Electrical device for digital control or regulation The present invention relates generally to digital control or regulating devices, in particular to devices for program control of a movable organ, for example the position of a machine part, as is desirable in the operation of some machines. For example, the same organ relative to control of a first movement in a predetermined position and the automatic correction of the position of this organ relative to the fixed position of a second organ, in particular to maintain a certain distance, should be mentioned.
For digital control, a control signal is generated in digital form that corresponds to the difference between the actual position of the organ and the ge desired position.
It is an object of the invention to provide a digital control or regulating device in which a first control signal corresponding to a predetermined difference between a second control signal, which relates to a predetermined desired position of the organ (target value), and a third Control signal that corresponds to the actual position of this organ (actual value) is generated. The first control signal (system deviation) is intended to influence the direction, size and speed of the adjustment movement.
This signal can be related to a further control signal (carrier signal) that determines the direction of the correction movement. The aim of the invention is to achieve rapid and precise regulation of the position errors. For this purpose, the design of the subtraction device for obtaining the control signal or the rule deviation is of particular importance.
The invention is characterized in that the subtraction takes place place by place by adding basic signals and complementary signals with the aid of gates.
For a more detailed explanation of the invention, reference is made to the drawing, in which an embodiment of the invention is shown schematically.
First of all, Fig. 1 shows the basic structure of a digital position control, as has already been proposed elsewhere. The FIG. 1 relates to the setting of the thickness of a metal strip 16 in rolling mills. The metal strip runs between an upper roller 12 and a lower roller 14 of a rolling mill 10.
The thickness of the strip can be influenced in that an adjusting motor 30 adjusts the roller 12 more or less in the direction of the roller 14 via a spindle drive 32 . A Leonard generator 58 is provided to power the motor 30 .
The nominal value of the position of the roller 12 and thus the thickness of the strip 16 is specified by means of a perforated card 18 or a similar information carrier, which is set in an evaluation device 20. The evaluation device supplies a binary control signal (X) with any number of digits, with each digit either having the value 0 or 1 , corresponding to the values punched out in the punch card not punched out fields. The digital signal is fed to a storage device 22, at whose output the signal is continuously available as a setpoint value. The setpoint value is fed to a digital subtracter 26 .
The second input of this device receives a digital signal (Y) derived from the actual position of the roller 12, which has the same number of digits as the setpoint signal. For this purpose, an analog-to-digital converter 28 is provided, at whose input the analog position signal is fed and at whose output the digital signal appears. It is possible to use a coupling 34 in the connection between the motor 30 and the converter.
The subtracter forms the digital difference between the setpoint signal. and the actual value signal and provides a digital control signal (XY) at the output to the digital-to-analog converter 42. For more details, with regard to the basic structure of the program control device, reference is made to Swiss patent specification no. 360715 .
The continuously changeable deviation signal appearing at the output of the digital-analog converter 42 is used to control an amplifier 44, for example a magnetic amplifier, which has a regulator 48 for controlling the excitation windings 56 and 56 57 of the generator 58 . It is possible to provide a feedback via a tachometer machine 50 . Details can be found in the above-mentioned patent specification.
More detailed information on a proposed structure of the digital-to-analog converter 42 is contained in Swiss patent specification no. 360,518 .
In FIG. 2, the design of the digital subtraction device 26 is indicated schematically. It consists of three levels 91, 93, 95 for three digits of the digital setpoint and actual value signal. Of course, the number of stages can be increased as required. It essentially depends on the required accuracy.
As can be seen from FIG. 2, the complementary locations and ″ are taken from the storage device 22 and each supplied to an input of the stages in the corresponding sequence.
The same happens with the places Yl, Y2, Y "and the complementary places Y" Y, and f. of the actual value signal from the analog-digital converter 28. At the outputs Dj, D2> D 3 of the stages, a so-called appears for each position Difference signal from which the system deviation signal is created by combining all stages.
The signals are fed to the digital / analog converter 42 for processing.
