Pneumatic-hydraulic feed mechanism for moving the tool of a machine tool There are already various pneumatic-hydraulic feed mechanisms for moving the tools of machine tools are known, which have angeord designated controls on their moving and immovable parts, for a faster and a slower forward movement and a backward movement . With an appropriate arrangement of limit switches and intermediate switches and possibly time relays, it is possible to use such feed mechanisms to construct program-controlled machine tools that can automatically perform a large number of adjustable work cycles.
Especially with drills there is now the need to take the drill out of the hole more often when drilling a deep hole so that the drill chips can be transported out of the hole. There are already so-called disengaging devices which - after a certain drilling time or after reaching a certain drilling depth, quickly remove the drill from the borehole and quickly push it back into the borehole. As soon as the drill stands up in the bottom of the borehole, the feed slows down again to the slow feed speed required for drilling. It is obvious that in this way the tool wears out quickly and that no perfect holes can be drilled.
For a qualitatively good and nevertheless efficient way of working, it is rather necessary that the switchover from faster to slower feed takes place at a point that is just before the bottom of the drill hole. This can now be made possible by the feed mechanism according to the invention. This pneumatic hydraulic feed mechanism for moving the tool of a machine tool with a faster and a slower forward movement and for the backward movement of the tool, with control elements arranged on the movable and immovable parts of a feed unit, a time relay for switching from forward movement to backward movement and a limit switch for switching from the backward movement to the faster forward movement,
as well as a shift pin frictionally connected to the sliding parts for switching from the faster to the slower forward movement is characterized in that the shift pin has an adjustable stop on it, which can be set so that the shift pin during the slower forward movement of the shiftable Parts first carried along an adjustable distance and then its further movement is prevented in order to effect the switchover to the slower forward movement at a point that is the aforementioned distance before the point at which the last switchover of the slower forward movement followed the backward movement.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention shown on the drawing will be described with the aid of the accompanying drawing. In this drawing, Fig. 1 is a schematic representation of the parts of the tool feed mechanism on a drilling machine with the pneumatic-hydraulic and electrical lines necessary for understanding.
Fig. 2 is a time-path diagram showing the positions of the drill tip or any Punk tes of the movable part of the feed unit as a function of time.
3-5 show structural details of the front-thrust unit, specifically FIG. 3 shows a plan view of the piston housing and the switching pin, partly in section and partly without a cover.
FIG. 4 is a section along the line IV-IV of FIG. 3, while FIG. 5 is a section along the line V-V of FIG.
The pneumatic-hydraulic feed mechanism shown in Fig. 1 contains as components a pressure booster 1, a feed unit 2, a switching pin 3 and three three-way slides 4, 5 and 6. Although the use of three-way valves instead of three-way slides is more advantageous, the better representation is possible because shown in the drawing three-way slide. The electrical equipment includes the two timing relays ZRI and ZRII, the relays A, B, C, D, E, F and G as well as the double release switch HH and the mechanically operated limit switches K, L and M.
All three-way slide and all relays and switches are arranged on un movable parts of the mechanism, that is, as can be seen in part from FIGS. 3-5, on the piston housing of the feed unit 2 be fastened or connected to it, while with the movable Piston rod 30, with which the work tool is firmly connected in some known manner, and the switch pins are firmly connected ver, so the aforementioned switch pin 3 for the switch K, the switch pin 103 for the scarf ter L and the switch pin 104 for the switch M.
The pressure booster 1 consists of two mutually rigidly connected, mutually open pressure cylinders 11 and 12 of different diameters. In each of these cylinders there is a displaceable piston 13 or 14 ble. These are firmly connected to one another by a piston rod 15. A compressed air connection 16 leads from the cylinder 12 to the three-way slide 4, an oil pressure line 17 from the cylinder 11 to the feed unit 2. The opening 18 is used for the unimpeded entry and exit of the air in the space between the two pistons 13 and 14 and as a guide for the Piston 14 firmly connected pointer 19.
3-5 show details of the feed unit, which is only shown schematically in FIG. The control head 21 and the guide head 22 of the unit 2 are by screws 23 each with a closure ring 24, respectively. 25 screwed, which in turn are firmly screwed to the cylinder 27 by means of screws 26. In this cylinder there is a sealing sleeve 28 provided with you piston 29, which is firmly seated on the rod 30. This is led out through the guide head 22 and connected to a rod 32 by means of a driver 31 clamped onto it.
On this rod 32 a ver adjustable carrier 33 is clamped on her. A tube 34 is screwed into the free end of this carrier 33 and presses the guide ring 36, which is provided with two bores 35, against a shoulder 37 of the carrier 33 and thus holds it in place. In the guide ring 36 as a whole designated 3 shift rod is held ver slidably. At one end, on the left in the drawing, it has a screwed-on sleeve 38 secured by a lock nut 39. At its other end, a stop ring 40 is screwed, which carries a sealing O-ring 42 in an annular groove 41.
