Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>
 Radiator for central heating The present invention relates to a radiator for central heating, e.g. B. for the use of cold steam (Freon gas) is suitable. The relatively high operating pressure of the heating medium in this type of heating requires round cross-sections of the steam lines and small diameters of the same, since the freon content of the radiator should be as low as possible due to the relatively high cost of the gas.

  The radiator according to the invention is characterized in that a group of spaced apart tubes, which are intended to be flowed through by a heating medium, is in contact with sheet metal strips whose parts between the tubes are arranged in a common plane with the axes of the tubes and serve to enlarge the heating surface of the pipe grille.

  In the drawing, an embodiment of the heater according to the invention is shown.

  1 shows the radiator in a view, FIG. 2 shows a section along the line A-A in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 shows a detail of FIG. 2 on a larger scale.

  The radiator has a number of tubes 1 which are arranged parallel to one another and at a distance through which the heating medium flows. Sheet metal strips 2 are arranged transversely to the tubes 1 at a distance from one another, which are in metallic connection with the tubes 1 in order to enlarge the heating surface of the grid-like tube group 1. In the example shown, the tubes 1 are about half of their circumference from the strips 2 includes. The sheet metal strips 2 are fastened to the tubes 1 themselves by spot welding, and the parts of the strips 2 present between the latter lie in a plane common to the axes of the tubes 1.

   The grid formed by the tubes 1 and the sheet metal strips 2 according to FIG. 1 has approximately the appearance of a sectional radiator of a central heating system. It is arranged at a distance from at least one screen 3 in such a way that the screen is heated by thermal radiation from the tubular grille and is used for reflection and for the formation of a convection air flow.

  The headers at the ends of the tubes are denoted by 4 and the connections of the radiator are denoted by 5.

  According to a further, not specifically shown embodiment, the sheet metal strips can be lined up without gaps in such a way that they form a flat surface. The radiator shown can be designed according to the rooms for which it is used to heat; it can of course also be used for heating means other than cold steam.
