Triäthyl-Sn-acetat 40 mg/kg p. o.
Tributyl-Sn-acetat 65 mg/kg p. o.
Triphenyl-Sn-acetat 125 mg/kg p. o.
Triphenyl-Sn-hydroxyd 120 mglkg p. o.
Hexabutyl-distannoxan 200 mg/kg p. o.
Hexaphenyldistannoxan 320 mg/kg p. o.
Hexabenzyl-distannoxan 310 mg/kg p. o.
Pesticides for treating crops and seeds
The invention relates to an agent for treating crop plants and seeds based on bis (trisubstituted tin) oxides or sulfides.
It is already known that trisubstituted tin salts such as triphenyl, trinaphthyl or tricyclohexyl stannanes, in which the fourth valence is occupied by chlorine or the acetyl radical, have, in addition to a good fungicidal and bactericidal effect, a greatly reduced phytotoxicity.
It has now been found that tin compounds of the general formula
EMI1.1
in which X is an oxygen or sulfur atom and R1, R2, R3, R4, R5, R6 are identical or different aliphatic, araliphatic, cycloaliphatic or aromatic radicals bonded via carbon, in addition to excellent fungicidal and bactericidal activity, a particularly low activity Have phytotoxic effects and can therefore even be used on particularly sensitive crops, for example vines and other berry bushes and fruit trees.
The compounds mentioned are also extremely effective as seed dressings.
The particular advantage of the compounds of the formula given above over known organotin compounds such as trialkyl and triphenyltin acetate lies in the considerably lower toxicity in warm-blooded animals, as can be seen from the following LD50 values: LD,; o in mg / kg
Body weight connection p. o. in rats
Triethyl Sn acetate 40 mg / kg p. O.
Tributyl Sn acetate 65 mg / kg p. O.
Triphenyl Sn acetate 125 mg / kg p. O.
Triphenyl-Sn-hydroxyd 120 mg / kg p. O.
Hexabutyl-distannoxane 200 mg / kg p. O.
Hexaphenyl distannoxane 320 mg / kg p. O.
Hexabenzyl-distannoxane 310 mg / kg p. O.
Those stannoxanes or stannothiones in which at least three or preferably even all six substituents R 1 to R 6 are phenyl radicals behave particularly favorably.
The new active ingredients can also be used as spraying, pouring, scattering or dusting agents, using inert carriers.
The preparations that contain the new active ingredients in the form of wettable powders, emulsifiable emulsion concentrations, suspensions, emulsions, dusts or scattering agents can, if necessary, as is also usual, additions of other known bactericidal, fungicidal, insecticidal or systemic active ingredients, even if this is not necessary for the effectiveness of the stannoxanes and stannothiones according to the invention, because they are already excellent active ingredients by themselves.
example 1
If 250 g of a dressing agent containing 10 parts by weight of bis- (tributyltin) sulfide and 90 parts by weight of talc are mixed with 100 kg of wheat seed that is heavily infected with wheat stone brandy, the disease incidence of the accrued wheat is 0.10 / o reduced, while seeds treated with commercially available mercury compounds have 2.50 / 0 infected seedlings and, if untreated, have an infection rate of 680/0.
Example 2
If grapevines infected with downy mildew are treated with a spray which contains 200/0 bis-triphenyltin oxide, 200 / o calcium lignosulfonate and 600/0 whiting, at an application rate of 400 g active substance per hectare, then despite massive infection with downy mildew sporangia no disease outbreak. Vine plants treated at the same time with a commercially available copper oxychloride preparation containing 500 / a copper at an application rate of 3.75 kg active substance per hectare showed 37.5% infected plants after ten days. Untreated control plants showed 100% infestation after ten days.
Example 3
Healthy potato plants of the Erstling variety were treated with a wettable powder containing 20 parts of bis-triphenyltin sulfide, 30 parts of calcium lignosulfonate and 50 parts of kaolin, at an application rate of 180 g of active ingredient liq. A copper oxychloride preparation with 500 / n copper at an application rate of 3.0 kg / ha, corresponding to 1.5 kg copper per hectare, served as a comparison agent. The treatment was carried out six times during the growing season at an interval of 14 days. The plant population was kept free from Phytophthora and other plant pests.
