Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Zusammenschweissen von Rohrleitungselementen, wie z. B.



  Fittings und Röhren aus Kunststoff, mit Hilfe des an sich bekannten Verfahrens der elektrischen Widerstandsheizung.



   Es ist bekannt, Platten durch dazwischengelegte Heizelemente miteinander zu verschweissen. Es ist auch bekannt, auf die Aussenflächen von Kunststoffröhren Heizelemente aufzulegen, die nach dem Zusammenfügen der Röhren die Berührungszonen erwärmen und verschweissen. Ferner ist bekannt, als Vorrichtung in einen Fitting eingespritzte Heizelemente zum Verschweissen zu verwenden.



   Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Zusammenschweissen und ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Heizelement in ein separates, ringförmiges Verbindungselement eingebettet wird, welch letzteres an die Schweissflächen anliegend montiert und alsdann durch elektrischen Strom aufgeheizt wird.



     Fig. 1    zeigt ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel des Verfahrens.



   Fig. 2 zeigt einen Schnitt durch einen Fitting gemäss Fig. 1, dessen einer Schenkel eine bereits verschweisste Verbindungsstelle aufweist und der andere Schenkel mit montierten, das heisst zusammengesteckten, aber nicht verschweissten Verbindungsteilen.



   Fig. 3 zeigt einen Schnitt durch ein zweites Ausführungsbeispiel mit einem V-förmigen Verbindungselement, teilweise verschweisst und teilweise vor   dem    Zusammenbau.



   Fig. 4 zeigt einen Schnitt durch ein drittes Ausführungsbeispiel mit einem zylindrischen Verbindungselement, teilweise verschweisst und teilweise vor dem
Fig. 5 zeigt einen Schnitt durch ein viertes Ausführungsbeispiel mit einer zylindrischen   Oberschiebe    muffe teilweise verschweisst und teilweise vor dem Zusammenbau.



   In Fig. 1 und 2 ist ein Schenkel 2 eines Kunststoffittings 1 mit einem Kunststoffrohr 3 dargestellt.



  Der andere Schenkel 4 des Fittings 1 weist einen Bohrungsdurchmesser auf, der gleich gross ist wie der Aussendurchmesser eines Verbindungselementes 5. Letzteres ist aus demselben Material wie die Organe 1 und 3 hergestellt. Im Verbindungselement 5 ist ein Heizelement 7 eingebettet. Diese Einbettung kann bei der Herstellung des Verbindungselementes 5 erfolgen, und zwar je nach der Methode durch Eingiessen, Einspritzen oder durch Umwickeln des Verbindungselementes 5. Durch Anschlüsse 6 kann das Heizelement an eine nicht dargestellte Stromquelle angeschlossen werden. Die Herstellung des Heizelementes 5 kann mittels Runddraht, Blechring, Drahtkäfig oder dergleichen erfolgen. Der Innendurchmesser des Verbindungselementes 5 entspricht dem Aussendurchmesser des zu verbindenden Kunststoffrohres 8.



   In der Fig. 2 sind die Teile 5 und 8 in die Bohrung eines Schenkels 4 des Kunststoffittings 1 eingesteckt, und es zeigt sich die Verbindung im zusammengebauten, aber noch nicht verschweissten Zustand. Die Verschweissung erfolgt, indem die Heizwicklungsenden 6 an eine nicht dargestellte elektrische Stromquelle angeschlossen werden. Dadurch werden die Berührungszonen der Organe 1, 5, 8 auf   Schweiss- bzw.    Schmelztemperatur gebracht, wodurch sich diese Organe ineinander verschmelzen und während des Erkaltens die Verbindung herstellen, wie es die bereits verschweissten Teile 1 bzw. 2 und 3 zeigen (Fig. 2). Das Heizelement 7 verbleibt im verschweissten Zustande in der Verbindungsstelle.



   Somit weist das Verbindungselement 5 einen Aussendurchmesser auf, der dem Innendurchmesser  des Kunststoffittings 1 entspricht und der Innen durchmesser des Verbindungselementes 5 dem Aussen durchmesser des Kunststoffrohres 8 entspricht, das
Ganze   derart, dass    das Verbindungselement 5 in den
Kunststoffitting 1 eingeschoben und das Kunststoff rohr 8 in das Verbindungselement 5 gesteckt werden kann.



   Ein Fitting 9 (Fig. 3) ist an seinen Verbindungs enden 10 angefast, damit ein V-förmiges Verbindungselement 11 auf diese Anfasung aufgeschoben werden kann. Der Aussendurchmesser der Verbin dungsenden 10 ist gleich dem Aussendurchmesser von zu verbindenden Kunststoffröhren 12 und 13.



  Letztere sind an ihren Enden 16 ebenfalls angefast.



   Je nach der Herstellungsart der Verbindungselemente 11 werden Heizelemente 14 in die V-förmige Innenfläche eingegossen oder eingespritzt. Durch Anschlüsse 15 kann das Heizelement 14 an eine nicht dargestellte elektrische Stromquelle angeschlossen werden, damit die Verbindungszonen der Organe 9 bzw. 10, 11, 13 bzw. 16 auf   Schweiss- bzw.   



