Fig. 1 einen Vertikalschnitt,
Heat exchanger
The present invention relates to a heat exchanger for two media flowing through, with a hollow, single-walled rotor provided with one and an outlet for one medium and a housing surrounding this rotor, provided with one and an outlet for the other medium.
The heat exchanger according to the invention is characterized in that the interior of the rotor is sealed off from the housing interior, the inlet line for the first-mentioned medium opening out at one end of the rotor, while a discharge device is arranged at the other end of the rotor, the whole thing in such a way that the first-mentioned medium flows in the form of thin layers sprayed onto the inner wall of the rotor from the inlet to the discharge device.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the accompanying drawings.
Show it:
Fig. 1 is a vertical section,
Fig. 2 to 4 variants of the design of the rotor and
5 shows a variant of the supply of one medium.
The heat exchanger shown in vertical section in FIG. 1 has a hollow rotor 1 accommodated in a housing 2. The rotor 1 has hollow pins 3, 4 which are rotatably mounted in ball bearings 5, 6. The ball bearing 5 is arranged in a connecting piece 7 of the housing 2 and the ball bearing 6 in a sleeve 8 of the frame 9 of the housing 2. A seal 10 is provided on both sides of the bearing 5 so that the interior of the rotor 1 remains separated from the interior of the housing. A central supply line 11 extends through the hollow pin 3 to the lower end of the rotor 1. At the other end of the rotor 1, a discharge device 12 is provided in a part of the rotor 1 which is essentially frustoconical. This device 12 is connected to an outlet line 13 which extends through the hollow pin 4.
A seal 14 is inserted between the hollow pin 4 and the bottom 15 of the housing 2. The housing 2 has an inlet 16 in its upper part and an outlet 17 in its bottom 15. The interior of the rotor 1 can be connected to a suction device via the hollow pin 3 and the opening 18. The rotor 1 is driven by means of a belt pulley 19 which is mounted on the hollow pin 4. A seal 20 is provided between the line 13 and the inner wall of the hollow pin 4.
The upper part of the rotor 1 has one (or more) blades 21 for separating droplets.
If the heat exchanger is used as an evaporator, the heat emitting medium, e.g. B. steam, introduced through inlet 16. The heat-absorbing medium is introduced through the line 11 and sprayed onto the conical wall of the rotor 1 in relatively thin layers.
Under the effect of centrifugal force, it will rise until it reaches the discharge device 12. When the first medium condenses on the outer wall of the rotor 1, the condensate is immediately removed under the effect of centrifugal force and it converges on the bottom 15 of the housing 2. The outlet 17 can be designed as a steam vent or connected to a steam pump. Thanks to the rotation of the rotor 1, a very high heat transfer coefficient is obtained between the first medium and the rotor wall. This is partly due to the velocity gradient of the medium and partly due to the ability to remove any condensate immediately. In the same way, the heat transfer coefficient between the rotor wall and the second medium is high.
By adapting the speed of rotation of the rotor 1 to the flow rate of the second medium, it is possible to achieve a relatively high speed for the medium within the rotor 1. Gas or vapors that are in the second medium and have been released through evaporation can be separated or even removed quickly by means of centrifugal force. They are discharged via the hollow pin 3 and the opening 18.
This opening could also be connected to a vacuum pump, which would make it possible to generate a negative pressure inside the rotor. The evaporation temperature can thus be adapted to any medium as desired. The thickened liquid is fed into the outlet line 13 by means of the discharge device 12.
The rotor shown in Fig. 1 is essentially frustoconical, the generatrix of the cone being a straight line. Other generators are also conceivable.
In Fig. 2 to 4 further embodiments of the rotor are shown. The rotor according to FIG. 2 has a generatrix which is curved in such a way that the diameter of the rotor at its lower end la, where the second medium is introduced, increases only slowly from bottom to top, while at the other end it increases for 1 hour increases faster. This can be important when treating certain media, because it is possible to influence the axial velocity component of the medium. This speed component can thus either vary or be kept constant, although the viscosity of the medium increases because of the evaporation.
According to FIG. 3, the generatrix is selected in such a way that the diameter of the rotor remains approximately constant at both ends la, 1b of the same, while it increases rapidly from bottom to top in a central zone lc.
By choosing a corrugated rotor wall (FIG. 4), the surface of the latter can be increased with otherwise the same axial and radial dimensions.
The corrugations of the rotor jacket surface can run in the axial direction (FIG. 4) or in the circumferential direction of the rotor or form a helical line.
Such corrugations can of course also be provided in rotors according to FIGS. 1 to 3.
The heat exchanger according to FIG. 1 operates on the countercurrent principle. Of course, the media could flow in the same direction or in crossed directions.
Instead of a simple inlet 16, an annular line 25 with a connecting flange 24 could be provided (FIG. 5). A number of distribution lines provided with nozzles 23 spraying the first medium against the rotor are connected to the line 25. The nozzles 23 are arranged such that the jet reaches the rotor wall more or less tangentially.
The heat exchanger described can be used for evaporation with or without vacuum, for deodorization of vegetable oil, for redistillation of aromatic and essential oils, for other vacuum distillations, e.g. B. partial distillations and selective distillations, as well as can be used for cooling.
