Block bottom bag with reinforcement strips and seamless bottom
The present invention relates to block bottom bags with reinforcing strips and a seamless bottom.
Velrpack containers with reinforcing strips provided on the longitudinal and bottom edges and a seamless base are known, but they can neither be manufactured nor stacked when folded flat, which is now an indispensable requirement in mass production.
Such collapsible containers cannot run off a roll, that is to say, can be manufactured in a rotational manner.
The same disadvantages also adhere to a known collapsible container with a block bottom, in which strips of weldable packaging material folded inwards by the desired bag width on both long sides have welded seams on the two outer double-layered longitudinal edges and the non-welded, the fold parts forming the side surfaces of the collapsible container are folded back outward up to the weld seams. In the case of the latter folding containers, there is also the fact that they do not have any protruding reinforcing strips.
The formation of a bag with a bottom gusset and inwardly placed side gussets by folding over the edge strips of a web, laying the bottom gusset, folding the front surfaces over one another and connecting their edges is also known. These bags also have no protruding stiffening strips on the longitudinal and bottom edges. Double-layer edge folds are only provided at the filling opening, but these are more of a hindrance than useful with regard to a tight seal.
Furthermore, bags of this type, which are provided with punched cuts up to the area of the filling space from a blank, do not justify the use of weldable material, since the punched cuts do not guarantee sufficient tightness.
The present invention relates to a block bottom bag with reinforcing strips provided on the longitudinal and bottom edges and a seamless bottom. According to the invention, a further longitudinal reinforcement bar is provided between the longitudinal bars of the aforementioned reinforcing bars forming a U.
According to the method for producing such block-bottom bags, which is also the subject of the invention, strips folded inward by the desired bag width are formed on the two long sides of a strip of weldable material, which are welded to reinforcing strips on the two outer double-layered longitudinal edges , and the non-welded fold parts forming the side surfaces of the bag are folded back outwards to the weld seams, the bottom fold is placed on this, the front surfaces are folded onto one another and their edges are welded to form a further longitudinal reinforcement strip.
This gives the block bottom bag the following weighty advantages: As a result of the side seams or ribs or strips that run uninterrupted over the front and the bottom and, viewed from the side, surround the bag like two U-shaped supports, the bag is also properly shaped. Due to the additional longitudinal reinforcement strips, the bag can absorb relatively high loads from above without any significant deformation. The side edge seams or ribs or strips also protect the filling space against lateral pressure and damage.
Furthermore, the block bottom bag is characterized by increased stability, since the bottom surface protrudes by the width of the side edge seams or ribs over the actual filling space and there are no weld or adhesive seams on it. In addition, the side edge seams give the individual bag surfaces a different tension and prevent the front surfaces from lying on top of one another at the filling opening, which makes it possible for the bag to open more easily. When the bags are filled by machine, the grippers of the filling machine can easily grasp the side edge folds or ribs and open them without interference.
Finally, it should also be pointed out that the widening of the frontal areas results in a larger advertising area and that these do not have any breaks or folds.
An expedient further development of the invention consists in that reinforcements made of wire, metal strips, plastic, cardboard and the like are inserted into the edge weld seams of the reinforcing strips forming a U.
The production is advantageously carried out in such a way that wires or strips made of metal, plastic, cardboard or the like, which run off the roll in a known manner, are also placed on the inside of the film strip and the outside at a distance of the desired bag width The protruding parts of the film tape are folded inwards around the stiffeners on top, the edges welded behind the stiffeners, the non-welded parts of the folds forming the side surfaces of the bag are folded back outwards, the bottom folds are laid, the front surfaces are folded flat on top of each other and the half of the side surfaces lying on top of one another are continuously welded at the outer edges.
This additional stiffening increases the stability and shape stability of the block-bottom bag according to the invention quite considerably, which is particularly important when using liquid filling material. You can now also use much thinner and softer materials, such as. B. Poly Ïthylen, ¸Cellophan¯ (registered trademark) and the same without Tjrägerstoffe made of paper, cardboard or the like, because the bag is now his
No longer loses shape.
Another advantage is that the arrangement of the stiffeners avoids sharp folding of the bottom folds, which means that injuries in the material at this point are largely eliminated.
The bags are advantageously opened in such a way that four rounded rods of a spreading device on the filling machine grip behind the edge stiffeners near the bottom and push the front surfaces lying on top of one another apart.
In the drawing, the invention is illustrated in two exemplary embodiments from.
The first embodiment is shown in FIGS.
The longitudinal side surfaces 2 and 3 of the bag to be formed from a web section l are folded inwards by the desired bag width and welded to the edge strips at the edges 4, 5 and the non-welded longitudinal side surfaces 2, 3 are laid back outwards.
It is the state that can be seen from FIG. The bottom surfaces 6, 7 are then placed in the folds a, b, c, whereby the front surfaces 8, 9 are also obtained at the same time.
The welded edges 4, 5 form U-shaped edge reinforcement strips on the finished bag.
The front surfaces 8, 9 are placed on top of one another in the folds c, a with the coated sides and continuously welded together at the edges 10, 11 in order to form an additional longitudinal reinforcement strip between the legs of the aforementioned U-shaped strips.
In Fig. 2 the cut! tt shown in FIG. 1 in the state that only one welding of the side surface edges 10, 11 has to take place in order to hold the block-bottom bag illustrated in FIG. 3.
The bag can be modified in such a way that the side surface edges 10, 11 run diagonally from the bottom fold b to the folds a, c to the tip of the side edge seams 4, 5 and the superfluous outer triangle is separated.
The filled bag is closed in a known manner.
According to the second exemplary embodiment shown in FIGS. 4-9, stiffeners 13 are placed on the film strip 14 coming from the roll at a distance of the desired bag width (FIG. 4).
5 shows the film strip 14 in the state in which the outer fold parts 12 are placed around the stiffeners 13 inwards. 6 shows the welding of the fold parts 12 folded around the stiffeners. FIG. 7 shows the non-welded fold parts 12, which form the side surfaces of the bag, folded back outwards. 8 shows the front surfaces folded onto one another after the bottom fold has been laid and the outer edges 15 have been welded.
Fig. 9 shows the cross section of a corresponding bag.
