Packaging for a solid body, especially for a food product
Certain products, in particular food products, are enclosed in packaging whose opening is not always very practical; depending on the nature of these products, it is not convenient to unpack them without getting your fingers dirty.
The object of the present invention is to remedy this drawback. It relates to a packaging for a solid body, in particular for a food product, formed by a container having an opening, characterized in that it comprises a flexible element, fixed by one of its ends to the container near its opening, this element extending along an interior wall of the container to go to the bottom thereof and returning along the opposite wall until its other end, which is free, protrudes from the opening , so as to surround the solid body and to release it from the container when traction is exerted on the free end of the element.
The appended drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, two embodiments of a packaging object of the invention.
Figs. 1 and 2 show in perspective a package according to the first embodiment in the closed and respectively open position.
Figs. 3 and 4 are longitudinal sections of this packaging in the closed and open position respectively.
Figs. 5 and 6 represent the second embodiment.
The packaging according to fig. 1 to 4 is formed by a container 1 of parallelepiped shape having an opening 2 capable of being closed by a cover 3. The latter has a part 4 which comes to rest against a portion of an outer face 5 of the container, when the cover is closed.
The end of this part 4 is engaged in a slot 6 provided in the face 5, in order to keep the cover in the closed position. The packaging contains a solid body 7 which can be, in the example shown, a chocolate stick.
A flexible element 8 is fixed, by its end 9, to the container near its opening. This element 8 extends along an inner wall 10 of the container to go to the bottom 1 1 thereof and return along the opposite wall 12 until its other end 13, which is free , protrudes from the opening 2. In this way, the flexible element 8 surrounds the solid body 7. When the container is closed, the free end 13 of the flexible element 8 passes between the outer face 5 of the container and part 4 of cover 3, then around the end of this part 4 which is engaged in slot 6. As shown in FIG. 1, the free end of the flexible element 8 protrudes outside the container and has the shape of an arrow.
To open the container, the arrow 13 is pulled, preferably in the direction of the opening of the cover 3, the aim of which is to release the latter from the slot 6 and cause the container to open. The traction exerted on the flexible element 8 then causes the advance of the solid body 7 contained in the container 1. In the case where the solid body is, for example, chocolate or even an ice cream, it is seen that the user can eat the contents of the container without getting dirty since it suffices to hold the container in one hand and to pull with the other hand on the flexible element 8 to release the part which he wishes to eat.
The embodiment shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 relate to a package intended more particularly to contain a soft product, such as for example a condensed fatty broth. This soft product has the shape of an elongated parallelepiped 14 which is housed in a container 15 which is also elongated in shape and which has an opening 16 at one of its ends. This container comprises a cover having a flat part 17 which is substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the container and which has an edge 18 intended to act as a knife for delivering the product 14. This part 17 is adjacent to a second flat part 19, these two parts being integral with two lateral arms 20, articulated on two opposite walls of the container and only one of which is visible in the drawing.
The container is made of synthetic resin and has on two of its opposite sides two studs 21 formed integrally with the container, and which are each engaged in a hole provided at the end of each of the arms 20. In this way, the cover, which is also made of synthetic resin, is articulated to the container in such a way that its flat part 17 can effect a movement substantially transverse to the longitudinal axis of the container. The flexible element, which consists of a strip of transparent cellulosic material, is glued by one of its ends to an interior wall of the container. This tape goes to the bottom of the container to surround the rear part of the product 14 and to return along the top wall of the container.
When the cover is closed, its part 17 covers the opening 16 of the container and the end of the flexible element 8 passes between one end of the product and the cover. By exerting a traction on the end 13 of the flexible element, one causes a lateral displacement of the cover, then the progressive exit of the product. A closing movement of the cover, obtained by pressure with the thumb as shown in fig. 6, is sufficient to cut the portion of the product 14 which comes out of the opening of the receptacle without having to use a particular utensil such as a knife or a spoon.
Naturally, many modifications could be provided to the embodiments shown and, in particular, the flexible element can be arranged so that it exits the container passing along any edge of the rectangular opening of said container. In the embodiment according to FIG. 1, the cover of the container could also be omitted, the packaging then being closed only by the part of the flexible element which passes in front of the opening. This part could be folded back along an outer face of the container and glued against it using a suitable adhesive material.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 5 and 6, the front part 17 of the cover could also be constituted by a steel blade or by a wire extending between the two arms 20. This cover could also be subjected to the action of a spring intended for keep it closed. The container could be provided in a material other than a synthetic resin, for example in sheet metal, and the flexible link could be made in any suitable material, for example in aluminum foil.