The yield evaluation had the following result:
In the plots treated with bis-triphenyltin sulfide, 28.90 / 0 tubers were harvested more than untreated, while the copper oxychloride plots were only 10.70 / 0 higher than the untreated ones.
Example 4
Sugar beets were treated with a wettable powder containing 20 parts of bis-tribenzyltin oxide, 20 parts of sodium lignin sulfonic acid and 60 parts of kaolin at an application rate of 180 g of active ingredient.
For comparison, sugar beets were sprayed with a copper preparation with 50 / ci copper at an application rate of 6.0 kg / ha, corresponding to 3 kg copper, and the yield was determined after the vegetation was complete. The result in the average of all repetitions was the following:
The sugar beets treated with bis-tribenzyzin oxide produced an additional yield of tubers of 36.30 / a, of leaf mass 37.8% compared to untreated ones. The sugar beets treated with the copper oxychloride preparation showed a reduced yield of 7.50 / 0 in root and 8.5 / v in leaf mass compared to untreated ones.
Example 5
Celery plants which were infected with celery rust (Septoria apii) were treated with a wettable powder containing 20 parts of hexacyclohexyldistannoxane as the active ingredient and 20% of calcium lignosulfonate, 59% of kaolin and 10 / o of polyoxyethylene nonylphenol treated at an application rate of 1.0 kglha. A wettable powder containing triphenyltin acetate and also 20% active substance served as a comparison agent, but was used at an application rate of 3 kg (ha. In addition, a copper oxychloride preparation with a copper content of 500/0 at an application rate of 6 kglha was used as a comparison agent.
While the parcels treated with hexacyctohexyldistannoxane remained practically free from infestation, the parcels treated with the triphenyltin acetate preparation had a good effect compared to the copper preparation, but which by far did not come close to that of the hexacyclohexyldistannoxane preparation, which was also the case in the Harvest results is expressed.
The plots treated with hexacyclohexyldistannoxane produced an increased yield of 97.5% compared to untreated ones, those treated with the triphenyltin acetate preparation produced a yield of 48.3%. The area treated with the copper preparation had an additional yield of only 12.7% compared with untreated. This clearly shows that hexacyclohexyl distannoxane is superior to the comparison agents.
Example 6
Sugar beet seeds infected with Cercospora beticola were treated at an application rate of 600 g per 100 kg of seed with a dressing agent which, in addition to 90/0 talc, contained 100% hexapropyl distannoxane as the active ingredient. By way of comparison, sugar beet seeds were dressed with two other dressings in the same amount, and one of them contained 1091o triisopropyltin acetate and 90% talc as the active ingredient, while the other contained 3.5% phenylmercuric acetate and 96.5% talc.
6 weeks after the beet emerged, the following infestation values could be determined:
The sugar beets dressed with the hexapropyl distannoxane preparation showed an infestation of Cercospora beticola of only 0.80 / 0, on the other hand the infestation rate of Cercospora beticola in the beets treated with tri-isopropyltin acetate was 13.20 / 0, in the beets dressed with phenylmercury acetate 15.70 / o.
Example 7
A one-year poplar poplar infected with Dothichiza populea was treated with 2.0 kg of a wettable powder per hectare which contained 20% hexaoctyldistannoxane, 20% calcium lignosulfonate, 590/0 kaolin and 10% polyoxethylated nonylphenol. A copper oxychloride preparation with 500/0 copper at an application rate of 6.0 kg / ha was used as a comparison agent.
The evaluation of the spray test showed that the poplars treated with 2 kg / ha of the hexaoctyl distannoxane preparation only lost 2.50 / 0 due to Dothi chiza, whereas the poplars treated with the copper preparation lost 43, 00/0, while the untreated herd showed a loss of 68.30 / a.
