Fig. 7 stellt ein Schaltschema des Prüfgerätes dar.
Measuring device for measuring mechanical quantities
The invention relates to a measuring device for measuring mechanical quantities, in particular forces, strains, stresses and movements according to the Trä gerfrequenzverfahren.
Tube amplifiers have hitherto been used as amplifiers for such measuring devices, which are unsuitable, in particular for measurements in motor vehicles and aircraft, because of the network dependency of their power supply and their sensitivity to vibrations and because of their large dimensions and output powers.
In the measuring device according to the patent claim of the main patent, AC amplifiers with miniature amplifier elements are used whose maximum usable output power is less than or equal to 200 milliwatts.
The device according to the invention forms a further development and improvement of the device according to the claim of the main patent. According to the invention, such a measuring device with an input bridge for modulating the carrier wave and with resistors or coils that can be used as electromechanical transducers as bridge branches has a motor generator for generating the carrier frequency and a test device that can be connected to the amplifier for testing the amplifier and the power supply.

Fig. 1 shows the circuit diagram of an amplifier device with transistors. The dash-dotted borders mark assemblies that are housed in a common chassis and can be easily replaced. The assembly I contains a branch of the input bridge with two balancing resistors (strain gauges) 1 and 2, which are housed separately from the measuring resistors 3 and 4 in the amplifier housing and together with the resistors 3 and 4 form a complete bridge. When testing the amplifier and calibrating the sample values, the measuring resistors 3 and 4 are replaced by test resistors 3 'and 4' that are in the test device.
The assembly II comprises the measuring range switch 5, 5a with the calibration resistors 6 and the series resistors 7 for the input bridge I. The calibration resistors 6 can optionally be connected in parallel to the strain gauge 1 by means of the measuring range switch 5, 5a mounted on the amplifier chassis and the button 9 a detuning of the bridge, which corresponds to a certain elongation value. The deflection on the oscilloscope that this calibration resistance causes results in a calibration standard for a mechanical quantity.
The assembly III comprises the three-stage, linearly operating transistor measuring amplifier with the input transformer 10, the transistors 11 ', 11 ", 11"', the output transformer 14 and with the built-in battery contacts 44, 45 (Fig. 5), sensitivity controller 12, Base resistors 80 and 81, working resistor 86, voltage divider 87, 88, coupling capacitors 82, 85 and grounding capacitors 83 and 84.
Assembly IV contains the output bridge with the ring modulator 15, consisting of four germanium diodes 15 ', 15 ", 15"', 15 "" and the resistors 16 and 16 'for balancing the output bridge. Assembly V consists of the filter with the choke coil 17 and capacitors 89 and 90. The vibration recorder 109 (Fig. 10), not shown, is connected to terminals 17/1 and 17/2.
Power is supplied by a dry battery 19, which is located in a separate assembly VI. The battery 19 has a voltage of 3 volts and supplies a maximum current of 15 milliamps, so that the power consumption of the amplifier is a maximum of 45 milliwatts. The battery circuit is closed by a switch 18 which can be combined with the potentiometer 12 acting as a sensitivity regulator.
FIG. 2 shows an additional device for measuring with inductive transmitters, which is connected to the amplifier device with three plug contacts (21, 22, 23) instead of resistance transmitters 3 and 4 (FIG. 1) at 64 ', 65', 66 '.
A capacitive pre-adjustment of the input and output bridges is achieved by symmetrically arranged windings 10a, 10b and 14a, 14b of the input and output transformers. H. the capacitive balance of the bridges should not be disturbed by additional capacities of the transformers. The potentiometer 12 serves as a sensitivity regulator for the amplifier; it can be combined with the battery switch 18 to form a device 12 '(FIG. 8).
There are 24 and 25 two inductive transmitters with inductance that can be changed by changing the air gap or shifting the core, which are attached to the components to be measured. The bridge is capacitively balanced with the capacitor 13 and the potentiometer 26.
