la fig. 1 est une vue partielle du dispositif du côté destiné à être appliqué contre l'anus artificiel ;
Device for receiving feces from an artificial anus
We know that people with an artificial anus are obliged to constantly wear a device capable of receiving the feces that leave this anus without the person having any control over them. Indeed, the obturator muscle failing, the materials leave the artificial anus as and when they arrive there.
To receive them, one finds in the specialized trade devices comprising a bag of excrement generally made of plastic material, having a tubular opening which is threaded into a ring and which is partially wound around the outer edge of this ring before the latter. this is placed on the body so as to surround the artificial anus. A bandage keeps Ring in place. The bags are renewed at regular intervals. The ring does not touch the body directly, but it presses against the latter the part of the bag which surrounds it. The result is, by the moisture that the human body secretes, a hermetic closure preventing any passage of material between the skin and the sachet.
This closure may be such that even gases accumulate in the bag without being able to escape, so that from time to time they must be allowed to escape by tilting the ring slightly.
However, if these devices are almost perfect from the point of hygienic VUR, they do not manage to prevent their wearer from the inconvenience resulting from the noise caused by the gases escaping from the artificial anus.
These extremely embarrassing noises absolutely cannot be predicted and, therefore, their consequences cannot be prevented. This results in a constant insecurity of the wearer of such a device which can seriously affect his morale.
The object of the present invention is to overcome this drawback. To this end, it relates to a device intended to receive the faeces coming out of an artificial anus, comprising a bandage capable of holding in place around the artificial anus an organ removably holding a bag of excrement, characterized by the fact that said member comprises a ring inside which is housed a part capable of pressing against the opening of the anus.
The appended drawing illustrates, by way of example, an embodiment of a device according to the invention.
In this drawing:
fig. 1 is a partial view of the device from the side intended to be applied against the artificial anus;
fig. 2 shows the same device in place partially in section, and
fig. 3 shows a variant of a detail.
The excrements coming out of the artificial anus made in the skin of the stomach are intended to be received in a bag 1 made of impermeable plastic.
This bag 1 has a tubular opening 2 which widens upwards. This tubular part 2 passes through a ring 3 and the enlarged part 4 is partially folded around the ring 3. A circular groove provided in the outer surface of the ring serves to receive an elastic ring 5 with the aid of which the bag. 1 is fixed by its enlarged part 4 to the ring 3 so that it can be easily exchanged. On the face of the ring 3 which, when the device is in place, is opposite the part of the ring in contact with the wearer's body, two eyelets 6 are fixed at two diametrically opposed points. These eyelets 6 are each intended to receive a hook 7 provided at the ends of a bandage 8 in the form of a belt.
The inner face of the ring 3 has a shoulder 9 serving as a stop for a second ring 10, the outer shape of which is chosen such that it fits concentrically in the outer ring 3. This second ring 10 hereinafter referred to as the inner ring , when it is placed in the outer ring 3, clamps between it and the latter the tubular part 2 of the bag 1 so that the latter is held in place even if the elastic member 5 were to give way. Two eyelets 11 are fixed at opposite points of the inner contour of the inner ring at a location sufficiently far from the body when the device is in place so that any danger of injury to the artificial anus by these eyelets and the hooks 12 which come s 'engage in it is excluded.
These eyelets 1 1 serve to removably fix with the help of the hooks 12 an elastic member 13, for example an elastic band, narrow enough to leave between it and the inner periphery of the inner ring 10 enough space to allow materials faeces arriving in the sachet.
This elastic member 13 is intended, when the device is worn, to press against the orifice of the artificial anus a tampon indicated at 14, for example a gauze tampon. This buffer, which may form an integral part of the elastic member 13 or which may simply be placed on the latter, quietly absorbs the gases escaping from the orifice. It does not prevent, on the other hand, the materials from entering the bag, materials slightly spreading the pad by stretching the elastic member and passing through the fiber space between the member 13 and the inner ring 10. By placing the axis of the member 13 outside a diameter of the inner ring 10, as shown in FIG. 1, for example, it is possible to enlarge on one side the space for the passage of materials in the bag.
In fig. 3, there is shown a variant for fixing the elastic member 13 which, instead of the hooks 12 is provided at each end with one or two pins 15 which can be inserted into appropriate openings 16 provided in the inner ring replacing the eyelets 1 1 of the example of fig. 1 and 2. This variant has the advantage of allowing easier cleaning and even better preventing any danger of injury to the wearer.
For the implementation of the device, after having fixed the bag 1 to the outer ring 3 by the member 5, the inner ring 10 provided with the elastic member 13 and, on the carrier side, the pad 14 in the outer ring 3. The two rings are then placed against the body so that the inner ring surrounds the artificial anus and the tampon completely covers the latter. Then, keeping the rings thus placed, the bandage 8 is fixed.
The latter must, of course, be of sufficient width and elasticity to hold the rings in place. To facilitate the removal of the rings necessary to exchange the bag, a band may be provided which can connect the two ends of the belt while the rings are removed.
This prevents the belt from moving or falling during the exchange.
Of course, the tampon 10 can additionally serve to receive and apply medicaments, such as powders, ointments or liquids prescribed by the physician for the fairly frequent case of inflammation or for the treatment of injuries in the vicinity of the skin. artificial anus or the latter itself. This is another advantage which the devices known hitherto do not exhibit.