  Schmelztemperatur gebracht werden und im schmelzflüssigen Zustand eine Verbindung der Teile 9, 11 und 12 herstellen.



   Es wird dabei ein Verbindungselement 11 verwendet, dessen V-förmige Innenflächen den schrägen Kanten der Anfasungen 10, 16 der zu verbindenden Teile 9, 13 entsprechen.



   Ein Fitting 23 (Fig. 4) weist an den Verbindungs-. enden 17 eine Eindrehung auf, die dem Innendurchmesser eines zylindrischen Verbindungselementes 18 entspricht. Der Aussendurchmesser des Fittings 23 ist identisch mit dem Aussendurchmesser der Verbindungselemente 18 und dem Aussendurchmesser von zu verbindenden Kunststoffröhren 19 und 20. Die letzteren weisen ebenfalls eine Eindrehung 24 auf, auf welche das Verbindungselement 18 aufgeschoben werden kann.



   Die Verbindungselemente 18 sind an ihrem Innendurchmesser mit einem Heizelement 21 versehen, welches durch Einspritzen, Eingiessen oder auf andere Weise mit dem Verbindungselement 18 zu einem Stück verbunden ist. Nach dem Zusammenschieben der Teile 18, 19, 23 werden die Heizelemente 21 mittels Anschlüssen 22 an eine nicht dargestellte Stromquelle angeschlossen und erwärmt, wodurch eine Verbindung der Teile 18, 20, 23 hergestellt wird.



   Das Verbindungselement 18 ist demnach als zylindrische Büchse ausgeführt, deren Innendurchmesser den Eindrehungen 17, 24 der zu verbindenden Teile 19, 23 entspricht und der Aussendurchmesser des Verbindungselementes 18 dem Aussendurchmesser der zu verbindenden Teile 19 und 23 entspricht, das Ganze derart, dass innen und aussen eine glatte, durchgehende Oberfläche der Schweissstelle mit den zu verbindenden Teilen 19 und 23 entsteht.



   Eine weitere Ausführung der Verbindungselemente ist in Fig. 5 dargestellt, als Uberschiebemuffe 29, deren Innendurchmesser dem Aussendurchmesser eines Kunststoffittings 30 und eines Kunststoffrohres 25 entspricht. Ein Heizelement 26 ist auf der Innenseite der   Oberschiebemuffe    29 derart mit derselben verbunden, dass das Ganze eine Einheit bildet. Die   Überschiebemuffe    29 wird über das Kunststoffrohr 25 geschoben und letztere mit dem Kunststoffitting 30 bis zur gegenseitigen Berührung gebracht. Durch
Verschieben der   Überschiebemuffe    29 über die Trennstelle der Teile 25 und 30 werden dieselben radial zusammengehalten. Durch Erwärmen der Berührungszonen wird eine Verbindung der Teile 28, 29, 30 hergestellt.



   Das Verbindungselement 29 weist demnach einen Innendurchmesser auf, der dem Aussendurchmesser der zu verbindenden Teile 25 und 30 entspricht das Ganze derart, dass die Trennstelle der zusammengeschobenen Teile 25 und 30 durch das Verbindungselement 29 bedeckt sind.



   Die Vorteile der vorliegenden Erfindung liegen im wesentlichen darin, dass die Heizelemente weder in den Kunststoffitting noch in das Kunststoffrohr eingespritzt, eingegossen oder sonstwie befestigt werwerden müssen, sondern die Heizelemente sind in besonderen, getrennten Verbindungselementen enthalten. Ein weiterer Vorteil ergibt sich dadurch, dass die Vorrichtung sowohl zum Verschweissen von Kunststoffrohr mit Kunststoffrohr oder von Kunststoffitting mit Kunststoffitting als auch zum Verschweissen von Kunststoffrohr mit Kunststoffitting verwendet werden kann.   



  
 



  Process for welding together pipe elements made of plastic
The invention relates to a method for welding together pipe elements, such as. B.



  Fittings and pipes made of plastic, using the known method of electrical resistance heating.



   It is known to weld plates to one another by interposing heating elements. It is also known to place heating elements on the outer surfaces of plastic tubes which, after the tubes have been joined together, heat and weld the contact zones. It is also known to use heating elements injected into a fitting as a device for welding.



   The present invention relates to a method for welding together and is characterized in that a heating element is embedded in a separate, ring-shaped connecting element, the latter being mounted adjacent to the welding surfaces and then heated by electric current.



     Fig. 1 shows a first embodiment of the method.



   FIG. 2 shows a section through a fitting according to FIG. 1, one leg of which has an already welded connection point and the other leg with mounted, that is to say plugged together, but not welded connection parts.



   Fig. 3 shows a section through a second embodiment with a V-shaped connecting element, partially welded and partially before assembly.