Fig. 3 shows an output bridge as a further accessory for measuring with inductive encoders. A changeover switch 27 is used to switch the ring demodulator to the two positions Aligning (left) or measuring (right). The latter is shown in FIG. 3. In the left position of the switch, the four blocking cells form a Grätz circuit, whereby the phase adjustment of the bridge can be made visible separately from the ohmic adjustment.
During the measurement process (switch 27 in the position shown in FIG. 3), an auxiliary voltage from the generator 8 (FIG. 1) is applied to the output bridge IV via the closed contact 27 ″ ', whereby a phase-dependent rectification takes place. During the phase adjustment process (switch 27 shifted to the left) the auxiliary voltage is switched off via contact 27 "'(shown in dashed lines).
4 shows a resistance element for balancing the input bridge 1, 2, 3, 4 in FIG. 1. The resistance strips 1 and 2 are attached to the top and bottom of a steel spring 28. This is connected to a further steel spring 29 at its ends.
In a nut 30 fastened to the chassis 32 of the device by means of screws 95, an adjusting screw 31 is screwed, which can be brought into contact with the steel spring 28 with a ball 31 ′. The steel spring 29 is attached to the nut 30.
When the screws 31 are turned, the two springs 28 and 29 are more heavily loaded or relieved of bending, depending on the direction of rotation of the screw.
In both cases, the resistance values of the measuring strips are changed in opposite directions.
This results in a change in each bridge element in the bridge half 1, 2 by the same but opposite amount.
A further pair of strips 1 a, 2 a with a resistance value different from 1, 2 can be attached to the spring 28. The resistors 1a, 2a can be used instead of 1, 2 for a second measuring range.
4 a shows a switchboard 92 which is fastened to the web 93 by means of a screw 94. The switchboard has output contacts (soldering points) 1 ', 0, 2', which are shown schematically in the drawing. 1 and 2 are the resistance sensors shown schematically, which are glued on both sides of the leaf spring 28 and connected to the terminals 1 ', 0, 2' in the manner shown.
In a special embodiment, the springs are designed with different strengths, in particular spring 29 weaker than spring 28. This makes it possible to deform the spring 28 with the same rotational path of the screw 31 less, which corresponds to a refinement of the bridge adjustment. The construction is thereby largely independent of the fineness of the thread pitch of the screw 31.
The described resistance elements therefore enable a contactless and stepless fine adjustment of the input bridge.
5 shows the accommodation of the battery 19 (FIG. 1) in a plastic glass housing 33. The two dry cells 34 and 35 are inserted in the opposite position in the two chambers 33 ′ and 33 ″ and are conductively connected to one another by a resilient contact clip 36. The bracket 36 is connected to a further bracket 37 which is inserted into a pocket 38 of the cover 39. The cover 39 can be fastened in the housing 33 by a pin 40.
The cells 34 and 35 rest on contact plates 41 which are each connected to a pin 42. The pins emerge through bores in the housing 33 to the outside. The housing 33 with cells 34, 35 can now be inserted resiliently between the wall 43 of the amplifier housing and the two contact plates 44 and 45 of assembly III.
The voltage of the battery can be changed by changing the cells in the housing 33. This makes it possible to easily change the control of the transistor amplifier and thus the sensitivity of the entire device.
6 is a schematic external view of the amplifier with the test device. The motor-generator unit 8 for generating the carrier frequency voltage is connected to the circuit of the test device via a two-pin socket 50 on the housing 51.
A switch 52 is used to test the function of the amplifier. The switch has the positions zero - (motor generator) plus and minus>) and is connected to the milliammeter 53. The individual contact points of the switch 52 are connected to output sockets of the socket 54. The step switch 59 is used to test the linearity of the amplifier. It is 58 a loading plate which is fastened to a spiral spring clamped in the test device and provided with resistance strips and is set up to accommodate calibrated weights.
A multiple plug contact 54, 54 ′ connects the test device to the amplifier. The on-switch with sensitivity regulator 12, 18 is attached to the amplifier housing 63. The measuring range switch Sa is used to connect graduated resistors in parallel to the resistance strips of the input bridge. At the same time and automatically with the switch 5a, the voltage divider 5 is adjusted, which changes the carrier frequency voltage at the terminals 0, 66 'depending on the switched-on resistor 6 by connecting resistors 7 upstream. The parallel circuit 0, 9, 5a, 6, 1 'can be closed by pressing key 9 for the purpose of recording the force scale.
