Wire clip bottle closure with multi-part plastic stopper
The invention relates to a wire clip bottle closure with a multi-part plastic stopper, the upper part of which is made of a harder material and has a continuous clip web, to which upper part a cup-shaped lower part made of softer, elastic material is attached.
In the case of the known two-part or three-part plastic stopper on bottle closures of this type, the cup-shaped lower part consists of a relatively thin elastic material. The lower part is in this connection only at the edge with the upper part, so that it can practically be completely depressed. If such a closure z. B. used in bottles in which there is a strong excess pressure, this excess pressure can compress the lower part so strongly that a tight seal is no longer guaranteed.
According to the invention, this disadvantage is avoided in the case of a plastic plug of the type mentioned at the outset in that a support member extending from the bottom of the lower part to the upper part is attached inside the cup-shaped lower part in its center. The support member thus prevents a strong compression of the elastic lower part. The conical outer surface of the lower part resting on the edge of the bottle, however, retains its full elasticity, so that it presses firmly against the edge of the bottle.
The support member preferably consists of one piece with the lower part.
According to an advantageous development of the invention, the support member is designed as a sleeve connected to the lower part and supported on the bracket web of the upper part. In this case, the upper part expediently has a pin-like projection which engages in a clamping manner in the sleeve of the lower part.
The lower part can be provided at the edge with an annular shoulder which extends in the axial direction of the closure and which engages in a clamping manner in a corresponding annular groove in the upper part.
The invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.
1 shows, on an enlarged scale, a longitudinal section through a bottle closure.
FIG. 2 shows a longitudinal section through the closure according to FIG. 1 rotated by 900 about its longitudinal axis.
FIG. 3 is a section along line A-A of FIG. 1.
The plastic stopper has a practically cylindrical upper part 1 made of impact-resistant polystyrene, which is designed essentially like a cap and has a continuous bracket web 2 with a continuous opening 3 for receiving the wire bracket, not shown. The opening 3 is widened in a funnel shape at the ends. The upper part 1 is provided with an annular groove 4 in its annular end face.
The lower closure part 5 is made of elastic polyethylene or rubber and is cup-shaped. At the edge, it has an annular shoulder 6 which extends in the axial direction of the plug and which engages in a clamping manner in the annular groove 4 of the upper part 1.
In order to avoid too much compression of the lower part, it is provided in its interior in the middle with a sleeve 7, which is supported on the bracket web 2 of the upper part 1, so that practically only the conical jacket 8 of the lower part 5 retains its elasticity, which sufficient to achieve a tight seal between the stopper and the edge of a bottle equipped with this stopper. The internal pressure in the bottle is transmitted through the sleeve 7 directly to the bracket web 2 of the upper part 1.
A cylindrical pin 9 is also attached to the bracket web 2 of the upper part 1, which engages the sleeve 7 of the lower part 5 in a clamping manner and thus, together with the annular shoulder 6 seated in the annular groove 4, creates a firm connection between the lower part 5 and the upper part 1.