In addition, the first stage 21 receives a carrier input signal C., which corresponds to the negative reference potential BB- of the supply voltage source. The first stage 91 supplies a carrier output signal a1C1, which in turn is fed to the input of the second stage. The carrier output signal C, of this stage is fed into the third, stage 95 , whose carrier signal C, the digital-to-analog converter 42 to determine the Direction is supplied to the corrective movement.
Figr. 3 shows a binary table in which the possible operating states of each stage in the subtracting device 26 are shown, specifically in relation to the various possibilities for combining input signals. The third and fifth columns of the table indicate the binary value of the carrier input signal and the carrier output signal of each individual stage, while the fourth column shows the output difference signal D of the stage. The table applies to any stage of the subtracter.
Fig. 4 shows a scheme of a device, according to the table according to FinG. 3 is working. A first AND gate 110 with two inputs and one output can be seen, one input receiving a signal via an OR gate 114 whose inputs are occupied by the complementary signal 1 and by the Y signal will. If either the Y signal or the Y signal has the value 1, then the first input 112 of the AND gate 110 is occupied. An OR gate 120 is assigned to the second input 118, the inputs of which the signals Y and X are supplied.
The output signal of the AND gate 1, 10 is fed via an OR gate 122 to the first input 124 of a further AND gate 126 , which supplies an output signal ii when both inputs are occupied . The D signal can . be converted into the D signal by a non-gate. The OR gate 122 also receives the carrier signal C "1" at its second input.
Analog gate combinations are assigned to the second input 128 of the AND gate 126 , consisting of the two OR gates 140, 142, which the inputs 136 and 138 of an AND gate 134, and the OR gate 132 with a second input that holds the complementary carrier signal i # U. The OR gates 140 and 142 emit a signal when the input signals X or Y or 2 or Y have the value 1 < / B> have. A circuit constructed according to the scheme of FIG. 4 is contained in each individual stage of the subtracting device.
Fig. 5 shows schematically a circuit for forming the carrier signal, which is assigned to each individual stage. It contains an AND gate 150 whose inputs are occupied by the signals X and Y, and which can supply an output signal to an OR gate 152 . A second input of the OR gate is occupied by the carrier input signal C . The signals X and Y are also fed to a further OR gate 160 .
The two OR gates 152 and 160 are connected to inputs 154 and 158 of an AND gate 156 , which has the Emits carrier output signal and feeds it to the next stage of the subtracting device. In the last stage (95 in FIG. 2) the carrier output signal is fed to the digital-to-analog converter 42.
FIG. 6 shows an example of a circuit structure for realizing the schematic circuit according to FIG. 4 and FIG. 5, in other words the internal circuit of any stage of the subtraction direction 26. Similar circuit elements are provided with the same reference numerals as in FIGS. 4 and 5 . It is assumed that it is the second stage 93 in FIG. 2.
Each transistor works as a non-gate and is blocked when no input signal is applied. In order to ensure the blocking, a preload is provided via the BB + terminal. As soon as the base of a transistor receives a negative signal, it becomes permeable and has practically zero resistance.
The complementary signal Y i is fed to the base of a transistor 180, whose output signal (collector voltage) represents the signal X i. Conversely, the collector potential of the transistor 182 again corresponds to the complementary signal y2- The second point Y, of the actual value signal, is the transistor 184 and the complementary point Y, the transistor 186 fed. The collector potential of transistor 184 corresponds to signal F., the collector potential of transistor 186 corresponds to signal Y ..
Such an arrangement is possible if the analog-digital converter 28 outputs both the position signal and the complementary position signal as desired. If this is not the case, the base electrode of the transistor 186 can also be connected to the collector electrode of the transistor 184, similarly to that of the transistors 180, 182 happens. Z> The carrier signal Ci is fed to the base electrode of transistor 188 so that its collector potential corresponds to the complementary signal E, .
The collector potential of the transistor 190 represents the signal C, like that. In a similar way, depending on the available input signals, a signal can be reversed by further transistor stages as desired.