The input bridge is adjusted by turning the adjusting disk 31.
7 shows a circuit diagram of the test device.
It is the 50 input connector for the carrier frequency voltage. The number 51 indicates the housing of the test device. 52 'and 52 "are the two contact arms of the switch for the functional test. The ammeter is denoted by 53. The individual line outputs are led to the sockets of the multiple plug 54. A rectifier 55 is connected upstream of the MG terminals of the switch 52. The battery terminals are connected via a series resistor 56 to the sockets 5 and 6 of the socket 54. If the series resistor 56 z.
B. has a value of 700 ohms, flows through the milliammeter 53 at full battery voltage of 3 volts, a current of 4.3 milliamperes.
A spiral spring 57 is clamped on the housing base and carries two resistance strips 3 'and 4', the resistance values of which can be changed by bending the spring 57 by means of weights placed on a plate 58. The common end point of the strips 3 'and 4' is at the output socket 54/9; the free ends are connected to the sockets 54/1 and 54/2.
A step switch 59 is used to check the linearity of the amplification. It consists of a contact arm 59 'with two contact segments 60 and 61, the contacts I' to V 'and I "to V" connected to series resistors 62/1 to 62/5 and the both zero contacts. The segment 60 is connected to the free end of the measuring strip 3 ', the segment 61 to the free end of the measuring strip 4'. The series resistors 62/1 to 62/5 are connected on the one hand to the two measuring strips 3 'and 4' and on the other hand to the sliding contacts I to V. The contacts I'to V 'are connected to the corresponding contacts I "to V".
The series resistors are dimensioned in such a way that they detune the input bridge of the amplifier in equal steps. Making contact with two separate segments 60 and 61 enables the two branches of the input bridge to be checked separately for symmetry.
To test the function of the amplifier, the amplifier and the test device are connected by means of the plug contacts 54, 54 ′ and the connector of the motor generator unit 8 is connected to the socket 50. For the purpose of the functional test, the individual plugs 54 '/ 1 to 54' / 10 are connected to the parts of the amplifier to be tested in such a way that the Pssf measurement strips 3 'and 4' form the input bridge with the calibration measurement strips 1 and 2 and the Replace the measuring strips 3 and 4 (Fig. 1, dashed) used for the later measurement.
The carrier frequency voltage is applied to the test device at 50 (Fig. 6, 7), via the rectifier 55 on the one hand to the MG terminals of the switch 52 and on the other hand via the plug connections 54/7, 54 '/ 7 and 54/8, 54' / 8 and the voltage divider 5 (FIG. 1) are fed to the two feed points at the input bridge 1, 2 and at the output bridge 16.
The terminals of the battery 19 are connected to ground and to the plug 54 '/ 10. The still free contact of the switch 18 is on the plug 541/5. The socket 54 of the test device or the plug connection of the measuring cable 108 shown in FIG. 10 contains a line 63 which connects the battery 19 to the switch 18 when the plug connection 54, 54 ′ is made. The battery is switched on by actuating the common switch and sensitivity regulator 12 '. When the plug connection is loosened, the battery is switched off automatically.
The output terminals 17/1 and 17/2 of the amplifier are located on the plug contacts 3 and 4 on the plus terminals and interchanged on the minus terminals of the switch 52 ', 52 ".
8 schematically shows a combined device 12 ′, consisting of a battery switch 18 and the potentiometer 12. The contact arm 67, which is made of conductive material, is connected to the contact arm 18 in a rotationally fixed manner. The two arms 67 and 18 are isolated from one another. The arm 67 slides on the potentiometer wire 12 ″, the arm 18 on the contact segment 68. In the solid position of the arms 67 and 18, the transistor 11 ″ is connected to the line 70, arm 67, wire 12 ″, line 69, resistor 69 ″. , Arm 18, segment 68 on the negative terminal of the battery. The amplifier is now live. Most of the resistor 12 "(line 69 ', resistor 12", arm 67, line 70, capacitor 82) is located between the transistors 11' and 11 ".
