Im ersten Falle stehen die Planetenrad träger 16 und 22 still, und das übersetzungsverhält- nis ist gleich wie beim oben beschriebenen Ausfüh rungsbeispiel unter der zuerst gemachten Annahme. Im zweiten Fall laufen die Planetenradträger 16 und 22 nahezu ungehindert im Sinne des Pfeiles 35 und entgegen dem Sinn des Pfeiles 36 um, so dass die Drehzahl der Welle 11 und des im Sinne des Pfeiles 37 umlaufenden Planetenradträgers 29 gegenüber dem ersten Fall vermindert und die der Welle 17 erhöht und somit, wie oben dargelegt, diejenige der Abtriebs welle 24 der Getriebeanlage vermindert ist;
Transmission system with continuously variable transmission ratio The subject of the invention is a transmission system with continuously variable transmission ratio, with a rotatable element, the speed of which influences the transmission ratio of the system and can be changed arbitrarily.
Known transmission systems of this type consist, for example, of a planetary gear with a drive shaft, an output shaft and a rotatable reaction member, for. B. a planet carrier or an internally toothed ring gear,
which is affected by a reaction torque resulting from the difference between the torques acting on the input and output shafts and which, depending on the respective transmission ratio, runs in the sense of this reaction torque or against it and only comes to a standstill at a certain transmission ratio.
With all other transmission ratios, this reaction element emits work depending on the transmission ratio, which is converted into heat, for example by means of a brake, and dissipated as such, or it takes up work that has to be performed by a special motor. The change in the transmission ratio of the transmission system then takes place in that the ratio of the speed of the reaction element to that of the drive shaft is changed by influencing the brake or the motor.
The work dissipated as heat by the brake cannot usually be made usable and is then lost. On the other hand, although the work done by the motor is available on the output shaft of the gear system and can therefore be used, the system is made considerably more expensive by the motor, especially when the transmission ratio of the gear system is highly variable for an output that is higher than that achieved by the The power transmitted to the drive shaft of the transmission system can be considerable,
must be measured and, moreover, it must be operable at a highly variable speed. There are hardly any motors that meet these requirements with small dimensions and good efficiency; If they were available, gear systems with continuously variable transmission ratios would usually be superfluous anyway.
The aim of the invention is to create a transmission system in which the torque acting on the said organ, which can be rotated at an arbitrarily variable speed, and thus the power delivered or consumed by this organ can be small, so that this power and the energy losses in the brake or in the motor are small and the brake or the motor can be made small, light and cheap.
For this purpose, the present transmission system is characterized in that it comprises three epicyclic gears each with a drive shaft, an output shaft and a rotatable reaction element as well as an entry gear through which the drive shafts of two of the three epicyclic gears mentioned are connected to the drive shaft of the The system is driven so that the rotatable reaction elements of these two gears are coupled to one another in such a way that that of one gear must rotate in the same way as the output shaft of this gear,
when that of the other gear rotates opposite to the output shaft of this other gear or vice versa, and that the drive shaft of the third epicyclic gear is driven by the output shaft of one and the reaction element of this third epicyclic gear is driven by the output shaft of the other of the first two epicyclic gears becomes,
wherein the output shaft of this third epicyclic gear unit forms the output shaft of the transmission system and means are provided to change the speed of the coupled reaction elements of the first two epicyclic gears mentioned.
The design of the transmission system can be such that the two reaction organs of the two first-mentioned epicyclic gears run in the same sense, so that the reaction torque acting on one reaction organ in the direction of rotation, the reaction torque acting on the other reaction organ against the same direction of rotation of these two Re action organs is directed, so d'ass the reaction moments counteract each other. These two order impeller gears can in particular be formed in such a way and their reaction organs mentioned can be coupled to one another in such a way that these reaction torques cancel one another.
The drawing shows schematically an embodiment of the transmission system according to the invention.
On the drive shaft 1 of the illustrated Ge transmission system sits a gear 2, which on the one hand meshes with a gear 4 seated on a shaft 3, on the other hand with an intermediate gear 5 that is freely rotatable bar. This intermediate gear 5 in turn meshes with a gear 6, the diameter of which is the same as that of the gear 4 and which sits on a shaft 7. If the drive shaft 1 rotates in the direction of arrow 8, it drives the shaft 3 in the direction of rotation indicated by the arrow 9 and the shaft 7 in the opposite direction of rotation 10 via the described entry gear, at the same speed.
