Breathing apparatus, especially for divers There are breathing apparatuses, especially for divers, in which the air or another breathable gas mixture carried in a compressed air tank is relaxed to a pressure that is equal to the external pressure. For this purpose, the breathing device has a membrane housing provided with a membrane, which is fastened to a valve housing having the delivery valve for the breathing air.
The valve housing is fastened in a detachable manner on the compressed air tank and the latter is usually carried on the back by the wearer of the breathing device by means of straps or the like. One side of the membrane is under the influence of the external external pressure, while the other side of the membrane is subjected to the influence of the pressure of the breathable gas mixture supplied to the wearer of the breathing device.
On the inside of the membrane and within the corresponding Meinbrangehäuseteil a lever transmission is placed, which transmits the respectively effective elastic deflection of the membrane by means of a valve rod on the valve body of the delivery valve, so that each as required Breathing air passes from the compressed air tank into the interior of the membrane housing part and thus into the mouthpiece of the person wearing the breathing device.
In a previously preferred design of such Atern- devices, which can work with both open and closed breathing air circulation, an essentially one-piece valve housing was used, which is inserted into the interior of the Mernbrangehäuseteiles from the inside and provided with a protruding threaded pin.
The lever transmission actuated by the membrane is mounted on the inner flange-shaped extension of the valve housing and presses on a valve rod which can lift the valve piston off the valve seat, whereby the effect of a closing spring has to be overcome, which presses the valve piston against the valve seat and thereby the lead into the interior of the Merabrangehäuses keeps the outflow channel normally closed.
The guide for the valve rod, the guide for the valve piston, the valve seat surrounding the said outflow channel, and the sealing devices for connecting the compressed air tank are all arranged in this one-piece valve housing, which is fastened to the merang housing by means of a nut screwed onto its threaded pin. The mentioned closing spring is supported by means of a screen body covering the compressed air inlet channel on a snap ring which is let into an annular groove surrounding the compressed air inlet channel.
The compressed air inlet channel, which is surrounded by the sealing devices for connecting the compressed air container, opens on the end face of this valve housing facing away from the membrane housing.
Breathing devices of this type, however, only work reliably and safely if the supply valve regulating the air supply and in particular its sealing surfaces are in perfect condition. It is therefore essential to subject at least the delivery valve to periodic maintenance and to frequently clean its sealing surfaces. In the known designs, however, the removal of the delivery valve and the cleaning of the sen is not easy to carry out, since this requires removing the valve housing from the membrane housing and also removing the membrane for this purpose.
The reassembly then usually requires a new adjustment of the leverage, which is relatively critical and should be carried out by inexperienced personnel. The same difficulty arises if, for one reason or another, the valve housing is to be replaced as a whole in order to enable connection to compressed air tanks with other sealing devices.
The present invention now relates to a. Breathing device, especially for divers, with a membrane under the influence of the external pressure, which by means of a lever transmission actuates the supply valve for the breathing air, which is kept closed by a closing spring, in which the Merabran housing carrying the membrane is attached to a valve housing containing the supply valve is attached, the lever transmission is mounted on a - flange of the valve housing protruding into the Mernbran housing,
and at wel chem the end of the valve housing facing away from the diaphragm housing is provided with means for connecting the compressed air tank that supplies the breathing air. The above briefly mentioned shortcomings of the breathing devices of this type are remedied according to the invention because the valve housing consists of two parts, an inner part and an outer part, into which it can be dismantled, the inner part being on one side in the Merabrangehäuse and carrying the lever transmission , has the valve seat at its end protruding from the Meinbran housing,
which leads into the interior of the Meinbrangehäuses surrounds the outflow channel for the breathing air, and has an external thread for screwing on the outer part of the valve housing, and furthermore the part of the valve housing has the guide for a valve piston, the counter bearing for the valve piston on the valve seat has a pressing closing spring, is provided with the means for connecting the compressed air tank and has an internal thread for screwing onto the internal part of the valve housing.