The amplifier is set to the lowest sensitivity. By turning the control arm 67, 18 clockwise, the resistor 12 ″ is switched off and the amplifier is thus set to greater sensitivity.
By turning the control arm 67, 18 from the extended position counterclockwise into the left end position, the negative line to the transistor 11 ″ is interrupted and the amplifier is disconnected from the battery.
9 shows the section through a measuring hub, which consists of two sides 100, 101 and 102, 103, which partially lie one inside the other and are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner by wedges 104. The measuring strips 3 and 4 (see also FIG. 1) are glued onto the cylinder 101 in a crossed arrangement. The ends 3 'and 4' are connected to one another by a wire 66 '. Another wire 66 is connected to 66 ′, penetrates the cylinder 101 in a bore 117 and is guided to the slip ring 112.
The other two ends 64 'and 65' are connected to slip rings 113 and 114 by wires 64 "and 65". The wires 64 ″ and 65 ″ penetrate the cylinder 101 in bores 115 and 116.
For the measurement, the measuring hub is connected to the component to be measured, e.g. B. the cardan shaft of a motor vehicle, so that the torque Md to be transmitted by the cardan shaft in the measuring hub causes a rotation of the cylinder 101, which is measured by the strips 3 and 4. By rotating the cylinder 101 in the direction of the arrow, the wires of the strip 3 are lengthened and the wires of the strip 4 are shortened. The electrical resistance in the strip 3 is thus increased, that of the strip 4 is decreased. The corresponding strands in the strips are passed to the amplifier 43 via the slip rings with current collectors 112, 113, 114 (see FIG. 10) and the cable 107.
FIG. 11 shows a further form of application of measuring sensors 3 ″ and 4 ″, which correspond to measuring sensors 3 and 4 in the input bridge shown in FIG. It is 120 a test specimen clamped at 121 and subjected to bending stress by a moment P-1. A measuring sensor 3 "is attached to its pulling side and a measuring sensor 4" is attached to the pressure side. The transducers are connected to one another by a line 123 and to a soldering point 66 "'on the circuit board 122.
The free ends of the two transducers are connected with solder points 64 "'and 65"'. The three soldering points are connected to the connection points 1 ', 2' and 66 'of the amplifier 43 (FIG. 1) by lines not shown.
How the circuit works
The generator voltage Ug of 1500 Hz applied to terminals 0 and 66 of the input bridge does not cause any voltage change at terminals 1 'and 2' when the bridge is balanced.
With ohmic adjustment is
R3: Ri: R2, correspondingly with capacitive adjustment If the bridge is detuned in one direction (e.g.
Bridge resistance 3 becomes smaller, 4 larger) an alternating voltage UA with the same phase and frequency as the generator voltage occurs at terminals 1 'and 2'. If the bridge is detuned in the opposite direction (resistance 4 becomes smaller, 3 becomes larger), an alternating voltage of the same frequency as the generator voltage occurs, which is phase shifted by 1800. By suitably winding the transformers 10 and 14, capacitive detuning of the input and output bridges is avoided. The AC voltage UBE at the input bridge is in amplifier III (Fig. 1)! reinforced.
If the load on the test body changes, the AC voltage at the input bridge is modulated in time with the change in load and positively and negatively rectified in the demodulator IV (FIG. 1). The auxiliary voltage U, which is applied to the symmetrical winding 14a / 14b and to the resistors 16/16 ', serves as the reference frequency. The bridge voltage UBE, phase-shifted by 180 in the case of negative load signals, reverses the pulsating direct current into the negative range.
This makes oppositely directed loads on the test body visible at the output of the demodulator in a measuring device (galvanometer or cathode oscilloscope) after the auxiliary frequency has been filtered out in filter V.