The shafts 3 and 7 are the drive shafts of one of two identical Unilaufradgetriebe, the first of which is an output shaft 11 coaxial with the drive shaft 3, a central gear 12 sitting on the drive shaft 3, a central gear 13 sitting on the output shaft 11 and a pair of planetary gears 14 and 15 has. These two planet gears are rotatably mounted on a bearing on the output shaft 11, serving as a reaction element planet carrier 16 and connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner.
The planet gear 14 meshes with the central gear 12, the planet gear 15 with the central gear 13.
In the same way, the second epicyclic gearing comprises an output shaft 17 coaxial with the drive shaft 7, a central wheel 18 with the same number of teeth as the wheel 12 on the drive shaft 7, a central wheel 19 with the same number of teeth as the wheel 13 on the output shaft 17 and two non-rotatably with one another connected planet gears 20 and 21, which are mounted on a acting as a reaction organ planet wheel carrier 22 and have the same number of teeth as the planet gears 14 and 15 of the first gear.
The planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 of these two epicyclic gears are coupled to one another by a coupling rod 23, which engages on the one hand between the planet gears 14 and 15 and on the other hand between the planet gears 20 and 21 on the outside of a hollow shaft that connects these planet gears with each other in a rotationally fixed manner, so that they must rotate around the axes of the associated output shafts 11 and 17 in the same sense and at the same speed.
The transmission system shown comprises a third epicyclic gear, the drive shaft of which is formed and driven by the output shaft 17 of the second epicyclic gear. The output shaft 24 of this third epicyclic gear is coaxial with its drive shaft 17 and forms the drive shaft from the entire transmission system.
This third planetary gear train also has a central gear 25 seated on its drive shaft 17, a central gear 26 seated on the output shaft 24, and two planetary gears 27 and 28 which are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner and which are mounted on a planetary gear carrier 29. The planet gear 27 meshes with the central gear 25, the planet gear 28 with the central gear 26. The planet gear carrier 29 is firmly connected to a gear 30 mounted on the shaft 17, which meshes with a gear 31 seated on the output shaft 11 of the first epicyclic gear.
This planet carrier 29 can be addressed as a reaction member of the third epicyclic gearing who the when the shaft 17 is considered as the drive shaft.
The transmission system shown also includes an electric motor 32 with an arbitrarily adjustable speed, which allows the planetary gear carrier 22 to be driven by means of a drive belt 33.
The transmission system described works as follows: As already explained, the drive shaft 3 of the first epicyclic gear 11-16 rotates in the direction of arrow 9 and the drive shaft 10 of the second epicyclic gear 17-22 at the same speed in the direction of arrow 10 when the Drive shaft 1 is driven in the direction of arrow 8. It is initially assumed that the two planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 coupled to one another by the rod 23 are stationary.
The output shafts 11 of the first and 17 of the second epicyclic gearing then rotate, since both gears are designed the same, at the same speed, namely the shaft 11 in the direction of the arrow 35, the shaft 17 in the direction of the arrow 36. On the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 each have a reaction torque that is equal to the difference between the drive torque acting on the drive shaft 3 or 7 in their direction of rotation and the output torque counteracting the rotation of the output shaft 11 or 17, and which is the same as the larger one these two torques.
In any case, these two reaction moments are opposite to each other. In the present example, in which the number of teeth of the wheels 12 and 18 is greater than that of the wheels 14 and 20 and the number of teeth of the wheels 15 and 21 greater than that of the wheels 13 and 19, the drive torque is greater than the output torque, so that the acting on the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 reac tion moments in the sense of arrows 35 and 36 are gerich tet.
These two reaction torques counteract each other via the coupling rod 23, which connects the two planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 with one another, so that these planetary gear carriers are in equilibrium and do not try to turn in one sense or the other.
The shaft 11 drives via the gears 31 and 30 the planet carrier 29 of the third epicyclic gear 24-29 in the direction of arrow 37 and the shaft 17 the central gear 25 of this gear seated on it in the same direction of rotation.