Furthermore, a clamping ring 44 is held firmly on the same thread 43 by a lock nut 45. Between the stop ring 40 and the clamping ring 44 there is a plastic brake ring 46 which, depending on the mutual position of the stop ring and clamping ring, exerts a different amount of pressure on the tube 34, which means that the friction of the switching pin 3 in the tube 34 can be adjusted as desired. It is useful if the two surfaces of the stop ring and clamping ring serving to press the plastic brake ring are formed conically in such a way that the distance between the outer ring edges is greater than the distance between the inner ring edges. The free end of the tube 34 is provided with a hose connection nut 47, from which a compressed air hose 48 leads to the three-way valve 6.
All three three-way slides 4, 5 and 6 are actuated electromagnetically, whereby the one lower connection opening in each case in the schematic FIG. 1 can optionally be connected to one of the two upper connection openings. Your constructive design can be any. As stated above, they can also be easily replaced by commercially available three-way valves. The electromagnets are fed by alternating current and the feed lines are switched on and off by relays E, F and G. Of course, the switching arrangement of this electromagnetic slide could also be designed differently.
The control head 21 (see Fig. 3-5) of the feed unit 2 has a housing 105 and a cover 49 which is fastened to the housing by screws 50. The spindle nut 52, which is held firmly by the cover 49, is inserted in a bore 51 in the housing. It is adjoined in the bore by a sleeve designated 53 and provided with openings 53a, which is closed by a guide ring 54. A subsequently arranged spacer sleeve 55 separates the guide ring 54 from the filter 56, which is pressed against the spacer sleeve 55 by the connecting nipple 57 screwed into the other end of the bore.
The regulating spindle 58 is screwed into the spindle nut 52 and is secured against unintentional unscrewing by a locking ring 59, and with the aid of which the flow regulating pin 61 provided with a piston 60 can be displaced relative to the ring 54 against the force of the spring 62. All of these parts together form an adjustable fine regulating valve, denoted schematically in FIG. 1 by 63, for the slow forward movement of the piston 29. The housing 105 has a bore 64 that is open towards the interior of the cylinder 24.
In this Boh tion 64 open the bores 65, 66 and 67 (see Fig. 4), of which the first connects to the Boh tion 51, while the second contains a check valve with adjustable maximum opening and the bore 64 with the through the Locking screw 68 closed bore 69 of the housing 105 connects. This bore 69 is connected to the bore 73 of the housing via two further bores 70 and 71. A part of the valve needle guide 72 provided with a transverse bore 77 extends into this. The valve needle 74 is pressed against the needle seat 76 by a spring 75. The bore 77 is connected to the bore 64 via the bore 67 already mentioned.
The actuation of the valve needle 74 is a guided in the guide 72 a screwed sleeve 78 plunger 79, which is firmly connected to a piston 80 guided in the cylinder 81 a related party. This cylinder is above and below by a cover 82, respectively. 83 completed, which are held in place by Seger rings 84 and 85. The opening 86 in the lower cover 83 seated on the sleeve 78 connects the cylinder space in which the spring 87 is housed with the outside air, while the compressed air line 89 (see FIG. 1) is connected to the connection piece 88 of the cover 82. This entire valve, which has the needle 74, is used for the rapid forward movement of the piston 29 and is only shown schematically in FIG. 1 and designated by 90.
The check valve consists essentially of the ball 92 loaded by the spring 91, the displacement of which can be limited by the regulating spindle 94 which is rotatable in the locking nut 93 screwed into the housing 105. This valve is also shown only schematically in FIG. 1 and is denoted by 96.
While the cylinder 11 of the pressure converter 1, the line 17 and the space between the Kol ben 29 and the control head 21 are filled with pressurized oil or another liquid for pressure transmission, all other connections are used for the supply of compressed air, the z. B. is obtained from a compressed air network. In the drawing, a compressed air tank is shown at 97. From it a line 98 leads to the feed unit and one to each of the three three-way slide, i.e. the line 99 to the three-way slide 4, the line 100 to the three-way slide 5 and the line 101 to the three-way slide 6. The third connection of each three-way slide is used to vent the cylinder provided with compressed air and opens into the open air.
The electrical equipment is only shown schematically in Fig. 1: Used here are independent AC connections for the actuation of the electromagnets of the slides 4, 5 and 6, which are denoted by c, and two independent control circuits, in wel chen one Connection pole is designated with y and the other with z. These circuits can be AC or DC circuits, they can also be connected to one another or configured in some other way. The scheme shown is only intended to show one possible implementation. In the de-energized state, the contacts of relays <I> A, B, C, F </I> and G are open, those of relays D and E are closed.
When voltage is applied to the timing relay ZRI by closing the double release switch H, a contact remains closed for a certain adjustable time so that the relay F is energized during this time and its two contact pairs are closed. If voltage is applied to the timing relay ZRII by closing the limit switch L, a contact remains closed for a certain, also adjustable time, so that the relay G is energized during this time. The most important switch for the advance mechanism is the switch K. It is closed when the switch pin 3 frictionally held in the tube 34 is touched lightly. This position is shown in FIG. 3 with dot-dash lines.