The areas of the voltage-time curve of the positive and negative rectified voltage are proportional to the peak values displayed. If there is a phase shift between the input voltage UBE and the auxiliary voltage UG, the peak display also becomes smaller. If the phase shift is 90, the display on the galvanometer is 0. A measuring voltage that is out of phase with the generator voltage cannot be made visible by the demodulator.
The device according to FIG. 3 is used to make a capacitive detuning of the input bridge visible, after any other detuning has been eliminated. The auxiliary voltage Ug is switched off in the dashed position of the switch 27 (contact 27 "'is open). The alternating voltage that occurs as a result of capacitive detuning at the input bridge (terminals 1' and 66Q is amplified and through the diodes 15 'forming a Grätz circuit 15 "" is converted into a direct current level which is displayed in the galvanometer. The input bridge is then balanced until the galvanometer no longer displays any current.
The measurement can begin after the switch 27 has been brought into the position shown in FIG.
Function test and calibration of the amplifier
The functional test of the amplifier is carried out as follows: the test device and amplifier are plugged together and the motor generator is connected at 50 (FIG. 6). Then the amplifier is switched on at the switch 12, 18. At the switch 52 are on the positions Batt. and MGo checked the battery late, voltage and the generator voltage. The display ranges for the permissible values are noted on the scale of the device 53. Then the minus or Plus position switched. The display device is now connected to the amplifier output. The minus or
The plus position is selected depending on the polarity at the amplifier output. The measuring range switch 5, 5a has the following effect: at a certain resistance 6, the bridge 1, 2, 3 ', 4' previously adjusted to zero is detuned; H. a potential difference arises between points 1 'and 2' which is greater the smaller the resistance 6. The input bridge 1, 2, 3 ', 4' of the amplifier is now adjusted by turning the screw 31 (Fig. 4) until the ammeter 53 shows zero. The switch 5, 5a is now set to position 1. Likewise, the regulator arm 67 is set to the lowest sensitivity.
The amplifier has its greatest sensitivity when the control arm 67 is at the collector of the input transistor. This is the case when the contact arm 67 assumes its horizontal position (FIG. 8).
Then the step switch 59 is set to step III 'or IV' and after pressing button 9, the control arm 67 is adjusted until the ammeter shows a certain deflection, e.g. B. 10 mA. Then the deflections in the other positions of the switch 59 must result in linearly increasing display values. This guarantees a straight amplifier characteristic.
The step switch switches a certain resistance value in each step parallel to one of the strain gauges 3 'or. 4 '. The resistances are dimensioned in such a way that they correspond to a steady increase in load (elongation in PromiZen), e.g. B. so that a level 0, 1 corresponds to loo elongation. The displays of the device in the five levels then correspond to the values: 0, 1-0, 2-0, 3-0, 4-0, 50/00. With this setting, the scale values in the other stages of the voltage divider 5, 5a can now be determined, which are corresponding multiples of the value 0.1 / oo.
The step switch 59 in the test device determines the sample values of the individual measuring range steps of the amplifier in accordance with the individual positions of the switch 5, 52.
The resistors 6 are calibrated in 0/00 expansion or in kg, mkg, etc., so that the expansion or force scale of the amplifier can be determined by means of the sampling value in millimeters oscilloscope deflection. The calibration of the sample value is carried out for various sensitivity values of the amplifier. The sensitivity is set on the controller 12.
By placing calibrated weights on the plate 58, the calibration in / 00 expansion can also be carried out by mechanically detuning the input bridge as a result of loading the spring 57.
This enables the comparative electrical load to be checked by the series resistors 62/1 to 62/5 with the help of the applied weights. Each weight can, for example, be calibrated in 0.05 0/00 stretch. When 1 to 5 individual weights are placed one after the other, the display device must show evenly increasing deflections.
Measurement
It is now assumed that, for example, the torque is to be measured on the cardan shaft of a motor vehicle. A torque measuring hub of the type shown in FIG. 9 is used for this purpose. During the measurement, the measuring point, e.g. B. the measuring hub according to FIG. 9 is connected. For this purpose, the multiple plug connection 54, 54 'and thus the test device 51 are first separated from the amplifier 43 (FIG. 6). The plug contact 50 is released and the motor generator unit 8 is connected to the plug connection 54 ′ by means of a cable 108 and a socket (FIG. 10). The measuring hub 100, 101 is connected to the plug connection 54 ′ by means of a cable 107 and a plug contact.