The number of teeth of the gears 30 and 31 and the gears 25-28 of the third epicyclic gear are selected so that as a result of this drive of the central wheel 25 and the planetary gear carrier 29 at the same speed of the shafts 11 and 17, the output shaft 24 rotates in the direction of arrow 38, and that, in addition, the torque transmitted by the shaft 17 is the same as the reaction torque transmitted by the shaft 11 and thus also the reaction torque acting on the planetary gear carrier 22 to the oppositely directed reaction torque acting on the planetary gear carrier 16.
So that this is the case, the number of teeth Z25 of gear 25, Z26 of wheel 26, Z27 of wheel 27, Z28 of wheel 28, Z30 of wheel 30 and Z31 of wheel 31 meet the condition:
EMI0003.0010
If this condition is met, the two planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 coupled to one another are in indifferent equilibrium, regardless of the magnitude of the torque with which the drive shaft 1 of the transmission system is driven and the torque that the rotation the output shaft 24 of the transmission system counteracts ent.
This indifferent balance remains even if the planet carriers 16 and 22 do not stand still, but rotate in the same sense and at the same speed. If, for example, the planetary gear carrier 22 is driven by means of the motor 32 and the drive belt 33 in the direction of the arrow 36, the planetary gear carrier 16 rotating as a result of the coupling rod 23 at the same speed against the direction of the arrow 35,
The speed of the output shaft 11 of the first epicyclic gearing 11-16 and thus also that of the planetary gear carrier 29 of the third epicyclic gearing 24-29 is greater, and that of the output shaft 17 of the second epicyclic gearing 17-22 is lower than when both planetary gear carriers are stationary.
If the wheel diameter have the ratios given in the drawing, the increase in the speed of the output shaft 24 of the third planetary gear resulting from the increase in the speed of the planetary gear carrier 29 is greater than the reduction in this speed, which is caused by the simultaneous reduction in the speed of the drive shaft 17 of the third epicyclic gear.
As a result, the speed of the output shaft 24 increases, and the transmission ratio between the drive shaft 1 and the output shaft 24 of the transmission system decreases. Conversely, this transmission ratio can be increased compared to that when the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 are at a standstill by rotating the planetary gear carrier 22 against the arrow 36 by means of the motor 32. The transmission ratio of the system thus depends on the speed of the planet wheel carrier 22, which speed can be arbitrarily changed by means of the motor 32.
In order to obtain a certain transmission ratio, the speed of the planetary gear carrier must be in a certain ratio to the speed of the drive shaft 1. Since when the planetary gear carrier 22 rotates, one of the two planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 is always rotated in the sense of the reaction torque acting on it and the other of these two planetary gear carriers is rotated against the equally large reaction torque acting on it,
the motor 32 only has to overcome the frictional torques acting on these at the planetary gear carrier and, when its speed increases, the torques resulting from the inertia of the organs to be accelerated. The power of this motor therefore only needs to be small, which allows it to be designed so that its speed can be varied over a wide range and can be controlled well, that it has small dimensions, low weight, simple structure, long service life, etc. , while its efficiency can be low compared to that of the transmission system.
According to a variant, the number of teeth of the gears 25-28 of the third planetary gear or of the gears 30 and 31 could be selected slightly different from the above condition so that the reaction torque acting on the planetary gear carrier 16 in the direction of arrow 35 is slightly greater than that on the planet carrier 22 acting in the direction of arrow 36. The two planetary gear carriers would then not be in indifferent equilibrium, but would tend to rotate in the sense of the first-mentioned reaction torque, that is, in the sense of arrow 35 and against the sense of arrow 36.
To control the speed of the planetary gear carriers, instead of the motor 32, a braking device could be provided which, as indicated at 34, acts on the planetary gear carrier 22 and is designed so that the braking torque exerted by it on this planetary gear carrier is dependent on its speed . Such a Bremsvor direction could, for example, consist of a wheel carrier from the planet 22, so against the direction of rotation 36, is driven liquid pump, the pressure and suction sides are connected to each other via a throttle opening of adjustable ble cross-section.
If the speed of the planetary gear carrier 22 is arbitrarily variable by setting this cross-section, the torque absorbed by the pump would then be equal to the amount by which the reaction torque acting in the direction of the arrow 35 on the planetary gear carrier 16 is greater than that in the direction of the Arrow 36 acting on the planet carrier 22, so that these planet carriers are in equilibrium at this speed and continuously rotate at this speed.
