Pressure-relieved diaphragm valve As is well known, valves for high pressures are designed with pressure relief in order to be able to get by with small actuation forces. For this purpose, as is known, in the case of double seat valves, the passage cross-section is divided into two partial cross-sections that are equal in terms of force. However, such valves have the disadvantage that even small, unavoidable differences in dimensions between the valve seat spacing and the valve disk spacing render the relief ineffective and cause a sensitive disruption of the desired balance, even if elastic sealing elements absorb such differences in size.
It is also known to design the valve rods as relief pistons or to provide them with such. However, such valves must be appropriately sealed on both sides of the piston. This creates a high level of static friction, especially after long periods of inactivity. In the case of gaseous pressure media, a corresponding sealing pressure must be available. The static friction is also dependent on the differential pressure on both sides of the sealing elements.
In the case of diaphragm valves, the relief principle cannot easily be implemented. Such valves generally have a relatively small nominal diameter, so that a relief membrane must not be manoeuvrable with a relatively small diameter. Due to the necessary stroke movements, however, such high deformations are necessary that the forces to be applied become too high and the membrane is overloaded, which sooner or later leads to its destruction.
The deflection resistance of the diaphragm also increases very quickly with increasing stroke, so that the relief is no longer correct. The object of the invention now relates to a pressure-relieved diaphragm valve which, in contrast to the known designs, is provided with two relief diaphragms that form a func tional unit.
They are arranged so that the effective area of one relief diaphragm by the cross-sectional area of the valve opening is larger than the effective area of the other relief diaphragm and that the outer diameter of the two relief diaphragms is dimensioned independently of the cross-sectional area of the valve opening. Furthermore, the pressures on the relief membranes cancel each other out so that only their differential area corresponding to the cross-sectional area of the valve opening is required to relieve the valve closure.
All of this means that the relief diaphragms can be dimensioned according to purely structural aspects, because their clamping diameters are neither dependent on the valve cross-section nor on the other design of the valve nor on the medium pressure. They can therefore be chosen so large that their stress remains within the permissible limits. High deformations caused by the stroke movements no longer occur and overstressing of the membranes is avoided.
The resistance to sagging of the Meinbren can also be kept constant in this way, so that a complete relief is obtained that is permanently maintained. In addition, the service life of the diaphragm valve according to the invention can thereby be increased significantly.
In a preferred embodiment, the functional unity of the two relief membranes is structurally achieved in that they are arranged parallel to one another and spatially adjacent to one another, the facing sides of the two relief membranes enclosing a relief space between them. This is connected to the valve outlet space via a connecting channel.
The opposite sides of the two relief membranes, however, are connected to the valve inlet chamber, directly with respect to one relief membrane and indirectly with respect to the other relief membrane via a correspondingly arranged connection channel. The pressures acting on the relief diaphragms thus cancel each other out except for the pressure corresponding to the differential area and thus the valve opening.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in section.
Instead of the direct-acting valve shown, an indirectly-acting design can of course also be selected. Furthermore, it is irrelevant whether it is a straight-way valve or a two-way or multi-way valve. Servo valves can also be built according to the same principle. The subject matter of the invention is also independent of the type of drive of the valve. The design of the valve can therefore be any.
In the embodiment, the valve housing 1 is closed to the outside by the closing body 2, which is connected to the valve housing by means of a fastening disk 3 or in any other way. In addition, a guide sleeve 4 is provided, in which the guide body 5 is guided, which can be a plunger or a magnet armature. The guide body 5 is penetrated by the valve rod 6 or consists of one piece with it. The latter carries the valve disk 7 which closes and opens the valve opening 8 .
In the usual way, the valve also has the inlet 13 with the inlet space 14 and the outlet 15 with the outlet space 16.
According to the invention, two relief membranes are now installed in the closing body 2 and clamped in with their outer peripheral edges, namely the inner relief membrane 9 and the outer relief membrane 10, both of the valve rod 6 are interspersed and attached to it. Both membranes 9 and 10 are parallel to one another and are spatially adjacent to one another, so that a relief space 18 is created between them.
The compensation space 17, which is connected to the inlet space 14 by means of a connecting channel 11 in the closing body 2, is located above the relief membrane 10 . Furthermore, the relief space 18 is connected to the outlet space 16 by a connecting channel 12 in the valve rod 6 , which channel is also in the closing body 2 can be accommodated.
Both membranes 9 and 10 are therefore on their one side with the inlet space 14 and on their other sides with the outlet space 16 Connection. The inner relief membrane 9 delimits the inlet space 14 or also the outlet space 16, if, which is easily possible, the connection channels 11 and 12 be swapped with each other in a corresponding manner.
The inner relief membrane 9 has a larger clamping diameter than the outer relief membrane 10. The arrangement is such that the effective clamping surface F, the relief membrane 9 </ B> is larger by the cross-sectional area F, of the valve opening 8 than the clamping area F, of the relief membrane 10.
The condition resulting from this according to the formula F, = F, + F, or Fl = F, -F, can easily be adhered to, so that a complete relief or, if necessary, a precisely determinable partial relief occurs, which is independent of the pressure of the medium, the other design of the valve and its drive. The formula also shows that the outer diameter of the two relief membranes 9 and 10 can be selected according to the most favorable manufacturing conditions regardless of the valve opening 8 , whereby they differ from each other only by the size F.
When the valve is closed, the pressure of the liquid or gaseous medium is from below on surface F, and via the connecting channel 11 from above on surface F3. Since the sleeve 4 is closed to the outside in the usual way at its upper, not shown end, the pressure from above on the area F can only be increased according to the difference area of the membranes, i.e. according to the formula F, = F, - F3.
Should a counterpressure occur from the outlet 15 , this acts from below on the surface F, and via the connecting channel 12 from below on the surface F, and from above on the surface F , With respect to the membranes 9 and 10 , the pressures on the surfaces F and F are canceled out.
When the valve is open, the resulting pressure acts on both membranes 9 and 10 simultaneously on both sides of the same, so that the same differential effect results according to the formula mentioned. This means that in each individual case, that is to say in each operating position of the valve according to the invention, there is complete pressure relief regardless of the pressure of the medium and any counterpressure that may occur.
Another essential advantage of the subject matter of the invention is that the membranes 9 and 10, the closing body 2, the valve disk 7, the valve rod < B> 6 and the actuating elements of the valve are combined in a closed structural unit that can be installed or removed at any time without having to loosen the valve housing 1 and the valve connections.
All moving parts are thus housed inside the valve. The assembly of the valve can be carried out quickly and easily. The valve housing itself has the usual dimensions. A special design is therefore not necessary and the space requirement does not increase. If one of the two membranes should leak, the pressure medium cannot escape to the outside, because the valve is completely closed from the outside.