- An embodiment of the present inven tion is shown in the drawing schematically and predominantly in section, the parts of the breathing apparatus that are not absolutely necessary for understanding the invention are not illustrated in more detail for reasons of clarity. Above the center line 1-1 in the drawing that design of the outer part of the valve housing is indicated, which for. the so-called e German connection of the compressed air tank comes into question, while below the center line 1-1 the design of the outer part of the valve housing for the so-called French connection of the compressed air tank is shown.
. The bendable membrane 2 is clamped between the shell-shaped Merabrangehäuseteile 3 and 4, which in turn are releasably held together by means of a circumferential clamping bracket_ 5 . The membrane housing part 3 has through openings, which are not illustrated, so that the left side of the membrane 2 is directly under the influence of the external pressure.
In the membrane housing part 3 the exhalation nozzle also opens, which serves to connect the exhalation valve which is still arranged within the membrane housing part 3 and which is usually designed as a lip valve. The right side of the membrane 2, however, is under the influence of the supplied breathing air, and the mine housing part 4 located on this air side of the membrane 2 is accordingly provided with an outlet nozzle for the inhaled air, which is taken in by the diver through the mouthpiece.
The exhalation nozzle leading into the Merabrangehäuseteil 3 , the lip valve connected to it, as well as the outlet nozzle for the inhaled air attached in the Merabrangehäuseteil 4 are not illustrated in the drawing. The membrane housing part 4 also has a central bore 6 through which the inner part 7 of a two-part valve housing, which will be explained below, protrudes.
This inner part that has an external thread 8 and at its protruding end the annular valve seat 9, which surrounds the axially extending part 10 of an outflow channel, which in the Area of the flange 12 of the inner part 7 merges into a radially outwardly leading part 11 , which opens out within the space enclosed by the Meinbrangehäuseteiles 4.
In the axial extension of the part 10 of the outflow channel 10, 11 , a guide 13 for a valve rod 14 is also attached in the flange 12, which the part 10 of the outflow channel 10, 11 penetrates with play and protrudes somewhat from the flange 12 at its flange-side end beyond the guide 13 . Finally, the two levers 15 and 16 are articulated on the flange 12 and transfer the deflections of the membrane 2 to the valve rod 14 in a greatly reduced manner.
To enable adjustment, an adjusting screw 17 is attached to one lever 15 , the head of which rests against the other lever 16 . Finally, a sufficiently elastic, ring-shaped sealing washer 18 is inserted into a recess in the flange 12 and is effective between the flange 12 and the facing inner wall of the Merabrangehäus- part 4.
The outer part 19 of the two-part valve housing 7, 19 has an internal thread 20, by means of which it connects to the external thread 8 of the inner part 7 is screwed on. On its end face facing the membrane housing part 4, the outer part 19 has a recess for receiving a sealing washer 21 which is located between the outer wall of the Meinbrang housing part 4 and the end face of the outer part 19 facing it of the valve housing 7, "19 is effective.
The Merabrangehäus- part 4 is thus clamped between the flange 12 of the inner part 7 and the aforementioned end face of the outer part 19 , whereby the membrane housing 3, </ B> 4 is detachably attached to the valve housing 7, 19 . The outer part 19 also has a to secure the screw connection between the mine housing 3, 4 and the valve housing 7, 19 . External thread 22 for receiving a counter nut 23 which presses directly on the minebridge housing part 4 when tightened.
Viewed in a direction pointing away from the membrane housing part 4, the internal thread 20 of the external part 19 is followed by a bore 24 and then another bore 25 of smaller diameter B> The bore 24 serves directly as a guide for the valve piston 26. which can be axially displaced in it. This has an embedded sealing piece <B at its end facing the valve seat 9 > 27, in which the valve rod 14 is inserted. The valve piston 26 with a square or hexagonal cross section is pressed against the valve seat 9 by means of a closing spring 28 .
The closing spring 28 is supported via a sieve 29 , which is also guided in the bore 24, on the annular shoulder 30 serving as an abutment, which is the other A hole 25 serving as a compressed air inlet duct surrounds it. At its end facing away from the diaphragm housing part 4, the outer part 19 has a flange 31 protruding radially outward, which acts as an abutment for an over the outer part 19 > The plugged-in connector 36 is used, by means of which the attachment of the compressed air tank to be connected takes place.
