Pressure-maintaining hydraulic clamping device, in particular on machine tools. The invention relates to a pressure-maintaining hydraulic clamping device, with which it is possible to maintain the clamping pressure in the pressure cylinder over a longer period of time, which accordingly after reaching the clamping pressure, for. B. during the processing of the workpiece, is independent of the pressure medium supply.
Clamping devices are known in which the tension is carried out by spring pressure and the pressure is released hydraulically or pneumatically.
Furthermore, hydraulic or pneumatic tensioning devices are known in which the tensioning as well as the relaxation takes place indirectly via a pressure cylinder through the pressure medium.
The latter, however, have the disadvantage that in the event of malfunctions in the supply line or failure of the pump, the clamping pressure holding the workpiece drops suddenly, with the result that the workpiece, which is usually still rotating, falls off or is still in engagement tool located is damaged.
The device tensioned by the spring pressure has the disadvantage that the tensioning pressure, caused by the spring characteristics, decreases considerably when the spring is fatigued, and this has an even more unfavorable effect.
In order to eliminate the considerable drop in the clamping pressure, devices for pneumatic and hydraulic clamping devices were created, which are attached directly in front of the pressure cylinder and close the pressure chamber after the pressure has dropped.
Such shut-off devices are usually designed as a piston-shaped valve that opens the supply line under the pressure of the pressure medium, so that the pressure medium can reach the cylinder, while when the pressure in the cylinder decreases, the slide is moved by spring pressure and closes the pressure chamber. Relaxation is then carried out by moving the locking piston using a rack and pinion, or hydraulically or pneumatically.
Such a device prevents a large part of the pressure medium from escaping from the pressure chamber when the pressure in the supply line drops and the clamping device releases the clamped workpiece or tool, but it also has considerable disadvantages. If the pressure for clamping suddenly stops, a certain amount of the pressure medium will escape from the cylinder before the locking piston closes the pressure chamber by the spring force, so that the clamping pressure drops relatively quickly, with leakage also contributing here.
In order to maintain a certain clamping pressure, the pump must continuously deliver pressure medium, which only flows out through an overflow valve. So useless energy is expended here, most of which is converted into heat. Furthermore, the final release of the clamping device by mechanical or hydraulic means requires considerable construction effort.
The invention is now based on the object of creating a pressure-maintaining hydraulic clamping device in which after reaching the clamping pressure without pressure loss, the pressure chamber is automatically closed, which is no longer dependent on the pressure medium supply line and the clamping pressure, for. B. is maintained automatically over a longer period of time during processing of the workpiece.
According to the invention, this is achieved in that a locking piston is provided as the locking member, which can be pushed into the pressure medium inflow line, the rear side of which, loaded by a closing spring, is acted upon with pressure medium via a line that is inclined from the pressure medium inflow line between the locking piston and the clamping pressure chamber and the clamping pressure is applied Closure of the clamping pressure space is maintained by an elastic clamping means, the clamping means and the pressure means located in the pressure space acting on one another continuously through pressure.
The invention will be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention, which is shown in the relaxed state and for a gear cutting machine.
The pressure holding clamping device is attached to the workpiece carrier of the gear cutting machine. It has a pressure cylinder 1 in which the tensioning piston 2 and through the spring 4 of the auxiliary piston 3 move. On the clamping piston 2 on a receiving sleeve 5 is arranged, which receives the mandrel 6 for fastening the workpiece.
The supply of the pressure medium during tensioning takes place from the pump through a hose into channel 7, then into cylinder space 8 of release piston 9, at the same time also into cylinder space 10 of locking piston 11 and through channel 12 via channel 13 into pressure space 14 between the tensioning piston 2 and: the auxiliary piston 3, as well as behind the locking piston 11 acted upon by the spring 15.
When relaxing, the pressure medium from the pump passes through another hose into channel 16 via channel 17, then into cylinder space 8 of lifting piston 9 via channels 18 and 19 into cylinder space 20 behind tensioning piston 2.
The mode of operation of the pressure-maintaining hydraulic clamping device is as follows: Pressure medium is supplied from the pump via a hose through the channel 7. This enters the cylinder chamber 8 and pushes the release piston 9 from the position shown to the right, but at the same time also into the cylinder chamber 10, so that after the spring pressure of the spring 15 has been overcome, the locking piston 11 is moved to the left, as shown, and the channel 12 releases. From here the pressure medium flows via the channel 13 into the pressure chamber 14. As a result, the clamping piston 2 and with it the mandrel 6 for clamping the workpiece is moved to the right via the receiving bush 5 until the workpiece comes to rest.
By further supply of liq fluid begins to build up in the pressure chamber 14 of the clamping pressure, whereby the auxiliary piston 3 is pressed against the spring 4 and this tensioned. During the clamping process, that is, as long as the pressure medium is flowing, the pressure in the pressure space 14 and the channel 13 is lower than in the channel 7 and the cylinder space 10.
After the clamping pressure has been reached, due to the calm in the liquid, a certain pressure equalization takes place via the channel 12, that is, the pressure difference between channel 13 and cylinder chamber 10 is reduced, so that the pressure via the channel 13 through the liquid and the spring the locking piston 11 acted upon by the spring 15 moves somewhat to the right, but this movement causes a very slight pressure drop in the channel 13 and the locking piston again performs a slight reverse movement. This back and forth movement of the locking piston 11 takes place until it has automatically closed the channel 12, apart from a purely theoretically existing minimal control gap.
This ends the clamping process and the supply of the pressure medium, or the pump, is switched off, whereby the pressure in the channel 7 and cylinder chamber 10 becomes zero, the locking piston thereby, without a pressure drop in the pressure chamber 14 being recorded, a certain overlap of the channel 12 calling forth, moved to the right by a small amount until it is supported on the air piston 9. During the time in which the device is in the tensioned state, any leakage losses that occur are largely compensated for by the spring force acting on the spring 4 via the auxiliary piston 3.
After completion of the machining of the workpiece, the pressure medium is fed from the pump via a hose through the channel 16 and passes through the channel 17 and the cylinder space 8 via channels 18, 19 into the cylinder space 20 behind the clamping piston 2. By the forming Pressure in the cylinder space 8 moves the release piston 9, and with it the locking piston 11, to the left.
The locking piston releases the channel 12, so that the pressure medium from the pressure chamber 14 and the channel 13, caused by the pressure difference in the channel 7 and in the pressure chamber 14, as well as by the pressure of the pressure medium flowing into the cylinder chamber and acting on the clamping piston 2 , escapes via the pump and thereby the clamping piston 2 and the auxiliary piston 3, as shown in the illustration, are brought into their starting positions. So that the pressure-maintaining hydraulic clamping device is in the relaxed state and any additional voltage can be made in the same way. The pressure-maintaining, hydraulic clamping device can also be used to tension the tool, for.
B. for clamping knife heads on bevel gear milling machines.
