Fully automatically operated radiator shutter on automobiles The subject of the invention is a fully automatically operated radiator shutter on automobiles, which differs from the known devices in that the operating linkage of the radiator shutter is controlled directly by a thermostat immersed in the cooling water, so that the shutter is fully automatically controlled by the Closed position to open position is set in any intermediate position in adaptation to the temperature of the cooling water.
For this purpose, the actuating linkage of the blind is expediently connected to a tension spring that moves the blind in the open position and also to a tension member of the thermostat that counteracts this and moves the blind into the closed position.
The radiator shutter can be provided with a mounting in existing automobiles facilitating, rectangular frame, on which the Actuate transmission linkage of the shutter is performed.
In the drawing, an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention is shown, namely: Fig. 1 is a front view of the blind in the closed position, Fig. 2 is a plan view of Fig. 1, Fig. 3 is a plan view of the blind in the open position, Fig 4 shows the design and mounting of the blind slats, on a larger scale, and FIG. 5 shows a cross section along line VV in FIG. 4, on a larger scale.
In the illustrated embodiment, the blind mounted in front of the radiator 1 on the inside of the front wall of the radiator hood has a rectangular frame 2 with vertical slats 3. The slats 3 can be rotated above and below via central axes 4 in the horizontal frame parts. stored. The upper ends of the axle continue in the form of curb 5 upwards. The free ends of these Kur cables 5 form pins 5 'which engage in a common operating rod 6. The lamellae 3 are mounted so that their longitudinal edges overlap each other in the closed position.
At the bent at an angle one end 6 'of Actuate supply rod 6 engages a tension spring 7, which is hooked with its other end on an unloading to the side, attached to the frame 2 arm 8. 9 is a thermostat which is immersed in the cooler water and whose organ, which is subject to dilation and contraction in the event of temperature fluctuations, is connected to a flexible traction means 10, which in turn is attached to the actuating rod 6.
At the end of the appropriately standing traction means 10 from a steel or copper side, a screw 11 is fastened, which penetrates a bore 12 of the end 6 'of the actuating rod 6 and is provided with a regulating nut 12. 13 is a rigid or flexible guide jacket which extends from the thermostat 9 to a holding arm 14 fastened to the frame 2 in the vicinity of the end 6 ′ of the actuating rod 6.
With the help of the radiator shutter connected in this way to the thermostat 9, the cooling air that is applied to the radiator 1 can be regulated so that the cooling water temperature cannot fall below a certain lower temperature limit, and the shutter is opened gradually as the engine power increases becomes, in the same chemical mass as the cooling water temperature increases. The tensile force exerted by the thermostat 9 on the part 10 is sufficient to operate the blind.
The switching path of the actuating rod 6 is chosen so that the dilation of the temperature-sensitive organ of the thermostat 9 taking place within a certain upper and lower temperature limit of the cooling water coincides with this path.
To prevent the occurrence of shaking noises when driving, the slats 3, as can be seen from FIGS. 4 and 5, at least on their longitudinal edges with a sound-absorbing coating 15 (Fig. 5) made of felt, rubber, plastic, etc. see ver . By this coating @ 15 both noise is avoided and a good seal from the slats 3 among themselves and against the frame 2 is achieved. In addition, the axes 4 of the slats 3 in rubber bushings 16 of the frame 2 and the crank pins 5 'in rubber bushings 17 of the actuating rod 6 are to achieve effective noise control.
The slats 3 have protruding beads 3 'on both flat sides to increase the longitudinal stability, which are particularly useful for slats made of light metal or plastic.