Depending on the nature of this compressed air tank, which is not illustrated in the drawing, the outer part 19 has either an axially protruding annular bead 32 on the face adjoining the flange 31 > (shown below the center line 1-1 in the drawing) or an inserted sealing washer 33 (in the drawing above the center line 1-1 given again).
With the so-called French connection of the compressed air tank, the latter has a sealing washer which is to be pressed against the annular bead 32 . A connecting piece is used here, which has a rotatable ring 34 on the outer part 19 and a U-shaped bracket 35 that encompasses the compressed air tank, the latter with a clamping screw for pressing of the compressed air tank is provided. In the drawing, the U-shaped bracket 35 is only broken off and the clamping screw is not shown at all.
With the so-called German connection , the compressed air tank has an annular bead that presses against the sealing washer 33 </ B > is to be pressed. Furthermore, the compressed air tank has an internal thread, so that a clamping nut provided with a corresponding external thread is used as a connecting piece, which is held rotatably on the external part 19 and itself supported on the flange 31 .
In any case, the sealing devices 32 or 33 surround the compressed air inlet channel 25 so that the connected compressed air tank opposite the outer part 19 </ B> of the valve housing 7, 19 is sealed.
If the external pressure inside the Merabran housing part 3 is equal to or lower than the air pressure inside the membrane housing part 4, then the closing spring 28 presses the valve piston 26 left, until its sealing piece 27 rests on the valve seat 9 and thus closes the outflow channel 10 . At the same time, the membrane 2 is bent slightly to the left via the valve rod 14 and the lever transmission 15, 16 , as the drawing shows.
The necessary deflection of the membrane 2 is adjusted accordingly using the adjusting screw 17 . If the air pressure in the membrane housing part 4 is lower than the external pressure in the membrane housing part 3, the membrane bulges 2 through to the right, sets the leverage 15, 16 in motion, moves the valve rod 14 and the valve piston 26 to the right, and thus opens the delivery valve 9 , 27 as long as
until the air pressure inside the diaphragm housing part 4 is again approximately equal to the external pressure inside the diaphragm housing part 3. The supply valve 9, 27 then closes again and the in The starting position shown in the drawing recently.
The control, overhaul or cleaning of the critical parts of the breathing device and in particular of the delivery valve 9, 27 contained therein can now be carried out extremely easily and reliably. To do this, loosen the counter nut 23 and screw it back to the right on the outer part 19 . The outer part 19 can then be unscrewed from the inner part 7 , with the inner part 7 being inserted in the membrane housing 3, 4 remains. If the outer part 19 is removed to the right, the valve piston 26 , the closing spring 28 and the strainer body 29 </ B > Can be easily removed.
Finally, the valve rod 14 can also be pulled out of the inner part 7 to the right, as long as it has not been removed from the valve piston 26 beforehand when the outer part 19 is removed has been taken. All parts of the feed valve and in particular the valve seat 9 and the sealing surface of the sealing piece 27 of the valve piston 26 are then completely free and easily accessible so that they can be perfectly checked for damage, defects, salt deposits and the like using the magnifying glass and, if necessary, cleaned using a compressed air jet or reworked using tools.
Blowing through the outflow channel 10, 11 and the guide 13 can also easily take place without the inner part 7 of the valve housing 7, 19 can be removed from the Meinbrang housing 3, 4 and the latter would have to be dismantled itself. The reassembly of the delivery valve and its valve housing parts can also be seen to be easy to accomplish.
It is correspondingly simple to change the outer part 19 of the valve housing to, for example, have one with the French connection and an annular bead 32 provided outer part 19 with one for the German connection and with a sealing washer 33 to replace the equipped outer part 19 and also to exchange the related connecting pieces 34, 35 or 36 .
All of this adaptation work can be carried out without having to remove the inner part 7 from the membrane housing 3, 4, so that there is no need to dismantle the membrane housing.
