the width of the gap is about 3/4 of the diameter. Several hose dimensions must therefore be kept in stock. A good fixation of the hose 4 is guaranteed by the aforementioned choice of diameter.
The fixation of the hose 4 and the sealing effect thereof can be improved by providing the hose 4 with longitudinal grooves or the like. The same effect can also be achieved by providing the hose 4 with a sticky coating. The hose 4 then adheres to the construction parts 1 and 2 in such a way that an effective and tight joint is obtained, regardless of any movement between the components 1 and 2.
In order to facilitate the attachment of the hose 4, the hose 4 is expediently supplied with air in sections, depending on whether the sections are brought into the desired position in the gap 3.
The hose 4 therefore consists of a flattened, evacuated hose which is preferably provided at regular intervals with clamps 5 and 6 or the like, which are removed from the hose 4 one after the other in order to allow the air to enter.
The flattening and evacuation of the hose 4 caused thereby can be carried out with the aid of two rollers, between which the hose 4 is passed. The clamps 5 and 6 can optionally be attached to the hose before it runs through the rollers, so that these also lead the clamps 5 and 6 for effective engagement with the hose 4.
In the event that the hose 4 is kept in stock for some time after the evacuation, it must be in. the shape of a tightly wound spiral can be brought. This prevents the air from penetrating the hose, despite the fact that it is not made of completely airtight material.
As can be seen from Fig. 3, the hose 4 comprises two side-by-side passages 7 and B. In the flattened, evacuated state, the hose 4 is to be brought into such a position in the gap 3 that the material surrounding the passage 8 is outside of the gap 3 comes to rest. After air has been introduced into the tube 4, the passage 8 is filled with any suitable material so that the tube 4 is fixed in the position it has assumed.
The part of the hose 4 having the passage 8 can expediently rest on a base within the components 1 and 2 so that the hose 4 is fixed in the assumed position.