   In Fig. 1 and 2, a leg 2 of a plastic fitting 1 with a plastic pipe 3 is shown.



  The other leg 4 of the fitting 1 has a bore diameter which is the same size as the outer diameter of a connecting element 5. The latter is made of the same material as the organs 1 and 3. A heating element 7 is embedded in the connecting element 5. This embedding can be done during the production of the connecting element 5, depending on the method by casting, injecting or wrapping around the connecting element 5. The heating element can be connected to a power source (not shown) through connections 6. The heating element 5 can be produced by means of round wire, sheet metal ring, wire cage or the like. The inside diameter of the connecting element 5 corresponds to the outside diameter of the plastic pipe 8 to be connected.



   In FIG. 2, the parts 5 and 8 are inserted into the bore of a leg 4 of the plastic fitting 1, and the connection is shown in the assembled but not yet welded state. The welding takes place in that the heating coil ends 6 are connected to an electrical power source (not shown). As a result, the contact zones of the organs 1, 5, 8 are brought to the welding or melting temperature, whereby these organs fuse into one another and establish the connection during the cooling, as shown by the already welded parts 1 or 2 and 3 (Fig. 2 ). The heating element 7 remains in the welded state in the connection point.



   Thus, the connecting element 5 has an outside diameter which corresponds to the inside diameter of the plastic fitting 1 and the inside diameter of the connecting element 5 corresponds to the outside diameter of the plastic pipe 8 which

   A fitting 9 (Fig. 3) is chamfered at its connection ends 10 so that a V-shaped connecting element 11 can be pushed onto this bevel. The outer diameter of the connec tion ends 10 is equal to the outer diameter of the plastic tubes 12 and 13 to be connected.



  The latter are also chamfered at their ends 16.



   Depending on how the connecting elements 11 are manufactured, heating elements 14 are cast or injected into the V-shaped inner surface. The heating element 14 can be connected to an electrical power source (not shown) through connections 15, so that the connection zones of the organs 9 or 10, 11, 13 or 16 are exposed to welding or welding.



  Melting temperature are brought and establish a connection of parts 9, 11 and 12 in the molten state.



   A connecting element 11 is used, the V-shaped inner surfaces of which correspond to the inclined edges of the chamfers 10, 16 of the parts 9, 13 to be connected.



   A fitting 23 (Fig. 4) points to the connection. end 17 a recess which corresponds to the inner diameter of a cylindrical connecting element 18. The outside diameter of the fitting 23 is identical to the outside diameter of the connecting elements 18 and the outside diameter of the plastic tubes 19 and 20 to be connected. The latter also have a recess 24 onto which the connecting element 18 can be pushed.



   The connecting elements 18 are provided on their inside diameter with a heating element 21 which is connected to the connecting element 18 in one piece by injection molding, casting or in some other way. After the parts 18, 19, 23 have been pushed together, the heating elements 21 are connected to a power source (not shown) by means of connections 22 and are heated, as a result of which the parts 18, 20, 23 are connected.



   The connecting element 18 is accordingly designed as a cylindrical bushing, the inside diameter of which corresponds to the indentations 17, 24 of the parts 19, 23 to be connected and the outside diameter of the connecting element 18 corresponds to the outside diameter of the parts 19 and 23 to be connected, the whole in such a way that inside and outside a smooth, continuous surface of the welding point with the parts 19 and 23 to be connected is created.



   A further embodiment of the connecting elements is shown in FIG. 5, as a sliding sleeve 29, the inner diameter of which corresponds to the outer diameter of a plastic fitting 30 and a plastic pipe 25. A heating element 26 is connected to the inside of the upper sliding sleeve 29 in such a way that the whole forms a unit. The sliding sleeve 29 is pushed over the plastic pipe 25 and the latter is brought into contact with the plastic fitting 30. By
Moving the sleeve 29 over the separation point of the parts 25 and 30, the same are held together radially. The parts 28, 29, 30 are connected by heating the contact zones.



   The connecting element 29 accordingly has an inside diameter which corresponds to the outside diameter of the parts 25 and 30 to be connected, the whole in such a way that the separation point of the parts 25 and 30 pushed together are covered by the connecting element 29.



   The advantages of the present invention are essentially that the heating elements do not have to be injected, cast or otherwise fastened into the plastic fitting or the plastic pipe, but rather the heating elements are contained in special, separate connecting elements. Another advantage results from the fact that the device can be used both for welding plastic pipe with plastic pipe or plastic fitting with plastic fitting and for welding plastic pipe with plastic fitting.


    

Claims (1)

PATENTANSPRÜCHE I. Verfahren zum Zusammenschweissen von Rohrleitungselementen aus Kunststoff mit Hilfe einer elektrischen Widerstandsheizung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass ein Heizelement in ein separates, ringförmiges Verbindungselement eingebettet wird, das letztere an die Schweissflächen anliegend montiert und alsdann durch elektrischen Strom aufgeheizt wird.
