Photoelectric exposure meter or controller for photographic or cinematographic cameras The subject of the main patent is a photoelectric exposure meter or controller for photographic or cinematographic recording camera with a moving-coil measuring mechanism, the pointer deflection of which can be influenced by pivoting the counter bearings of the directional springs around the axis of the moving coil, and where the measuring mechanism is a core magnet system and there is a setting mark fixed to the housing,
the whole thing in such a way that when the pointer of the measuring mechanism is set to the setting mark, the measuring mechanism coil is in the area of the maximum induction of the air gap.
According to the main patent, the exposure meter or controller does not work with setting to a certain fixed value of the photocurrent by influencing the same with resistors or diaphragms, but with a constant working point in the air gap of the measuring mechanism, so that the course of the scale characteristics has no meaning for the Measurement is.
The mode of operation of the exposure meter or regulator according to the main patent is characterized by the fact that the coil is always adjusted to the same position in the air gap by aligning the pointer in the entire measuring range with a setting mark fixed to the housing at the point of maximum induction . For this purpose, the alignment springs of the measuring mechanism are connected to one another by a bracket and can therefore be adjusted together.
The required pivoting movement of this bracket adjusts the exposure-influencing setting elements for aperture, shutter time, film sensitivity, etc., for example via a differential gear. Any adaptation to different characteristics of photo elements that may become necessary can be achieved by interposing a special correction curve or a cover screen for photo elements. The exposure meter or -regier according to the claim of the main patent works semi-automatically, since the cover of the pointer must be brought about by hand with the aforementioned setting marks fixed to the housing.
The object of the present invention is to allow this semi-automatic mode of operation to be fully automatic. The essence of the prior invention is explained in detail in one of the execution examples of the main patent for a cinematographic recording camera.
In the exemplary embodiment, the lens aperture setting 1, the frame rate setting 2 and the setting 3 to take into account the film sensitivity are coupled to a cam 8 via a differential gear, which is known in its effect and consists of the gears 4, 5, 6 and 7. This acts on a pin which is attached to a bracket 10. The bracket 10, which connects the straightening springs 13 of the measuring mechanism coil 14, has lugs 12 on which the straightening springs are mounted.
In the drawing voltage only the front directional spring 13 and the front of particular approach 12 is visible, since the rear spring and the rear approach are covered by the measuring mechanism.
A spring 16 is mounted on a bolt 15 fastened to the measuring mechanism 11 and is supported on the pins 17 and 18 arranged on the measuring mechanism or on the bracket 10. Through this spring, the bracket 10 or the pin 9 attached to it is pressed against the cam 8 disc.
19 is the photo element and 20 denotes a resistor in series therewith. T he measuring tool pointer 21, which in the main patent has to be brought into line with a mark 22 fixed to the housing and which was limited in its deflection visible in the viewfinder of the camera by the stops 23 and 24, is replaced by a contact tongue 21a, which between Attacks 23a and 24a can swing back and forth.
At each of the two stops 23a and 24a there is one pole of a battery 25, the center 26 of which is guided to a drive or control motor 27 that is small. The other lead 28 for the motor 27 is represented by the contact tongue 21a, which can rest either on the positive or negative pole via stop 24a or 23a.
Depending on this, the control motor is switched on in left or right rotation. The control motor itself drives a pinion 29, which lies between the aperture setting member 1 and the differential 4, 5, 6, 7.
When the motor is running, the set aperture value is changed on scale 1 depending on the preset frame rate and film sensitivity.
The mode of operation of the arrangement described is as follows: Frame rate and film sensitivity are set before the measurement by means of members 2 and 3 and act via the differential gear on the cam 8, which thus receives the corresponding Grundein position. A special setting of the lens aperture ring 1 to cover the setting of the measuring mechanism 11 with the stops 23a and 24a fixed to the housing is no longer required, since this is set automatically by the control motor.
Whether or not the aperture ring still shows the aperture value is irrelevant. The .eine pole of the motor is via the con tact tongue 21a once on the positive and once on the negative pole of the battery 25, which optionally consists of photo elements arranged on the housing.
As a result, the motor rotates one time to the left and another time to the right, thus setting the aperture scale 1 to a higher or lower value. The bracket 10 is pivoted via the differential 4, 5, 6, 7 and the cam disc 8, and with it the directional springs 13 and thus in turn the position of the measuring mechanism coil 14.
The increase in curve 8 takes account of the characteristics of the respective photo element 19. As already stated, the adaptation to the special characteristics of a photo element can also be done in such a way that curve 8 only acts on a cover panel for the photo element, while the bracket adjustment for the directional springs is positive and unchangeable from curve 8 off takes place. The cover panel must always be kept in contact with curve 8 by spring pressure.
The area of the photo element is covered in each case as much as is necessary to achieve a photocurrent proportional to the angle of rotation of the bracket.
Instead of the differential gear for summarizing the exposure factors, aperture and exposure time, a coupling drive or the same can be used.
The arrangement described enables the camera to be set fully automatically with very little effort.
