Description

  Faltschachtel

Fig. 2 die Schachtel in der Lagerungsform,
Fig. 3 die Schachtel in gebrauchsfertiger Form.

7 an.

  Folding box
The present invention relates to a folding box in which the base, lid and side walls are made in one piece.

Folding boxes are already known in which the bottom, lid and side walls consist of a single piece, the folding box being made ready for use by opening the side walls and inserting certain parts into corresponding slots. This approach is generally time consuming and unsatisfactory. This disadvantage is to be avoided with the box according to the present invention.

The box according to the invention is characterized in that its blank in the unfolded state consists of a rectangular piece which is provided with tabs formed by punching at the corner parts, and that this blank can be brought into a storage form and a ready-to-use form of the box, said flaps both in the storage form and in the ready-to-use form of the box each engaging in one and the same slot of a side wall and in the ready-to-use form holding this side wall in the open position.

An exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown in the accompanying drawing. Show it:
1 shows the box in the expanded state,
Fig. 2 shows the box in the storage form,
Fig. 3 shows the box in ready-to-use form.

The blank of the box (FIG. 1) consists of a single cardboard part with base 1, cover 2, a side wall 3, side walls 4 and 5 adjoining the base 1 and side walls 6 and 7 adjoining the lid 2.

The corner parts 8 and 9 present in the corners of two adjacent side walls 4 and 5 or 6 and 7 are arranged on the side walls 4 and 6 and provided with tabs 13 formed by punching, which are intended when folding into slots 12 of the abutting side walls 5 and 7 to be introduced, which when opening these pages 5 and 7 keep the box in a ready-to-use condition.

In Fig. 2 the folding box is shown in the folded-up storage state before use.

The end walls 5 and 7 are folded over onto the base 1 and onto the cover 2, respectively. Then the side walls 4 and 6 and the corner pieces 8 and 9 protruding from these side walls are placed against the walls 5 and 7 and the tabs 13 are inserted into the slots 12, whereby the side walls are connected to one another.

For use, the ready-to-use box (Fig. 3) is created by opening the end faces 5 and 7. When opening, the corner sections 8 and 9 rotate with their tabs in the slots 12 like a hinge and, after opening, lie in their entire extent on the side walls 5 and 7, respectively. The parts 10 located between the side walls 4 and 6 are rotated towards the inside of the box on a groove 11, where they form a reinforcement of the box wall and come to lie in front of the side wall 3 as reinforcement when the box is opened.

To close the box, the cover part is placed over the base part, the side wall 3 opening around the groove 11.

The folding box described has the great advantage of being simple to manufacture and simple to convert from its storage form to the ready-to-use form; it is therefore cheap to make.

It is supplied by the manufacturer in a space-saving arrangement, but with ready-to-use connected parts so that the consumer can create the ready-to-use shape of the box with a simple grip. The consumer no longer has to connect individual parts.
