Description

Fingernail imitation Following the prevailing fashion at the moment, many people of the female sex wear long fingernails that are coated with nail polish. The paint used for this is not scratch-resistant, so that the paintwork must be renewed periodically. Before repainting, the fingernails must be freed from the old paint residue using a solvent (usually acetone). Cleaning and repainting are time-consuming and impair the elasticity of the fingernails, which in turn causes them to break off frequently.

In contrast, fingernail prostheses or imitations are known which are made of plastics such as cellophane (registered trademark), etc. and can be glued over broken nails. After gluing on, these artificial fingernails still have to be coated with nail polish.

The present invention now relates to an imitation or prosthesis fingernail that no longer needs to be painted because it consists of a colored, non-transparent plastic. Such imitations can be produced individually for each individual finger or in a ready-made version so that they correspond in shape and dimensions to nicely grown and carefully painted fingernails. Of course, plastics of any desired color can be used. Subsequent painting is therefore no longer necessary.

Stylized forms with applied decorations can also be used. The imitations are attached to the natural fingernails using an adhesive.
