Figs. 16 to 18 represent another variant of a constructive detail, fig. 16 being a longitudinal elevational view, FIG. 17, a plan view of FIG. 16 and fig. 18, a cross section, taken along the line XV111-XVIII of fig. 16.
Figs. 19 and 20 represent a variant of the second embodiment of the head of the tool illustrated in FIGS. 14 and 15, fig. 19 being a sectional view, along the line XIX-XIX of FIG. 20, and fig. 20, a plan view of FIG. 19.
The rock perforation tool, in the first embodiment shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, comprises a head 1, of circular shape, provided with a groove 2 oriented along a diameter of said head, said groove being intended for the attachment of a snuff 3 constituted by a blade.
The mouchette 3 (fig. 4 to 7) has a cutting edge 4 convex and symmetrically inclined from the axis of the chisel towards the two ends 5 </ B> and 6 of the fly, the end 5 having a section larger than the end 6. Each side of the fly 3 converges from the face of the end 5 to that of the end 6 with respect to the axial plane. These sides are made up of two superposed parts, one of which, the lower part 7, is perpendicular to the horizontal base 8, or heel, the fly and the other, the upper part 9, is inclined from part 7 towards the face 10 for mant the sharp edge 4.
The side walls and the bottom of the groove 2 of the head 1 are shaped in the same way as described for the flanks and the heel of the gull, so that the fly is stuck in its housing by means of the double convergence, horizontal and vertical, the nose 3 and the groove 2.
Each of the sides of the mouchette also has, in its central part, a groove 11 (fig. 7) starting from the heel 8 for end at the outer surface of the lower part 7 making up the side of the fly. These grooves 11 communicate to their lower part with a central recess 12 which bi furque to its upper part forming two conduits 13 verticals opening out respectively to the upper surface of the head, on each side of the fly 3. The recess and the channels are intended for the passage of a fluid, for example air, water or other liquid, for cooling the fly and removing the drill cuttings.
The use of two bypass channels has the advantage that, in the event that one of the channels becomes blocked, the fluid can escape through the other channel.
The mouchette, in a second variant shown in Figs. 8 and 9, comprises a right flank 14, perpendicular to the base 15 of the fly, and a flank 16, inclined from the heel 15 to its intersection with the surface forming the cutting edge 17. This speck also presents a single longitudinal convergence produced by the orientation of the inclined flank 16, the right flank 14 being parallel to the longitudinal axis of the fly.
In another variant shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the fly is provided with two sides 18 inclined respectively from the base 19 to their intersection with the surface forming the sharp edge 20 of the fly. This fly also exhibits a longitudinal convergence of its two 18. sides
The mouchette, in yet another variant shown in FIGS. 12 and 13, is provided with two straight flanks 21 converging in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the fly, said axis as well as the cutting edge 22 being located in the plane of symmetry of the mouchette.
In these variants, the mouchette could be provided with grooves 11 in the central part of its flanks, the head of the tool having, on the one hand, a groove whose the walls are shaped to be adapted to the sides and to the heel of the corresponding fly, said groove of which serves as a housing and, on the other hand, by a central channel with bifurcation branches for the insufflation of fluid, as - written above.
The head of the tool l ', in the second embodiment shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, is similar in shape to the head 1 of the tool according to the first embodiment. The head l ' is provided with a groove 23, oriented along a diameter of said head, said groove housing a speck 24 which is driven from top to bottom, in referring to in fig. 14.
A this effect, the mouchette 24 (fig. 16 to 18) has flanks 25 converging towards the base of the mouchette, said flanks, parallel to the sharp edge 26, being inclined respectively from their intersection with the respective surfaces forming said cutting edge to the heel 27 </ B > seagull.
The side walls 28 of the groove 23, shaped to the inclination of the sides 25 of the mouchette, are extended downward beyond the heel 27 to the bottom wall 29 of said groove, a strip 30 of metal malleable, for example of aluminum, copper or the like, being interposed between the heel 27 and the wall 29, said strip being intended for </ B > serve as an elastic support for the gull and to fill any gaps formed between the respective walls of the fly and the groove when the mouchette is embedded in its housing.
In this embodiment, the Y head is seen as a central recess 31 and two bypass 32 channels, each of said canals opening out at the periphery 33 of the head.
In a variant of this embodiment, shown in FIGS. 19 and 20, the head 1 " of the tool is provided with a groove, the side walls 34 of which are placed at a spacing a little larger than that of the respective 25 sides of the mouchette 24 described above, the space between the heel 27 of the mouchette and the bottom 35 of the groove being thicker than that in which the strip 30 of malleable metal is interposed (fig. 14).
In the small space between the side walls of the groove and the respective sides of the fly and in the larger space between the base of the gull and the bottom of the groove is placed a 30 ' strip of malleable metal, intended to form an elastic cuff- sinet under the heel of the fly and to </ B> tighten said mouchette laterally in its housing due to the convergence of its sides.
It is evident that the cutting edge of the gull, in the embodiments described, could be rectilinear and that the central recess of the head of the tool for the passage of the fluid d The drain could have only one bypass channel.
We could also remove the grooves 11 made in the sides of the fly and put in the head one or more bypass channels, similar to the 32 channels shown in fig. 14.
Instead of forming a single piece with the shank of the tool, the head thereof, shown in fig. 1, 3, 14 and 19, could be removable and fixed, for example by fitting, on a rod.
The speckles described have the advantage of being introduced into their respective grooves by driving them with hammer blows and of being clamped in their housing only by the arrangement of their flanks which have a longitudinal convergence. and vertical, or only one of these convergences, without the need for soldering.