The AND gate 110 consists of a network of resistors and diodes, the first input of which is occupied by a first OR gate 114 with two diodes. Signal 7 from the collector of transistor 182 and signal Y2 from the collector of transistor 186 are fed to the two inputs of OR gate 114. The second input of undgate 110 is occupied by OR gate 120, its inputs to the collector of transistor 184 (Y2) and to the collector of transistor 180 < / B> (X2) are closed.
The output signal of the AND gate 110 is combined with the signal C via an OR gate in the form of a valve 122, the output signal of which is the one input 135 of the und gate 126 < / B> is supplied.
The two inputs of the second AND gate 134 are connected to the outputs of two OR gates 140 and 142, which in turn are connected to the transistors 180, 182, 184 and 186 in FIG 4. The output signal of the AND gate 134 is combined with the complementary carrier signal -Ü, via an OR gate 132 and the second input 125 of the AND gate < B> 126 supplied. The output signal of the AND gate 126 controls the transistor 192 , which again works as a non-gate.
The collector voltage of transistor 192 represents the difference signal D, , which can be picked up at terminal 195 . A subsequent non-gate 194 supplies the complementary difference signal 42. The carrier signal C, for the next stage is generated with the aid of an AND gate 150 , the two inputs of which via diodes 196, 198 with the signals X, and Y, occupied.
The output signal of the undu gate is combined with the carrier input signal Ci in an OR gate 152 and fed to one input 154 of the und gate 156 . The second input 157 of this AND gate is occupied via an OR gate 160 , to whose inputs the signals X2, Y2 are also applied. The carrier signal C , which can be picked up at terminal 197 , arises at the output of the AND gate 156 .
FIG. 7 shows an overall diagram of the circuit according to FIG. 6, from which the individual operative connections emerge more clearly. The non-gates are illustrated by rectangles.
In Fig. 8, the movable upper roller 12 is indicated relative to the fixed lower roller 14. The output signal at terminal 195 determines the digital difference for a specific point of the entire deviation signal and thus the amount required to compensate for the deviation. The carrier signal C2 at the terminal 197 determines the direction of the corrective movement of the roller 12 with respect to the roller 14. Further details can be found in the aforementioned patent specification no. 360518 </ B> can be removed.
The subject of the invention is based on the use of transistors in conjunction with valves and resistors for subtracting two binary numbers. The difference is used as a control or control deviation signal. The digital subtracter 26 forms the difference between the actual value signal (Y) and the setpoint signal (X) as a difference signal D for the digital control.
The subtracting device basically works as an adding device, since the mode of action of the subtraction is based on the fact that the learning of one binary number to the other binary. Number is added. If two identical numbers are added in this way, the result is not zero, but a number that can be prescribed to the control device as a zero equivalent.
If the entered numbers X and Y now diverge by a certain amount in any direction, the difference D moves away from the number that would be assumed to be zero equivalent by the same amount.
A binary number with one place can only have two values, either the value 0 or the value 1. A binary addition of two single-digit numbers X and Y therefore yields a number, which can also have the value 0 or 1 . In addition, a further input and output is required to feed in a carrier input signal which is determined from a preceding addition and to supply a carrier output signal which modifies the subsequent addition. The binary.
Addition of two multi-digit numbers X "X2 ... X" and YI, Y2 .. . Y "is therefore carried out in such a way that the process remains the same for each corresponding position as long as the carrier input signal is supplied from the previous position and can be transmitted to the following positions. In the corresponding electrical Setup requires a stage for each digit, so that the addition of two signals with n digits requires n stages accordingly.
The more detailed explanation of a stage on the basis of FIG. 6 also applies equally to the other stages of the entire device.
In the exemplary embodiment, it was assumed that the memory device 22 supplies the complementary signals 2. Instead, the basic signals can also be taken from the stage and converted into the complementary signals using non-gates.
Instead of the semiconductor gates used in the exemplary embodiment, gates of any other design, for example based on transducers, can also be used.