As you can see, the switching pin 3 can still move by the distance x until the sleeve 38 screwed onto it is pending on the housing 102. When the sleeve 38 is in contact with the housing 102, the pin 3 moves with a further movement of the piston 29 to the left, in FIG. 3 in the tube 34 to the right.
The switch L is actuated by the adjustable switch pin 103 and the switch M by the adjustable switch pin 104.
Now that all parts necessary to understand the function of the mechanism have been described, the mode of operation is explained below with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2. In FIG. 2, the location s of a point on the piston rod 30 or the tool firmly connected to it is shown as a function of time t. At the beginning of an operation the relays <I> A, B, C, D, E, F, </I> G are de-energized, the contacts of the relays <I> A, B, C, F, </I> G are open those of the <B> Relays D </B> and E are closed. Furthermore, the contacts of switches <I> H, K, </I> L and M are open. The electromagnet of slide 5 is energized, those of slides 4 and 6 are de-energized; the piston 29 is almost at the right end in the cylinder 27.
In Fig. 2 this position is denoted by a. If the double trip switch <I> HH </I> is closed briefly, the relays <I> A, B </I> and C are energized, and the timing relay ZRI starts to run and in turn energizes the relay F. The double switch <I> HH </I> is open again, then relay A holds itself via its own contacts as well as the contacts of relay F; the relays B and C are held by the contacts of the relays <I> B </I> and <I> D. </I> This position of the contacts is now shown in FIG. 1 of the drawing: The current coil of the slide 4 is energized, and the slide also assumes the switching state shown in Fig. 1 of the drawing.
The compressed air can flow into the cylinder 12 through the lines 99 and 16, there displaces the piston 10 so that the piston 13 firmly connected to it drives pressure oil through the line 17. The electromagnet of the slide 5 is also energized, so that the lines 100 and 89 are connected to each other and the compressed air keeps the quick-action valve 90 open: the piston 29 and with it the piston rod 30 with all the parts attached to it and the Tool shifted to the left in rapid forward movement against the elastic effect exerted by the compressed air on the other side of the piston: We are at point b in Fig. 2.
As soon as the switching pin 3 actuates the switch K, the relay E is energized, the solenoid of the three-way slide 5 is de-energized and the slide is thus switched over, so that the overdrive valve 90 is closed: point c in Fig. 2. Now the pressure oil can only flow through the appropriately set fine control valve 63 into the feed unit, so that the Kol ben 29 is moved with a slow forward movement to the left, during which the work tool edit the workpiece, so the drill can drill a hole.
As soon as the time t1 set on the timing relay ZRI (point d) has elapsed, the relay F is de-energized, the relay A drops out, the three-way slide 4 switches to venting, and the compressed air acting on the piston 29 through the line 98 moves it quickly to the right, since the pressure oil located to the right of the piston can flow back through the check valve 96 into the cylinder 11 and can reset the pistons 13 and 14. When the piston 29 has moved to the right by the distance x (point e), the switch K is opened again, the relay E is de-energized, and the slide 5 connects the line 89 with the compressed air line 100 again.
When the piston 29 has reached its starting position (point, the switching pin 104 actuates the switch <I> M, </I> the relay <I> A </I> picks up again and holds itself, as does the timing relay ZRI again begins to run and the relay F is energized. All contacts and valves are again in the position shown in Fig. 1. The rapid feed movement begins and in the diagram we come to point g. As soon as the switch pin 3 hits the switch K is actuated again (point h), the relay E is energized, the overdrive valve 90 closes, and the piston 29 moves with the slow speed corresponding to the setting of the fine regulating valve 63 to the left, from point h to point i in Fig.2.
It is now important to note here that the switchover does not take place when the drill has reached the greatest drilling depth of the borehole, but the adjustable distance x beforehand, regardless of how deep the borehole is, simply because the switch pin 3 can only be moved in the sleeve 34 when the Kol ben 29 has covered the adjustable distance x. The work cycle, which consists of a rapid advance, a slow advance and a backward movement, is repeated until the drilling depth 1, which can be set by means of the switching pin 103, is reached. Now this switch pin <B> 103 </B> closes the switch contacts <I> L, </I>, whereby the relay <I> D </I> is excited and the timing relay ZRII starts to run.
As a result, the current through relays B and C is interrupted, their contacts open, relay F is de-energized. The piston 29 returns to its starting position, and further actuation of the contacts M does not cause a new feed. This can only be triggered again by pressing the double switch <I> HH </I>. The timing relay ZRII energizes the relay G for an adjustable time, so that the three-way slide 6 is switched and the compressed air can flow from the line 101 through the hose 48 into the tube 34, where it switches the switch pin 3 in pushes its starting position back, whereby the entire feed mechanism is again in the starting position.