The oscilloscope 109 is connected to points 17/1 and 17/2 (Fig. 1). To determine the strain gauge or force measuring stick, a specific resistor 6 is selected on switches 5, 5a. While the button 9 is depressed, the sensitivity potentiometer 12 'is adjusted until the scanning value, if possible, takes up the completely available width b in millimeters of a paper strip (on which the oscillator is writing). The force scale is determined with this sample value adjusted in this way (b mm corresponds to x mkg, 1 mm corresponds to b mkg, where x is the calibration value of the resistor 6).
The amplifier is now set to the measuring range x mkg, i.e. H. torques on the measuring object up to a height of x mkg and smaller can be measured.
If a smaller resistor 6 is connected in parallel to the bridge arm 1, the oscilloscope deflection is larger. This means that the display will extend beyond the width of the paper. Therefore, the sensitivity of the amplifier must now be regulated down with the potentiometer 12 'until the oscilloscope deflection occurs again within the width of the paper. The result is the new force standard 1 mm = bl mkg. The new measuring range is then Ci xi mkg.
At the same time as the resistor 6, the carrier frequency voltage is also regulated with the switch 5 in such a way that the carrier frequency voltage (feed of the bridge at points 0 and 66 ') is low in the case of large detunings (caused by large changes in resistance in measuring strips 3 and 4) , and is high for small upsets.
The changes in resistance in strips 3 and 4 are a measure of the torsional stresses of the cylinder 101 and the stress on the component to be measured. The changes in resistance cause a disturbance of the equilibrium of the electrical bridge 1, 2, 3, 4, which was adjusted to zero before the start of the measurement. As a result of the changes in resistance described, currents flow in the winding 10a, 10b, which are amplified in the amplifier 43 and recorded in the oscilloscope.
In order not to overload the oscilloscope when the measuring system is put into operation, the zero adjustment can be carried out (by means of adjusting screw 31) with a milliammeter 110, which is connected at 17 instead of the oscilloscope 109. After the zero adjustment has been carried out, the oscilloscope is connected at 17 instead of the ammeter.
If no milliammeter is available, the zero adjustment can also be carried out with the milliammeter in the test device. A two-core cable 111 (Fig. I Ob) with two plug contacts is used for this purpose: plug and socket at both ends.
The two plugs are connected to the socket connections 54/3 and 54/4 of the test device 51 with the plug 17.
After performing the zero adjustment, the oscilloscope 109 is connected to the amplifier housing 43 instead of the test device 51. The sensing value can thus be determined in the manner described above by setting the measuring range switch 5, 5a, pressing the key 9 and regulating the deflection on the sensitivity switch 12 '. The display of the measuring strip on the oscillogram can be evaluated from the sample value, which was previously calibrated in zoo expansion using the test device (Fig. 7).
The device described is particularly suitable for series measurements in vehicles and airplanes and is particularly distinguished by its handiness, simple operation and power supply, large amplification and easy calibration capability.
The use of an amplifier with miniature amplifier elements, in particular with transistors, results in a measuring device with the smallest dimensions and a simple power supply from a stick battery.
The low carrier frequency, for example 1500 Hz, makes it possible to record static or dynamic processes in the range up to 300 Hz occurring in vehicles with the same amplitude and phase. Strain gauges or inductive coil sensors are used as measuring sensors.
The advantage of the low carrier frequency is particularly evident in the simple way of balancing the input bridge, which can be carried out on the bridge elements located in the amplifier housing. Capacitive influences of the cable length to the encoder are not significant.
The amplifier, which works with transistors, has a low input resistance and is therefore particularly characterized by its good adaptation to the measuring transducer and the suitable design of the output bridge for the measuring loops. The level of the amplifier can be changed by changing the battery voltage. This is not possible with tube amplifiers.