Since the transmission ratio of the transmission system depends on the speed of the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22, it can be set for a given torque and a given speed of the drive shaft 1 by changing the cross-section of the said throttle opening between the values that exist when the throttle opening and has the largest adjustable cross-section of the throttle opening.
In the first case, the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 stand still, and the transmission ratio is the same as in the exemplary embodiment described above, assuming the assumption made first. In the second case, the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 rotate almost unhindered in the direction of arrow 35 and against the direction of arrow 36, so that the speed of shaft 11 and of the planetary gear carrier 29 rotating in the direction of arrow 37 is reduced compared to the first case and that of the Increased shaft 17 and thus, as stated above, that of the output shaft 24 of the transmission system is reduced;
The transmission ratio of the transmission is then greater than in the first case. The braking device can be dimensioned so that it is able to absorb all the power transmitted to the drive shaft 1; then the cross-section of the throttle opening can be set so that the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 a sufficiently high speed in relation to the speed of the drive shaft 1 in the direction of the arrow 35 he reach to bring the output shaft 24 to a standstill.
A reduction in the transmission ratio compared to operation with stationary planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 is not possible in this variant, since these planetary gear carriers would then have to be driven against the direction of arrow 35 and in the direction of arrow 36.
In this variant, for each transmission ratio of the transmission system, the reaction torques acting on the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22, and thus also the mentioned difference between these moments, are proportional to the drive torque acting on the drive shaft 1; In order to keep the gear ratio constant, the torque absorbed by the brake 34 must be adjusted by changing the cross-section of the throttle opening according to the respective drive torque of the difference between the reaction torques mentioned.
In the exemplary embodiment described first, this is not necessary since the said difference is always zero. As in that embodiment, it is also necessary in the present variant to keep the speed of the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 in a fixed ratio to the speed of the drive shaft 1 if this is variable and the transmission ratio of the transmission system is to remain constant.
According to a second variant, the number of teeth of the wheels 25-2ss of the third epicyclic gear or of the gears 30 and 31 could deviate in the opposite sense as in the first variant from the above condition, so that the planet carrier 16 in the direction of the arrow 35 acting reaction torque is somewhat smaller than that acting on the planet carrier 22 in the direction of arrow 36. The two planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 would then tend to rotate in the direction of arrow 36. A braking device of the same type as in the first variant can be used to control its speed.
It is then possible to reduce the transmission ratio of the gear system compared to the value it has when the planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 are stationary, instead of increasing it, as in the first variant.
The epicyclic gears could also be designed differently than in the exemplary embodiment described. For example, one or the other planet wheel of each gearbox could also mesh with a rotatable, internally toothed ring serving as a reaction element, while the planet carrier would be freely rotatable. Then said internally toothed rings of the first two epicyclic gears would have to be coupled to one another in such a way that they both rotate in the same direction and at the same speed, and the motor 32 or the brake 34 would have to act on these internally toothed rings.
To couple the two reaction organs, gears, chains or the like could also be used instead of the coupling rod.
The transmission system described is suitable for driving vehicles, fuel pumps and compressors in internal combustion engines, e.g. B. aviation engines, for driving electrical generators by prime movers with variable speed, for driving compressors and pumps with variable speed by asynchronous motors, etc.
According to a further variant, the inter mediate gear 5 of the entry gear 2-7 could be omitted and the gear 6 mesh directly with the gear 2 so that the drive shafts 3 and 7 of the two first epicyclic gears 11-16 and 17-22 and thus also their Output shafts 11 and 17 would rotate in the same sense. The two planetary gear carriers 16 and 22 would then have to be coupled with one another in such a way that they have to rotate in the opposite direction of rotation, e.g.
B. in that the planet wheel carriers would each be connected to one of two directly intermeshing, on the relevant drive shaft 11 or 17 rotatably mounted gears. So that the planetary gear carrier 29 rotates again in the same direction as the shaft 17, as in the example shown, it would have to be driven by the shaft 11 in the same direction of rotation as this; For this purpose, for example, a meshing with both of the intermediate gear could be arranged between the gears 30 and 31.
